    ^^Richardson Building in Winnipeg, MB, Canada; this is just a few blocks from my home. Thought I'd give it a bat ^_^ I recently added more details and used it in a video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5ODscIThCIw. (3x3)

    ^^^Lui Plaza - Started it a while ago. But I think I'll be getting back to it. 4.gif (3x3)

    ^^^Not much eh? Think it could be a skyscraper?

    That last building of yours is quite interesting, it would  make a nice skyscraper, but it has lots of insets and seems to be quite "busy" becsue of it. Thats not really a bad thing though.

    I think that adding a balcony in the center insets might make it look better, but either way, it would still make a good skyscraper

    Wow! Great job you have there! I like the Lui Plaza, I hope it's a growable residential. Also, that box may make more sense if it was bigger and it was a mall. Great work!44.gif

    tcxalapa - Thank You 4.gif

    Xyloxadoria -
    Yeah I was just trying to get a low polygon count; kinda practicing for cities XL 3.gif but I might as well add more geometry now.
    zwi07.png

    Utvaw -
    Yep fer sure! I did already; if you'd pay attention you'd notice the link to a video there 3.gif

    @citiesxlfan42 -
    haha, I won't be doing Hong Kong Residentials that often! But I'll try do one every now and then. The reason why I've chosen to build these buildings is to incorperate them into the New World Trade Center.

    First I started off by doing a real life BAT (Richardson)
    Second I scaled the WTC's (attach pic later)
    and Third; I worked with construction and glass. (because I might build the NWTC in construction stages. I just created this really quick while I was reciting my Spanish.

    33u52ix.png
    ^^^This is only like an hour and a half of work - So for now the constuction and textures are relatively clean. 4.gif

    So you'll see buildings in this thread that will somehow relate to the NWTCs. (glass, steel, construction, scale, etc) 4.gif

    And yeah I know the building above looks really close to Simfox's Russian tower on Stex. But it's not. I got the inspiration from "Main Place" in Houston....I think.

    I'm really liking that skyscraper under construction, based on the Houston Tower...

    Very pretty and I just LOVE the glass! 4.gif Will you be making an under construction and completed version of it?

    Ever thought of maybe doing modern midrise/lowrise commercial buildings too? They're desperately needed...

    >> 2735565420_795f98ba3e.jpg for example... (Galeries Lafayette in Berlin)

    You're fantastic! I'm a fan already. I like that it looks like you're going to do some generic boxy skyscrapers. We can always use more of those. Looking forward to more.

    @Delecto - Thank you del. 4.gif

    @Carmine Hilton - Thanks; and yeah, ironically enough the glass on the skyscraper I used from this building:

    314401v.png

    ^^^I wasn't intending to finish this; but since you asked I think it might be a good idea to finish it anyways. 2.gif Should'nt take too long though. 12 floors high.

    @Globexco - Yep! The big hole in the middle is for elevators/shafts/stairs/and other junk that is needed to supply a real life skyscraper with life. I didn't work on the construction tower very much at all today.

    But I have a question to ask you guys - What do you prefer more? A crane at 90 degrees or 60 degrees?

    28bfuyv.pngoit343.png

    ^^^ 90 Degree Crane                                               ^^^ 60 degree Crane

    Here's a tiny update - Worked on the core a bit more - but you can't see it here much; but prob new pic tomorrow again.

    v2se2v.png

    @DragonAnime - Aww thanks haha

    @tcxalapa - Yep; I could have this done in one day If I had nothing to do! But there's always something to do around here and frankly I get tied in with a lot of stuff. But I've made an hour of my day to BATting. 4.gif This way I could fuel my desire to BAT.

    @TekindusT - Thanks! ^_^

    Your doing great! I like all the models. I think the crane with 90 degrees would look better. Great progress. Oh, and you know we didn't kick you out of NYBT BAT Thread right? I hope you saw my post after you made your last post their. Anyway, fine work.

    quote>

    Can more of you please answer my question so I can get started on the crane? 4.gif

    @simcity4fan12 - Yeah I know, but Kryptowhite doesn't really approve of me being there so that's why I'll be leaving you guys alone; and please don't drag this into this thread. I'm not up to discuss this here. thanks.

    @residentsim - Thanks ^_^

    @CarmineHilton - Yeah so far I'm with ya! 60 will take up less room - If I end up with 90 I will have to learn how to make BATs hangover lots and hope that the crane doesnt touch the building plopped next to it.

