About This File

The Shelburne Government of Canada Building (GOCB) is a federal government office building in Shelburne, Nova Scotia. The building was constructed in 1964 during the post-war expansion of the federal government and is one of many GOCBs that were built during the era. A modernist federal government building became a typical feature in small town Atlantic Canada (Montague, Antigonish, Spring Hill, Lunenburg etc). In recent decades, as Atlantic Canada has become more urbanized, the federal government has increasingly concentrated services in larger urban centres. As a result, many small town GOCBs have been left largely empty with just Canada Post as a tenant. Some have been sold to private owners, allowing the federal government to lease space back as a tenant, but a number of buildings, including the Shelburne GOCB, still remain under federal ownership. The Shelburne GOCB provides space for Canada Post and the Canadian Food Inspection Agency.

The Shelburne GOCB comes to SimCity with two versions, one with a wheelchair ramp on the front like the real building and one with just stairs that will fit on a smaller lot. The rampless version fits on a 3x3 while the ramp version fits on a 3x4. Four dependencies, which if you use any of my other buildings, you should already have:

BSCEssentials (mandatory)

BSC Mega PropsCP Vol01 (trees, cars, dumpster)

BSCTexture Pack Cycledogg Vol 1 (mandatory)

BSCTextures Vol02 (mandatory)

What a little beauty! It's so good to see new (well, semi-new ;) ) uploads from you. :golly: I remember when we discussed about the building before you went AWOL for a while... how long ago was that? Doesn't matter, now it's here. And of course, a spa upload never disappoints!

Thanks everyone! @Twrecks, embarrassed to say that it January 2011! I slowed down a bit in 2011 and then 2012, although being a really rich year in real life, was a completely lost year in terms of Sim City output.

O, Canada...!  Beautiful little mundane building. And then night lighting is superb.  Glad to see another release from you.
