Are you really questioning the NAM team's awesomeness?

They were planning on including a cure for cancer and Half-Life 3 in v31, but had to leave them out due to installer bugs.  Awesome stuff is coming.

I'd be crazy if I questioned the NAM team's awesomeness! In fact, the new possibilities in NAM 31 made me so enthousiast that I started thinking about what may be possible one day - like the things I mentioned - due to these guys. Allright, maybe "lack" wasn't a good paraphrase.

Just to make it clear: I really have a huge respect for the guys of the NAM team for all the time and work they put in it. I was just curious about what could be possible one day.

Well, I think it's been a while since I was last here. This is my newest interchange, I based it off the I-205/I-84 Interchange east of Portland(I remember driving through it and riding the light rail next to it just a few weeks ago). Click the image to see the actual interchange on google maps

Having driven on it two days ago the only difference I can find is that the ramp from 84E to 205N is below grade rather than elevated.  Very nicely done.

I am quite new to the whole RHW building, one of my first challenges was to combine 5 roads/highways:

Two large interchanges near a future harbour. They took quite a while to construct.

Amazing d_b_h :) like them interchanges

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.

Nice, but you can now use 7.5m overpasses rather than 15m for more realism! ;)

Thanks for the advice! I didn't know that was possible, I'll try that!

After a long break due to school I finally got a chance to come back to SimCity

Here is an interchange where an 18ln turnpike reaches its end and transfers to a non toll highway

This took so long but at least I finally got to use some MIS L1!

So I was scouring the Internet for different kinds of 4-way highway interchanges and I came across this and I immediately thought of you guys.

I win. :D

A real interchange has to feature at least 12 branches :P:

Btw: Nice find! Looking at these pictures I think that they might even have been designed from the same person. I found the 12-way some years ago but have neve stumbled upon the one you showed before.

"If you try to please everybody, you often times end up pleasing nobody, especially yourself. My newest interchanges in this expanding region, these will be dressed up all pretty like and with tons of development all around them when I am done with this highway project that spans the entire region, it is quite a large highway network.

This one is neat, I think it is called clover something something, I have no clue, I had to bent it a bit to make it work, I like it in this form more than I like them when they are made symmetrically.

s86n.jpg

I think this one was called a pelican, though I have no idea why, why would they call this a pelican, I have seen pelicans and they look nothing like this, anyway...

nxxp.jpg

And then this one, I like this one the most, it is so easy to do, even a caveman can do it, so simple, so elegant and 100% functional.

bkp5.jpg

I can't wait till I get to go building cities again, making this network has taken me over a week with one allnighter in there somewhere.  I still have I think 6 more 4-way interchanges to do... Yeah, 6 sounds right.

Nice interchanges! I have one question though, what kind of tunnel do you use at the last one? It looks great. ;)

That's the new Maxis highway tunnel when you install the highway override (also known as Project Symphony) in the installer of NAM 31.2 :)

Nice interchanges! I have one question though, what kind of tunnel do you use at the last one? It looks great. ;)

That is the Project Symphony(Maxis HWY makeover) tunnels.  All of my highways are elevated on a 7.5m hill so I use that tunnel extensively, especially since there is no diagonal on-slope piece for the RHW implementation(much to my disappointment).  As a result of there being no diagonal on-slope for RHW, the only way to get elevated RHW on a diagonal is to start your diagonal at the beginning of the diagonals with on-slope ending the straight sections, then even if you do this your interaction with elevated diagonals is extremely limited.

I just chose instead to raise my entire highway network off the ground by the standard 7.5 meters so I could go under it when I need to.  Thanks to the new height of the tunnels, I have since discovered that I can build my tunnels on flat ground without digging below the surface(as you see I did in that picture), then once the tunnel is constructed I can then lower the terrain above it making the height remain a standard 7.5m all the way around.  I longer have to have 15 meter rises to accommodate tunnels, YAY.

I think they are going to do everything that is possible, without cracking the .exe open. Just need time.

Indeed. The NAM Team also follow Clarke's Second Law: "The only way of discovering the limits of the possible is to venture a little way past them into the impossible." This has happened with the RHW transport map, an innovation that was thought to be impossible before the past few years. However, even without pulling a miracle like this, it's a sure bet that the output from the NAM Team is going to be spectacular in months and years to come.

A montage of three 4 level stacks constructed in my region. Don't mind the yellow patch in the corner, I may use that space for a picture of a future 4 level stack:

Most number of 4 level stacks in one region?

Imagine the head and the massive beak of a pelican! It looks a bit like the head of a pelican looking to the right.
