Hasn't here and is unlikely, and even if it does Al Gore deserves no credit.

What's all this I'm hearing about snow? It's summer! :P

To search for the ideal city today is useless. For all cities are different. Each one has its own spirit, its own problems, and its own pattern of life. As long as the city lives, these aspects continue to change. Thus to look for the ideal city is not only a waste of time but may be seriously detrimental. In fact, the concept is obsolete; there is no such thing.

These hats don't fit like they used to... It's supposed to snow a lot today, but I'm trying not to get my hopes too high. It's only raining right now.

No snow here, just persistent rain and drizzle all week. At 8°C, it's quite mild here for this time of year.

So we finally got some snow! There's just not too much of it.

And for the record, if the world has ended, it forgot about me. Which is good, because it was pointed out that I still haven't seen the movie Airplane!, and need to do that.

No flaming meteors, but there was some more snow, so now everything's actually white, rather than the tiny patches that were there last night.

It's been winter here for ages. Already been skiing lots. Welcome to Switzerland.

No flaming meteorites to report here. No more than usual, anyway.

One of the most hilarious things I've heard my students and friends here talk about is the uniqueness/specialness of Japanese seasons. They have four seasons here! Except they don't, because winter here isn't really "winter" and they almost never get snow in the areas I've lived, and where I'm at now there's basically no snow at all. So, I show them pictures of Michigan and I'm like, "We have four seasons, you guys really have like three and a half."

*In all fairness, the west coast of Japan, the northeast region (Tohoku), and Hokkaido get copious amounts of snow. The west coast is even nicknamed Snow Country (Yukiguni). THOSE guys can talk about having four seasons. Anyone from Tokyo should think about it before they say it!

Those in the tropics may disagree with you on that point - there exist only two seasons in that part of the world, the wet season and the dry season.

Those in the tropics may disagree with you on that point - there exist only two seasons in that part of the world, the wet season and the dry season.

But equinoxes and solstices are a consequence of Earth's orbit and there are two of each per year regardless of where on the planet you are. Hence, four seasons.
