It is these that manubeas is talking about, and I agree, beautiful. Especially the last one. But you have to remember that these were made almost 2 years ago. So I don't see any CJ coming out anytime soon.

Hey guys, I'm really glad to hear you guys enjoy my region. I'm still playing the game, but I've had that region put aside for the last couple of months. I just started working on a new region, but I might pick up the old one and show you how massive it really is.

And it's great to know that you're still around. Your suburbs are probably one of the most insane I've ever seen.2.gif

Here are some pictures of my recent developments in my city Lakeshore City.

springsideoct1825912141im6.jpg

Above is a development called Springside.  To the right is the freeway called Deerfoot Trail and it runs along the north side of the city eastbound or westbound.

springsideoct1825912141so9.jpg

Here is another interchange of Deerfoot trail a little west of what we just saw.  You may have notice by now that there is no grids here.  All custom work.

springsideoct1825912141au4.jpg

This is still Springside, however along Thatcher Bldv. (north of Deerfoot Trail; in the picture above Deerfoort trail bears southwest).  The development here runs along a chain of mountains.  Many developers are looking to expanding this area north once infrastructure costs are evaluated.

mountviewjan11221121408tb9.jpg

This is another development called Mountview.  Here, Thatcher Blvd. crosses through some residential housing and through  the University Campus.  To the top you can see the medical wing of the campus.

Just on a final note here, if there is enough interest in these pictures I will look into creating a city journal.  Give me some feedback and keep up the great suburbs guys.

Cheers.

Great work rusty. I really like the lake in the 2nd pic and the layout of your suburbs along Thatcher Blvd.

Thought I would show some more aerial pictures of my suburbs to get this forum going again.

Lakeshore City...take 2

hillhurstapr92961214344di4.jpg

Above is the district of Hillhurst To the right you can see the beginning of a cloverleaf exchange between Deerfoot Trail and Crowchild Trail21st Avenue E heads underground for approximately 2km to avoid intersecting with the interchange.

hillhurstjul72951214344fm6.jpg

Still in Hillhurst we head east past Crowchild Trail until we see the McPherson Rd. interchange with Deerfoot Trail.  North of this is a small commercial district.  Construction has already began across the freeway on more residential areas.

hillhurstmar42951214344qa5.jpg

Here is a closer look at Hillhurst Comprehensive Elementary School and it's surrounding areasThe school just off of Grayson Avenue.

hillhurstsep12272121417zq5.jpg

North, down Grayson Avenue we can see some commercial box stores and Hillhurst's hospital.  Patient capacity is about 25,000 citizens.  Hullhurst hospital is located at the intersection of Grayson Avenue and Pearl Road. West of the hospital is one of the cities main rail tracks.  It is headed for Connaguht; which is southwest of both Hillhurst and the core of the city.

mountviewapr16281121434je1.jpg

Now we have headed west to MountviewResturants, box stores, and small businesses are a local legend along Memorex Avenue

mountviewjun20281121434ta7.jpg

Above is Mountviews main community park.  To the left you can see the edge of the Universtiy of Lakshore City (ULC).  These are the 2 main student residence towers and they run along Thatcher Blvd.  To the right you can see residential developments along Park Street and 19th Avenue

mountviewmay42811214343ar2.jpg

Alas, we can see some more residential developments along Deerfoot TrailSirius Avenue is a main component to the interchange of this freeway because approximately 15,000 commuters use this artery each day.

Can't wait to see some more of your suburban developments.  Until then,

Cheers.

that is impressive selles.

only 1 thing though:

the houses look extremely repetitive, i can see 3 variations, but its still a bit iffy.

but excellent nonetheless.

exellent work everybody, but you should use the RURAL HIGHWAY instead... 9.gif

I'm going for the region picture mostly.  The downside to the real rural highway is that there is no appearance in the region view.  I just changed the regular speed of one ways to accomadate regular highway traffic.  This works just as fine if not better.

That's actually what I'm going for. A lot of subdivisions in the suburbs offer "cookie cutter" houses where you get the choice of maybe 5 different floor plans.

I agree 100%. That is why I don't use the RHW either.

First of all, cool suburbs Rusty and Selles! Secondly, how do you change the speeds? I know it has to be part of the code or another program...

Yeah and this is a lot more customizable.  I think the rural highway is an excellent inguenitic idea but it has no promising aspects for me.  Basically where I live there is only divided highways like I have created.

As for changing the speeds I'll have to get back to you I did this about a year or so ago and I cannot remember off the top of my head.  You know, if there is enough response to my posting of Lakeshore City I would consider creating a CJ.

Cheers.
