@Bipin: There was alot of files for that set, so i started testing one by one, and it seems to work with the file wmp_dummies.dat. Does that make sense?

    4 hours? That doesn't seem right... What are your computer specs?

     

    I have a very good computer (i7, 16 gigs of RAM 6670 HD) but since it's such a large model, it takes quite a while. As well, imported .skp models take longer for whatever reason I find.

    You keep having trouble with .skp why not just save over as a .max file? Save yourself some strife. 4 hours for something, that frankly, shouldn't take that long is a bit ridiculous. If it takes over 30 minutes to render a day view of something that isn't extremely complicated, relook your materials or figure out whats taking so long.

    The problem is not files that are saved as .skp, but files imported from Sketchup into 3dsMax. I prefer the Sketchup toolset; it's much more intuitive to me, and I don't want to lose that. Also, there are a ton of materials. Most renders take 20 min. though. That was a special case.

    Just wanted to show two quick little things:

    I wanted to demonstrate two things in this picture. First off, the LODs on the T21'ed highway are tight enough that buildings can be placed in/around the columns and under the highway nicely. Secondly, I can make some simple lotted pieces with existing props to cover overpasses and abutments. This will also allow for greater customization instead of a single or randomly selected family of T21s. All I need to do is realign them. Enjoy!

    Lovely! But one of the highway pieces is backwar :P

     

    Yeah I know, plopped it incorrectly. I was in a bit of a rush this morning given I had to go to school in 15 minutes. ;)

    And just a thought, you should have these living modules as separate BAT models, I'd have some great ideas set out for how to use them :P

     

    Oh and....I just hatched an idea...

    Lol KonstantinII those prefabs and living modules won't be finished for a while just to let you know, plus I've got the lotting covered, I feel it's only right considering I have a game that those prefabs those based on and am using props specifically to create that atmosphere. When you actually download the files upon release then you could lot them to your liking :)

    Indeed this is true Huston. I will not be here to BAT at all for the nest two weeks as I have final exams. The extent I'll be seen here on this website is posting comments here and there; which are highly unlikely to contain any BAT progress. Sorry that's what's happening, but I can't do anything about it. It is what it is.

    It looks like render time is longer if you are using bump maps and transperent materials.

    Yes, that's correct. Just by the nature of 3D modelling though I expect that to be the case for anyone.

    Looking great! Shouldn't the colour be a tad darker, though? I' mainly looking at the green here, but even the red could do with a slight darkening IMO.
