About This File

Pathed by Redlotus; modelled by Fosterk, Decius, DuskTrooper, and N74704.

A fully-functioning network-enabled plop allows the connection of railroad tracks at the top of the ramp descending down to a connection to the subway network at the bottom is now a possibility! Trains visually descend into the 'pit' thanks to Redlotus' pathing for the lot. (thanks!) I happened to have stumbled upon the fact that referencing non-existant base textures in the game results in a 'see-through' effect, just what was needed for this lot and its LODs to work 100% correctly.

Note: Like the Maxis network transition (el-train-to-subway), this lot has a minor 'bug' that is visual only. When plopping items around the lot, sometimes the ground texture of SC4 will 'cut through' the lot. The easiest way to fix it is to go into sub-terranean view then quickly return to surface view. It should look normal now.

Dusk ... you misinterpreted that one 100%. He/she meant she didn't like the bug, and also found it with the Maxis one (which nothing can be done about, unfortunately). No implication that this was a sub-to-eltrain transition...:/

Awesome mod. I was surprised that Maxis did not include a rail-to-sub tranistion block in Simcity 4 like they did in Simcity 3000.

Just to note, the regio runners I have ascend the el tracks and stay trains, and look perfect doing it--so why shouldn't they run underground? Just like Munich's S-Bahn, or Paris' old Quai D'Orsay to Lyon line, the suburban network will often need to go under the city...more.

If it was when you queried the lot, please try placing the lot file (I believe that is the file that has the query in it) in the main My Documents\SC4\Plugins folder, without subdirectories. Somehow that seems to help the issue with others' computers.

thank you. I can now make even more realisitc cities. (I love the traffic simulation aspects of the game, so this is just a super toy.)

This could possibly be one of the most important relevations ever in the transport system besides the NAM...if someone actually gets around to using it to its full potential like this!

Excellent lot! I have problem. When I change the Transit Switch Traffic Capacity to over 32,000 the query dialog doesn't show up anymore and the path info from the query tool doesn't show the paths over the lot. Can you take a look?

I will take a look next time I am available to do so, but I'm wondering if 32,000 is the game's limit on that value ...
