25 East 193 Street

 

 

Here is a look at the variation for the 25 East 193 Street. The first version is the orignal building, version two is The white looking building, verion three is the red brick one, and the tan is the fourth version. For white looking on and the tan, and red one, I want to make the building fire escapes black. I also want to make the window frames black too. For course I will be changing the roof texture for the other version of the buildings. I have did the night lights for the first varitaion and I will post the render later.

Love this one, modeling and nightlighting is superb.  I like all the textures except the roof, which is not my style of texture; but that's just my personal preference...

Well, you have three more chances since he's going to give the variations of the building a slightly different roof texture each. By the way, it's great to see you around!

 

I love the night lights, too. Some windows really have that feel to them that you get when you're riding on a train through a city at night, and you can look into the windows of the houses next to the railway dam. You half expext to catch a glimpse of someone moving behind the windows. Great job so far, and I have no doubt whatsoever that the rest will be equally great!

Here are the renders of the apartment buildings with their own roof texture. Next, I need will need to rearrange the nightlights and the ac units for the other variations and then I can export the building.

Hi Aaron, you do great work that populates many of my cities, temporarily.

 

I'm having an issue with some of your BATs that I was hoping you could help solve. I tried to do some searching in this thread, but didn't find the answer I was looking for, though others probably have this issue too. On some of your BATs, Bainbridge and all of the Manhattanville industrial lots come to mind, I am unable to open the dialog box to make the building historical. When I click on them nothing happens. Other properties work perfectly fine and this is a consistent problem. I download the Maxis Night version of the BATs if that makes a difference.

 

Any thoughts you would have on how I can get that box to open would be great. I'd love to actually have more of your buildings stick around. Thanks!

I know the Manhattanville lots require the , which I think includes a custom query.  If you don't have that in your plugins I'm guessing you won't be able to use the query tool on those lots.

Yummy yummy nightlights.  I love it when you get a little bit of reflective light bouncing off the walls in the interior courtyard/corners.  Wish I could nightlight as good as this...

Excellent work Aaron - I am really clueless about the entire BATing process, but I have to imagine that it takes considerable time and effort to create 4 completely different night versions.  You probably don't hear it enough, because so many of us take it for granted, but thank you for taking the time to create so many variations of your models - our cities would be far more monotonous without your effort.
