In a thread with so many building (and especially skyscraper) requests, this request may sound a little odd, but technically, I'm requesting a BAT, as far as I know.

I've been searching far and wide for an MMP that allows me to make lakes from it. I do have quite a selection of MMP's and ploppable water systems, but none of it fits my needs. What I'm basically thinking of is an MMP that would fit Diggis' water system or at least have a similar color. This is a link (one of many uploads on the LEX), and a picture of it in action from my CJ:

I like the rather light color, resembles water imo best. But the main issue is: There are only orthogonal water pieces (and only lots) available. So, in order to make lake shores with irregular shape, such as diagonals or fractionally angled, I always need to place lots and then cover the space with an insane amount of MMP's such as rocks, gravel and the like, to avoid a nasty zigzag effect, which not only looks unrealistic but also costs time. The only other options I can think of are Pegasus' Tahoe water - but it is pretty dark, I usually only use it in forests and other shadowy places - and the RFR plopwater system, but this one is mostly good for rivers, because of its many turbulence pieces.

Thus, I'm searching for (or requesting) either of these options:

  • An MMP with a color that can be combined with Diggis' water system that allows me to make lakes of any shape,
  • An MMP with at least a similar color that isn't too small, and doesn't have turbulences.

Have you tried any of these?

The first one is transparent so maybe that's not what your looking for, the second one may fit better, it has a similar texture but a bit brigther. The last one is a "water paint brush", but you can do some really good things with it (a bit too dark though, so maybe is not what you looking for too lol).

edit: If you know a bit of photoshop you could just edit the color of the Pegasus Tahoe Water, since the model is a simple texture without turbulences and etc. it's not hard to just select it and change the color using photoshop.

Thank you so far.

I already know the first one, and since itis transparent, it's probably not the best choice for making a lake, but I'll keep it in mind (I already have it, anyway). I'll definitely give the second and third one a try.

As for modifying Pegasus' Tahoe Water: I only have GIMP, and I already tried something similar before. I couldn't find a way to get the FSH textures baack into the game, GIMP doesn't let me save it, and if I export it as a PNG, GoFSH doesn't accept the files. But, anyway, as I looked into the files, I was quite surprised to find that in Reader, the patches of water looked brighter than how they look in-game:

Sentinel Building, San Francisco (aka Columbus Tower)

san-francisco-financial-district-view-eddie-hernandez.jpeg.ce701546c1fba3a2b531edb86e0ee57b.jpeg

Wikipedia article, showing several more views

Description:

Columbus Tower, also known as the Sentinel Building, is a mixed-use building in San Francisco, California, completed in 1907. The distinctive copper-green Flatiron style structure is bounded by Columbus Avenue, Kearny Street, and Jackson Street; straddling the North Beach, Chinatown, and Financial District neighborhoods of the city. Much of the building is occupied by film studio American Zoetrope, and the ground floor houses a cafe named after the company. The Sentinel Building is listed as San Francisco Designated Landmark No. 33.

Why this would be beneficial for the game or community:

It would be a lesser known but beautiful addition to the library of San Francisco BATs. More generally, there are not many Flatiron-style buildings in this particular flavor and bright, iconic color. If created with the awning, cafe and sidewalk tables on the ground floor, it would also add a mixed-use feeling building, which is also not as abundant on the STEX.

@Wallibuk has done a handful of them, but mostly Brazilian, Mexican, and Central European. In my experience, many Central European buildings can pass for Latin American ones if you don't mind too much the colours.

Wallibuk's are more country-side slum oriented. Those buildings in the pics are more French Creole urban and are slim to none here.  I have hunted for years for them to recreate New Orleans, and have maybe less than a handful. Closest you may find are assorted residential/commercial in various Paris sets, and they'll be fairly drab, color-wise.

You will find the model in here

Do you happen to know what you saved it as?  I have hundreds of props from you in my dependencies folder and can't seem to find it in lot editor.  Either the name or the 0x12312231 number each prop has that allows one to search through the list.

Here's a request...anyone willing to take over the task of making all 50 US State Capitol buildings? There are some nice looking (and some hideous) Capitols in this country.  I think a functional landmark with civic jobs would work nicely

Given the amount of time BATters need to make a building, this would literally take years. What about making a short list of the most interesting ones?

I can make 1x1, 2x2 or 6x6 lots of "ploppable" water but I doubt they will fit the Diggis' water system.

I would say the following would be a good mix - based on size and design -

Indiana, Massachusetts, Iowa, New York, Virginia, Wyoming, Delaware, Pennsylvania, West-by-God Virginia, and Texas

Yes Please to a hockey arena.  To clarify are you talking about like professional stadium closed roof arena or like a local hockey rink?  I will legit pay money for somene to design a variety of local hockey rinks.  The fictional city I'm making is in Michigan on the garden peninsula in the UP.

 I need plenty of rinks!

Would be both.  The professional one might be a while because I have an idea to make the concept better but it’s something new I need to learn.
