Monthly challenges of 2014/15 where nice. New Hamptonshire challenge never got anywhere the last unfortunaly ! Maps are nice specialy Bridges Challenge and New Hamptonshire. Eco challenge ! Maybe there´s room for this challenges as well ? Would love to see something like that back on Simtropolis. Monthly challenge region with all maps would be nice to make !

Wondering how you keep the distance between land level and sea level at such size there allways a decent bridge to navigate boats under ?

Sincerely yours,

kschmidt

I know the chain is on its way out, but here's a WIP of a '90s style Kmart.

I would like to release the Fortress as soon as possible so I'm going to leave it up to you, the player, to chose 1 out of 2 different skins.
I went ahead and rendered yet another textured version. They are shown naked. No MPP no base texture, what you see is what you get.

So here is the the one I have shown you before.

And here is the new one, you can clearly see the texture difference.

I will be uploading only one, chose wisely.

Both textures are fantastic. I think I prefer the new texture, but it was a hard choice.

Simmer2   it's a tough choice but I think the second variation although both would be excellent (I'm greedy)

On to other interesting items. I was playing with a piece of wire and when I decided to wrap it around a chunk of iron and apply power to it, this happened...

@JulianMIA that, that's a really good idea! I would move those fence props from there though. If you were interested on playing a bit with gMax, you could even make some sloped wall props to replace them, as to make the retaining wall not fully vertical.

Thanks!  I am definitely going to take the fence out, these were just some lots from a different area I was using to take a look at the retaining wall technique.  I am going to try to actually do final lots with the same fence raised up 15m to try to line the HSR with it and see how it looks, would be cool if I can get it to position just right.

In the end I think I will probably do a combination of both techniques - elevated HSR with the lots around it and raised earth with the retaining walls.  I realize there will be soooo much of it there is plenty of space to do both...

I would love to do gMax but decided against it because I think if I get started with that I will just end up making things and never getting the city built!  But you're right I think it would look better than perfect straight up and down.  Although the new elevated rail ramps built here in downtown Miami are actually straight up and down so we will see.  Will post updates!
