Wow Stunning. I also thought that you did attach a real life picture. I feel really small now.

Hands down, without a doubt, Simtropolis' next BAT of the year for 2014. No lie. Then again, I'm not the only pointing it out :P

Btw reddon, I've been wondering for a while and trying to find out myself as to how you add noise to your textures. It makes them a lot more interesting and less flat than without them, and I've been trying to apply them on mine but I can't seem to find the option on 3ds Max...unless you do it on PS? But in any case, I'd love to know how you do it.

It is amazing!! I started a poll about london and nyc.. But having you working on london bats would be great to actually recreate as accurate as possible!! Is this the only london bat? Or as you said.. British bandwagon coming for more and more?

Wow, I never realized, until seeing this amazing model so closely, just how much St. Paul's uses false façade walls to maintain the Baroque upper profile from ground view, which is where most Londoners would have ever seen the cathedral.  Sir Christopher Wren was a sneaky genius!

This wonder is going to get renamed in all my simcities to St. Reddonquixote's!

Sorry, I'm a little bit late, but that's how philosophers are.

Had the Bankwest Tower in my city for a while. Very elegant building. So good done - and the renders ... brillant clear, some buildings you put beneath looking defocused.

On the other hand it made me think about realistic colours in games (= warning. philosophy ahead). I once made a 3D character. I know not much about this things – so, when it came to painting the skin I simply holded my hand in front of the monitor an tryed to match the colour of my own hand. It was exactly the colour of my own hand. But ingame my 3D character looked like a pale ghost. I repainted the skin and now the 3D character looked like a roasted turkey. To make it short; I never got it right. I deleted the character form my harddrive. I hated him for a long time.

I still don't know what are "realistic colors" in games, I've only learned that the colours of the real world most of the time aren't realistic looking colours in games.

I now looked at some pictures of the Bankwest Tower on the web and was deeply impressed how much the dark glass facade changes its colours – depending on daylight, I think. On some pictures it is almost light blue, on others a silver metallic green and on others deeply black.

So, if I critisize now, it's silly - when I say, I personally think, the glass facade came out too black. On renders I think (I'm no expert in this) there you can't lighten up black - it becomes gray and not a shiny black. But if you look on black shiny things in real life their edges can be totally white, the contrast reflecting black things produce can be extreme. I think that's the reason why the Bankwest Tower can change his colours completely. Maybe in renders you could simulate this effect, that even black things turn blue when you look at them from a far distance (I think that's the so called Doppler-shift?) with close and slightly blue light sources at the top of the building, so that the bottom is darker and to the top it becomes lighter and some blue.

But these are only thoughts. One should critisize, if one knows, what he is talking about. But I don't know. So I shouldn't critisize at all. You renders are amongst the best I'd ever seen. And now me I'm talking about rendering. Me. Sometimes I'm a silly guy. Don't take this serious. Bankwest Tower is a superb bat. It's like you sit in front of a woman of perfect beauty for dinner an then you notice a little black hair over her upper lip. And the whole evening you stare on this little black hair as if it was of great importance. That's me. I made a tremendous amount of words about a little black hair I found. Sorry.

Oh my.....well......that was certainly a pretty sight to behold.

How absolutely glorious!! I can't wait to use it in-game and appoint it a lavish and glorious setting :)

What a crazy and cool looking building. The brown white patttern looks funny and reminds me of a 70s kitchen wallpaper.

Say, is therr a real life building like that or did you design it?

However, i love it and all your other work.

Let me know what you think :)

*splutter* I... erm... well... *cough* *cough* It might do. *gasp*

Sheesh, you present such a building out of thin air? Very dark glass, but I suppose that's just how the building looks IRL. The rooftop of the podium is pretty funky, too. This will definitely take some getting used to in SimCity's world of drab unicolour rooftops.

Nice one! The noise textures look inflated, though. I haven't seen the real building but the noise setting is very obvious.

Oh darn!

You certainly know how to get a BAT out quickly!!! Looks amazing so far, and will be very good to have a resi from you, hopefully a good growable ;)

Anyways, here are some pics just for the reference points and so others can see what it looks like. This building does have some really quirky colours

As you can see the colour change is actually glass.

Woah, craziest building i've seen in a while.Actually i don't like modern buildings, but this counts just for soulless glass and steel monstrosities or way too overpriced stuff (i am talking to you, NYC and Dubai)...

But this one is really cool and bringes some fresh blood into architecture.

BTW, is theat a tapeworm pretending he is a pedestrian bridge?
