Those projects are looking very nice, can't wait to get ahold of them.

As for the topic of computers, I would sincerely implore you to NOT buy a $10,000 computer unless it is for a job in 3d rendering that you get paid to do.

The big difference with a guitar and a computer is the guitar will be worth the same amount or more in the future and will perform at the same level too. With the speed that technology upgrades the computer won't be worth half of what you paid within a year or two and won't be anywhere as close to being as powerful a piece of technology. It would be a terrible investment, especially since you could get a very capable machine at a fraction of the cost.

You are usually better off buying a little under bleeding edge technology as it is significantly cheaper and minutely less powerful meaning more bang for your buck. I would also look into the fact if your BAT program will even use gpu to render at all. Even if it does I would say a regular and tremendously cheaper card would do just fine.

Anyway sorry for the long post, I just hate to see people throw a lot of money at technology for very little gain and want you to be a more informed consumer. (For the record I have built MANY computers and have learned the lesson of not overspending long ago with my wallet being the real loser in that scenario.)

    Thanks guys! :thumb:

If you liked those Apple monitors you should take a look at the Dell u3011. It has an even higher resolution at 2560x1600 (twice the resolution of a 1080p monitor). It's also a H-IPS display rather than TN, so it has amazing color accuracy. It covers 99% of the Adobe color space when TN monitors average about 40%.

Also, I recommend not going the laptop route, but rather simply upgrading what you already have. You could spend $3000 on a desktop and get the same performance as that $10K laptop, and have the option of upgrading again in the future. Also, professional graphics cards are great for rendering view ports and with iray, but unless SimFox pulls off a miracle, we're still using vray rendering which only utilizes the cpu. Plus pro gpus generally terrible at playing any video game from the past 4 years since they have drivers optimized for professional applications.

The Dell Desktop isn't that classy as the apple ones! ahaha, I took a look around a couple of electronic stores... I'm still trying to find one to fall in love with, but thanks! :D

I agree with you when it comes to GPU vs, CPU

    1) I do like my computer, but seeing how much stuff can be customized (not only internally, but externally) tends to be more appealing to me than having this one upgraded.

    2) Technology does advance fast, one of the reasons why I thought of having this opportunity to sell my new computer by the end of the year to help pay for my new computer.

    3) I've been playing games and they seem alright. Simcity 4 runs crispy good in 1080+, but other games like GTA IV, Skyrim, etc are all higher on the video cards. I think I'll just get one ultimate computer that will last me a couple of years instead of upgrading every 2.5 years (like I've done since I was 13). It's only been until recently that I've taken the computer specs highly into consideration. I agree with your comments, but I think as a long term investment.. a bigger better one maybe the way to go (:

And yeah, you've all guessed right.

It's Trump International Hotel & Tower located in Chicago, Illinois! I'll be staying in the tower sometime in August, so it's definitely going to be a pleasure to build and enjoy on two levels! :D

Here's the first in-game progress photo at Zoom 3.

The building is photoshopped in there, but I think the proportions are about right. (:

Awesome job on all of your current projects, especially the Trump International Hotel and Tower. All of these projects are very promising.

The Trump Tower will be a great addition to our cities. I go to Chicago every year so it was nice to see it being built and then come to fruition. And it is always cool to have buildings in game that you have seen and visited in real life. And it will make a nice centerpiece to any SC4 skyline. Keep up the good work!

Yup! Just waiting for the real life buildings to be built so I can only release one version! I think its worth the wait! (:

And the Trump Tower... I'll get around to that when I finish up some of my other projects!

Looking great Kelly, though the I think the Trump Tower is more blue/silver in real life instead of green? I could be wrong.

It is when it's looking upwards to the sky,,, the renders show it looking downwards! (:

    UPDATES!!!

    Alright... so heres the deal!

Getting all my IDs together to get my passport then Im off to Toronto!

Unfortunately in the meanwhile im stuck without internet in the countryside! This is why updates were so spacial... but heres the good part,,, A LOT OF FREE TIME!! :D

Left Building: 204 Lombard Ave (Possibly going to be renamed to a hotel),,, Right Building: Carmine Hilton Plaza (R$$$)

    Lensblurred.jpg

The building on the left was formerly this one! ...

    WZ4-003-1.jpg

I forgot to put the nightlight screen shots for Carmine Hilton Plaza (but you can see the radiating blue night lights for the next 3 pictures)... so here's the 204 Lombard Ave ones for now...

    fdsgf.jpgdfsdfsd.jpg

And Finally Ive exported this baby!

    LindaSwampyMedicalCentre.jpg

And here's the one being exported as we speak!

    success.jpg

Anyone Guess it yet? Here's the night shots at Z4!

    Nightish.jpg

If you guess Absolute World,,, You're right! The tower is the North East tower (the tallest of four), I'll be doing one tower at a time until the complex is finished!

The release will be part of the expanding team formerly known as the "Toronto Bat Team"!

We're no longer known as the Toronto Bat Team (TBT) anymore... since we've expanded our territories to the casinos of Niagra Falls, the towering retirement condos of Windsor, the college town of London, the naturally beautiful Hamilton, the Government buildings of Ottawa, the ever growing Mississauga, and of course... the master pieces of Toronto!

Since we no longer specialize in Toronto, we've expanded to all of Ontario!

This way when we complete the icons of Toronto... we'll have more cities to complete!

So our new name is the Ontario Creation Team! (OCT), We've fully expanded to the territorial province of Ontario in Canada,

A thread will be made upon the first release (which is being rendered right now!).

So next time I gallop by Simtropolis... you should see updates, a new forum, and a couple new uploads! :D

The biggest obstacle (yet small) is the Read Me files, which are EASY!

    So stay tuned! (:

    ,Kellydale2003

So that's all I have for now! I was really looking forward to uploading something today,.

I have to admit, even though I detest the architecture of that twisted structure, you did a fantastic job on making it! :P Seriously looks great.

All of these new projects are looking fantastic - I'm very excited to see these on the STEX and add more kellydale2003 creations to my cities. Many of these look like they're very close to being uploaded!

But I was wondering, what is the status of Eight Avenue Place? I think you had mentioned that you exported it.

The tower of absolute world is indeed amazing, like the rest of your creation.

I just find, that the glass is maybe a little bit too glossy and too reflexive...

Great stuff :) Though I think the first two buildings could do with a little more roof junk. Can't wait to get my hands on the HT/Medical Centre in particular.

Great stuff all around! :golly: I'm in love with that hospital / hightech facility.

In fact, the only serious criticism I have is that I'm already fed up with that tilt-shift hype. :dead: To put it in meme-speak: Kelly, Y U NO SHOW UR BUILDINGS UNBLURRED? :P

I labsolutely love Absolute world, and I also believe that the reflection needs to be toned down a little but other than that it's amazing.

    Hospital is just fantastic.

Could really do with some standard z5 renders of the other 2 as I can't really make out what they are like, not to sure about the big block of tiling down the side of the scraper, I really liked its previous incarnation :)

    Great work all round!
