About This File

The Harbor Village by COBB:

TWELVE lots comprising a village that you can plop out in the water in any configuration you like.

Are your sims tired of their sim rat-race, and looking for a more tranquil retreat? Offer them an alternative with the Harbor Village by Cobb.

The twelve lots included in this pack are:

1) Large blue house

2) Medium red house

3) Small modern green house

4) Small cabin

5) Marketplace

6) Marina

7) Lighthouse

8) 2-tile Dock

9) Corner Dock

10) Center Junction Dock

11) End Dock

12) Land/Water Junction

Version 2 is a major overhaul done entirely by Andreas Roth, who manages the website: http://simszone.de

I am greatly indebted to him for putting so much work into the lots. He made the power usage a more reasonable level, changed the query sound, and also made very attractive and useful menu icons. Thank you Andreas!

The lots are only 25 simoleans each to plop, and incur no cost for upkeep or to bulldoze. Take note that water lots are difficult to position properly, so it may take some practice. Also note that the land/water junction lot may show up strangely unless your terrain is relatively low and level.

However, this lot is not necessary if you decide not to include it in your village. If you would like to keep your landmark menu more free of clutter, you may delete any of the individual lots you don't want (model, desc, and lot file) without harming the village as a whole. I would recommend placing all 36 files in a subfolder in your plugins directory.

The lots function only as landmarks, and do not contain residents or jobs. At this stage, they are only for appearance. A growable version is unfortunately not possible for water lots. See the readme file for more info and credits.

I hope that you enjoy using my Harbor Village!

"This is weird" ... LOL, that's true, I like his other stuff better too, but it is AWESOME that I can bring some of my cities' shorelines to harbor now! YAY 4 COBB!

I've created an extensive dock network with this and I consider it the centerpiece of my city- wonderful work Cobb. Not to throw a wet blanket on anything- but could this have a neg. effect on a city's water? Inadvertantly even?

In the Andreas Roth update, have the base textures been removed? I can fix that up real nice if they haven't ...

hey guys ... does the no-base-texture version crash your game when you plop them? It does on mine, but it might be other things i have tweaked about them.

I have removed the base textures and made a small custom UI file for the lot set, in addition to incorporating Andreas_Roth's menu icon fixes, and also added lot descriptions to the menus. You can get it (when my FTP is working)

... get it at this link. Enjoy ... it does not crash the game; I have tested them all fully and everything works a-ok.

You need the models from this download, but replace everything else with what's included in my ZIP file. Great job, Cobb!!

It would be great if you could place these in the Ports (or even Water menu) to save space in our landmarks menu. Great job, I'm going to use these immediatly! =)

i agree with Thalassicus in that they need to be in the ports or water menu, and is there a way to make a drop down list from a single Harbor Village Menu Icon?

looks really cool except I downloaded the files and placed them in my plugins folder yet I don't have them in my game?

Way Cool, I got the set to work now- just one thing, can anyone tell me how to change the direction of the arrow that shows you where it'll plop?
