About This File

KK Underground Nuclear Waste Facility
A by-product of Kloudkicker Industries

Nuclear waste is not going to disappear any time soon. It requires proper storage for long term and SC4 is not equipped to deal with this issue beside a "reward" lot you can get when you are broke and out of options. But the radiation it produces will ruin a good city and the funds received are not worth the trouble.

This is where the Underground Nuclear Waste Facility comes into play. An unconditional reward with no radiation pollution and paying you 2950 Simoleans a month. Transit enabled dual track rail for freight and passengers allows the waste to arrive by train. It will require 375,000 Simoleans to plop and 830MW/month in power, but after 127 years its paid for. A built in water pump means no water is needed. Also the negative landmark and park effects are not all that bad on this lot. And as a bonus, this lot recycles 1% trash for 100,000 sims. Think of it as the nuclear waste going here instead of the landfill. It is not cheap to bulldoze, at 62,000, so place carefully.

I recommend using this mod( https://community.simtropolis.com/files/file/29368-fully-loaded-recycling-trucks/) as way to remove the green haze emanating from the nuclear waste trucks. The game's waste trucks automata lasts 'forever' and this stops them from 'glowing'. You can use just the toxic truck reskin (Toxic Truck.dat) if you chose. This is not a dependence, just highly recommended.

Installing: For SimCity 4 Deluxe and SimCity 4 Rush Hour Only
After downloading, extract the folder and open it. Than open folder inside named "Kloudkicker" and open folder in there labeled "README KK Underground Nuclear Waste Facility". After reading the README text file inside, remove folder "README KK Underground Nuclear Waste Facility" and store it in a separate place other than the two plugins folders or discard it. Take folder "Kloudkicker" and place it in the Documents SimCity 4 Plugins folder. Enjoy while playing.

Uninstall:
Bulldoze all of the lots in every city they were placed and then remove the files from your Plugins folder. I smell smoke. Did something just go up in smoke?

Many thanks goes to all the wonderful work so many people did, including; the BSC team, TWrecks, Simmer2, the Working Man Productions Team and contributors. Thank you, to all of the Simtropolis community, SC4D and Maxis of course. But a Big Thanks goes to Dirktator, the founder of Simtropolis, for starting Simtropolis in 2002. Thank you Everyone.

This lot was designed by me(Kloudkicker) and has been tested. Much care has been take to ensure that there are no errors, but this does not mean that errors do not exist. How can anyone ensure that when the game is not perfect itself? Use at your own risk.

Feel free to use this mod for any reason. Please, just give credit when it's due. However, Do Not upload this mod to any site without my permission.

Clever lotting - I like the idea of the nuclear cargo train (although I'm sure the sims wouldn't *)

thank you  this is an absolutely critical facility to have for a truly clean & green city as nuclear is the only truly viable option for an abundant source of energy to support a highly technological civilization.  beautiful use of many excellent props and the rail access is a plus

Me:  I'm going to make a utopia with only clean industries and wind/solar etc and no pollution

Also me:  I guess I can make an exception for this nuclear waste dump because the lot is so well done

I love how nicely the lotting on it done. The rail connection with the nice usage of @Simmer2 NSB overlay set, the used props. It's a really nice work, great idea. Thanks for making and sharing it!

This is awesome!  Great looking lot with attention to the details and also a creative business deal.  Should make for some interesting calculus for the mayors who choose to go nuclear.

This isn't something that fits my playing style, but I felt compelled to leave 5 stars for the lotting effort on this one. Really well done. Some of your best work to date.
