HD preview is beautiful, but the crack is too clear, I think with the distance, they should beings  more blurring.

The night view is great, I like the reflection on the grate too ;)

The in-game pic looks great! IMO, it's easier to comment on than single pieces because you will probably not use the final result as individual pieces, either.

Those pillars and the night lights look great as well. One thing I've been wondering about (But was reluctant to mention for fear of getting on your nerves :P ) is whether the cracks in general might be a tad too prominent. I guess there can't be a definite answer because it all depends on how aged you want the road surface to appear. The way it is now, it looks pretty run-down to me... not just older and well used, but actually run-down and deteriorated. I don't know if this is what you were going for, and maybe others perceive the look differently.

In any case, let there be no misunderstanding: I'd happily take these pieces as they are, too! :golly:

Yes, I am indeed going for a run-down and ill-maintained look *cough*GardinerExpressway*cough*. The previous pictures were renders, here are in-game ones:

    8afcd25076185a79db80f389db6a2b8c62bb4fa4

Keep in mind that the cracks will appear more prominent (more black) because they have black sealant.

    Enjoy!

I'm loving this. I'm just not sure about them being HD. I'm just worried that they might look weird in other zooms compared to the rest of the things. And supporting columns might be a tad too reflective.

Don't worry, you won't notice the reflection in the columns since they are under the road deck, cast with shadows.

Thank you for the kind words everyone! Things are really starting to come together now:

    8afcd25076a70fb1b79f1e90466ee96b2da85b6c

I think the HD props look alright, the cracks are more noticeable and less blurry, which in my opinion looked less realistic; the very nature of cracks governs that they should have jagged edges, which is more explicit in HD.

    8afcd250768e5dba3b5f4137f4bfc224b6f0dc10

Besides re-rendering these in HD, I also added lamp posts and darkened the green colour to something more suitable. Be aware that pillar placement issues are int he process of being fixed, they will no longer clip through the girders.

    8afcd2507662369f137db5cf2295ae043595b62f

Now before anyone complains, keep in mind that metal beams are often quite glossy. I often get this comment, so I just wanted to make you all aware of my reference material. Also keep in mind that the aforementioned reference material, as seen below, is of an older highway in Japan:

Thank you everyone for your continuing support, I hope you enjoy the progress!

    This looks incredibly good! Wow.

(Odd, from post 665 on, all fonts have become bold :P )

I know, eh? What's with that boldness? Also, thanks for the kind words both of you!

    EDIT: Fixed?

Still very bold. I don't think it has something to do with you, since literally everything is bold (location, quote buttons, 'next topic'-links, etc.). The forum clearly can't handle the amazing quality of your work :P

It was fixed briefly while I wrote that post. Obviously the forum is experiencing sensory overload.

Once again, thanks for the comments everyone, it's one of the driving forces that keeps me going! Here's the latest:

    8afcd2507626bde9493dc84be2b6fca488417456

This piece will act as a transition bewteen ground RHW and ERHW. Obviously I still have to add the abutment.

    8afcd25076c55eff7808edb831343225377cbf0d

Quite preliminary at this stage, but you can expect something like this later on:

    bridge-abutment-407-427-.jpg

    Enjoy!

Just whipped this up in a few minutes:

    8afcd250762a553ccdd94a10fdb404e591eec4e7

It's a little less preliminary. I'm sorry for the obvious errors in construction/texturing, but I'm tired from an all-day excursion in 'Murica. ;P

Alright, I absolutely hate the urban concrete style that the US uses compared to the slick, fresh ashphalt of Europe/Oceania.

But these reskins are actually so darn good, I'm considering using them in my city. You're doing absolutely wonderful, and I have nothing but praise for your work. :)

Dated infrastructure: one of America's weaknesses. The more of these RHW mods and additions I see, the more I want to keep trying to use them, despite repeated failures to do so.

But it sounds to me that you do not live in United States, correct? In that case, are you from Canada?

    Correct, what tipped you off?

I've still got some "construction" to do...

I certainly can't speak for them, but for me it would have been the "all day excursion to 'Murica" :P

Plus you used to have Canada listed as your location on your profile.

On to today's work: All I can say is Ooooh. It is looking really, really awesome! The texture is so detailed, one of the best retexture projects I've seen. :D

    1. ('murica) - That name is typically used in a derogatory sense, but is mostly used in English-speaking countries. Its use, however, is very uncommon in the United States, especially in conjunction with the word 'excursion.'
    2. You seem to have mentioned the Gardiner Expressway several times, implying that you are either familiar with Toronto's infrastructure, or you are obsessed with crippled elevated structures.
    3. As ROFLyoshi pointed out, the concrete road surfaces seen here are typically used on North American highways, which would lead me to believe that you may reside within that continent.

What this tells me is that although you may reside in North America, your mentioning of the Gardiner Expressway and seemingly pessimistic outlook towards the United States could point to you living in Canada, or more specifically the Greater Toronto Area.

Looks like the grimey 60+ year old Eisenhower age freeway roads that are all too common around here. :kitty:

You are about 50% right and 50% wrong. ;) I was born in Canada, but half of my genes are Canadian whilst the rest are American, my mom is from Utah, and believe it or not, she isn't a Mormon (I get that question, very, very often. Yes, really). In fact, I do have dual citizenship, and often go to the USA. Besides that, I love urban decay I fap take pictures or draw all sorts of examples of urban decay, and highways are a goldmine for that.

Idk why it reminds me of Counter Strike :P

Looks great, only one thing, those walls textures should be more smooth, to get the feeling of how old and dirty that wall is.

I saw this just now and I wanted to point out, as someone from the states, I actually say 'murica a lot.  :P A good amount of my friends say it too.
