And it is all finished - well it was last week - I just need to give each tile I quick pass and some tweaks, but the layout and idea is all done.  Yes the geography isnt totally real world, but with lack of water and different elevations, and so on, I have to make do with what I have. (And I really hate mountains over multiple tiles)

that is beautiful! are you going to make it one big metropolitan area or make it a multi-metro region?

I like to build naturally, so it should end up with several major metro areas as well as the usual suburban infill and rural areas.

Pop is still increasing, i' m now over 32M , empty town are being build faster since i'm in vacation...

By the way, you guys are doing impressive work ! i'm still very impressed by screenshots of that quality ( as a player, i know how much time it takes to do such work)!

I'll post some new screens soon.

Moving right along. Now in the 17th decade and just passing 70k population. Been thinking about taking some time to add more tiles to the over all region or possibly looking for a larger region on the STEX/LEX to start a new. We'll see..

Not a fan of following up myself with posting pics, but this one deserves it.

Groovington now entering it's 19th decade and just broke it's first 100k (100,303 to be exact) population. Roughly ten more years for the 2nd Century Anniversary.

Thinking once I fill all available space in the region, will probably start a new, much larger region. Feel that my plugins folder is filled with the majority of the "must have" dl's all tested and ready to go.

Plus there are a few things I would like to try and create/replicate from RL that I'm unable to on such a small region. Didn't think it would be developed so quickly.

Here's another update on Trifort, showing the original area and the expanded landmass of the region.  I divided the entire developed portion of the region so far into different counties, townships, cities (including future ones), and districts of cities a couple of hours ago.  Also, plans for a new government district on one or more man-made islands and possibly other new islands somewhere to the east of New Concorde are underway.  (I just like the idea of artificial landmasses, it's not as if the region is out of usable land, of course.)  Tomorrow I'll probably work on a transport map depicting all highway labels and names, arterial roads, and mass transit lines.

Disclaimer:  Some text labels may be hard to read because of color choice; I needed to have different colors for everything but may end up revising some of the colors.

This is the current region I am working on. I am trying to make it as realistic as possible. I know it's quite plain (it's the pre-made London) but anyway, I am finishing the upper left district.

If you don't mind my asking, which water mod is that in the "middle" tiles?

Nice to see a new water mod. It suits a lot better.

Thanks, and I totally agree. The new water mod adds that perfect amount of "pollution" to bring down the cleanliness of the bright blue.

Hitting a new milestone, Groovington is now officially in it's 2nd Century @ 120k population. I've now branched out to all the usable city tiles (14) in the region with some development. As you can see, room is beginning to become increasingly sparse around the region.

TBH, looking forward to filling in the rest of the region so I can start on a new one. Next time will be a fairly large region. Would like the excess room to be able to build on a larger scale without feeling like I'm really taxing the available real estate. With so much inspiration from all the other mayors throughout the "Show Me" section, my head is filled with so many development possibilities. Plus I'll take the grace period between the regions to do a further consolidation/organizing of the plugins folder. Plenty of lots/bats that are part of a pack that I don't particularly use in my play style. No sense in having them in the menus.

Note: These pictures were taken before I had the Slope mod installed, and yes, there are many things I could improve with the camera. I am just a beginner. :)

I just started my new region, which is intended to be a separate nation in Northern Europe:

This is my largest city, Jem City (Perle City):

And this is my second largest city in the region, Alpengeist:

I would love to hear anyone's opinion on my region.  :)

only things need to be worked on is missing palos verdes peninsula that defines la from the rest of coastal southern cali

Here is a small section [24 large tiles] of a much larger region [154 large tiles] I'm beginning to develop.  I'm in the beginning stages of laying out my freeway system after I printed a copy of the entire region out and drew in how I wanted my freeway network to look like.

Keep on truckin!

Here we are now entering the 25th decade sitting pretty @ 161k population. Starting to get the craving to create a highway system to help bring more Sims to the CBD/HT city around the top right airport.