    But here's a little update for Carmine Hilton. 4.gif

    6ss6zt.png

    ^^^ The trees will be thicker and fuller in the final render - I'll also add little hedges and what not.

    The rectangular box you see there is an experiment with grass.

    I haven't worked on the construction skyscraper yet - Because I want to know what you guys like more. 60 or 90 cranes; I need to finish up the crane so I know how tall to make this. 4.gif

    I'm gone on a little road trip today. 20 hours of driving; so tomorrow will be a vague update again.

    I vote for a 60 degree crane, too, and have to say that that low-rise building is terrific--that is one gorgeous BAT.

    The skyscraper under construction is also a knock-out---great work there, very unusual.

    BTW, where'd you get the outdoor furniture on your lowrise BAT? I've been looking for exactly those kinds of gmax models meself, for exactly the same situation.

    Hey Kelly,

    I love these other buildings of yours. I just love your style of BATing! As for my vote, I'll go with 60 because it doesn't look as flat. I'l subscribing to this topic!

    I apologize for mentioning that.

    Another great looking model! It's so modern, I can't wait to see it finished. Well, the 60 degree crane is more prefered. Good luck with making it and your other BATs. 2.gif

    @GlobexCo - Yep I think I'm going with the 60 - and thx. ^_^

    @crushedcar - Yeah the 90 might be a bit too long for the model + a hangover will interfere with buildings plopped next to the tower.

    @thepokemaniac - Been working hard to get them on there ASAP. 4.gif

    @Victor Valdes - 60 it is!

    @gottago - Thanks...and thanks? Lol - Your lucky I'm Canadian 3.gif - Here's a present.

    @ac94 - Oh yeah! NWTC!!! 3.gif I'll start posting photos of the NWTC soon enough! ^_^ And thanks.

    @simcity4fan12 - Thanks.

    @Ny24 - Hope so! ^_^

    @TekindusT - I know what you mean! I live in Winnipeg and I've never seen a 60 degree crane in my life until a couple of days ago; there's this museum coming up near downtown - that's where my reference to the 60 is coming from.

    Maybe next time. 4.gif

    Little Vague Update!

    I know this little page flip is going to kill me - but oh well.

    fa7t75.png

    ^^^I really need to fix up the right wall and that corner. Does anyone have any suggestions? Even a photo or two for reference would be nice 4.gif I'm pretty much doing this BAT as I go - So I guess you can say I stumped myself here. x]

    Also I've added a lot more detail to the construction skyscraper.... We need a name for the construction skyscraper too.... And yeah - New Render tomorrow; someone think of a name for this under construction skyscraper!

    Yesterday out of boredom I was going through some old back-up discs from 2008 - And guess what I found!

    33u66mt.png2h3rj13.png

    ^^^ This was the building that was basically my resume/entry to the HKABT; but before I could complete it I was banned. I managed to get it into 3ds max and I added more detail to the windows. And yeah I know the textures are really off! The black windows don't go well with the details in the render - they look really amateur. The textures are actually lighter in a proper sc4 render.

    So I think I'll finish this one - Since It's basically done. Just need to build a base and the top and voila! Release!

    I know a lot of you like HK towers - Bixel spoiled you all!!

      - But I'll be BATting my HK stuff in 3dsmax7 - I like the dirtier textures; and for glass I'll be working in 3dsmax9 (since mental ray is more friendlier in there).

    But I need to get back to work! 4.gif

    Definite update tomorrow again. 4th day this thread is open and were almost on the 2nd page. 4.gif

    Thank you Everyone! 9.gif

    So you use 3dsMax7 and 9... well done! I suggest to keep them and not to buy 2010 version, because there are too muck unsolved memory bugs, for example you can make only one render, the second will stop with the error "Fatal error, can't allocate 28000000 bytes. Application will now close" at 99,9% of rendering...

    Anyway, good buildings. Is the first building you posted in the last post a skyscraper?

    Yep - I just gotta be careful with some of the textures I use in 9 when I put them into 7; there's a few compatibility issues...nothing too serious. And yeah I have 2010 installed; just looking at the files I knew there were going to be some issues.

    Nah - I don't think 12 floors would qualify for a skyscraper. Midrise maybe.
