Isn't it quite unlikely that rounded glass is used. AFAIK it's very expensive and people avoid using them and use several frames with glass in between them instead.

Also, our REAL leader should be Dirk :)

...and thus begun the great Simtropolis Civil War of 2013.

I like the bland concrete walls, however I think maybe they need to be weathered, or graffitied? Maybe some little bits of moss could work wonders.

Skyscraper, I used round glass simply because it "flows" better with the stairs. Overall, it gives of a vibe of wealth, which is what I intend to do with these walls, hence why they are fairly new and shiny.

However, Yoshi, I do plan on adding planters extending from the wall. I had attempted to do this a while back, but I did not have the tools necessary (I was using a craptop laptop).

Just a very small, very quick update:

    8afcd250768d69a1cd43e092e716665f11d7c3b4

I will add parking spaces "into" the MSE wall. This is of course very preliminary and I just slapped some basic textures on, but at least it gives you an idea of what you can look for. If you wish to see more versatility in these lots, which of course I do as well, please let me know of what ideas you have in mind! In other news...

    8afcd25076aad10a77e236eb2c3da9f910065b9a

I'm experimenting with water, depth and refraction. I stumbled upon a fairly good setup as seen above. I may "cut this up" into sections, akin to how one would with a cake, and make a basic canal set. This will set me back a day or three from my other BATs. Is it worth it? The river set would be highly versatile, as it's well... Just a river. :)

Thanks for the kind words everyone! The orthogonal set will be done tomorrow or the next day easily. You can help finish it quicker by choosing one of the three options for how the above models will be utilized in terms of scale:

    1. Standard Definition Render:

    8afcd25076aad10a77e236eb2c3da9f910065b9a

    2. High Definition Render:

    9442062219_39b3052fb8_o.jpg

    3. Model scaled up so the HD zoom 6 render seen in the previous image will equate to the zoom 5, standard definition of the model. You will see the details of the above image at zoom 5 instead of zoom 6 essentially.

Please chose one of the three options listed above. It's instrumental that you give me a vote; I would greatly appreciate your input on this BAT, especially at such an important stage! :)

Stairs down.  You can do both parallel and perpendicular to the wall.

Good idea! A lift may be good as well - those elderly Sims and those sitting in a wheelchair will be grateful and even more loyal to their beloved leader!

Option three it is! Now, the next question: How scaled up is the zoom six model from the zoom five model; how much a model magnified when I zoom in on it by one level?

Looks great - will we be able to plop stuff on it?

    Yes, this will be possible.

Just a heads-up, I'll be releasing some old industrial stuff soon. This was from a very, very long time ago but I imagine it'll be a pleasant surprise nonetheless. ;)

How about having the river bed made into ground texture and grass a prop so that it receives shadows?

That'd probably work quite well, but I don't see shadows as that big of an issue; it's present in all other canal BATs. In the event that I do go this route, must I do a top-down render of the model

I guess it's not that important (the shadow issue) and I do presume that you'd have to make top-down render of it. But I really have no experience with LE texture making.

I didn't realize that this was a canal. You said in your comments it's a river. lol. I guess it can be interpreted as a "rural" or agricultural canal?

Oh and transparency, you don't get a water so transparent with deeper waters and I'm not so sure about level of transparency with the running water either. I'm just trying to be of as much help as possible.

It's a fairly shallow canal/river. Think of it as one man-made or partly thereof; something of the industrial runoff or agricultural sort. If you wish to see a deeper canal though, don't worry. There will be more opaque water pieces for the center. Before anyone asks, I'll not that the straight edges of the canal (at least in this section) are due to the need for the water lining up nicely with linear retaining walls.

Nice work! BTW, where can I get that "My Little NAM Team" billboard? :P

Ah yes, I forgot about that. No worries, it'll be here as a link in the forums soon. ;)

Wondering about those industrial buildings I had briefly mentioned?

    8afcd25076a6f37e60f687718bdb3d5109bc5880

    Wonder no more!

    8afcd25076b04e6a6646936537f5dfd3edb2c8df

These buildings from way back (years ago) have been re-textured and re-purposed as of today. They will be in the form of modular, generic additions to your industrial landscape. This specific one is quite deteriorated, albeit serving a limited and augmented role (akin to nearly all of Detroit's industrial scene). :P Keep in mind that all textures except for the concrete and some metals are interim.
