About This File

DESCRIPTION

Main

Want a large and modern venue for the fine arts in your city but don’t know where to get one? Well look no farther than the Center for the Performing Arts. Created in a modern deconstructivist style of my own design, this building has 5 separate venues for the entertainment of your sims.

The building was made to mimic the styles of Daniel Lieibskind, but made for SC4. His buildings are larger on the top than the bottom, and representative of flight. They look great from the ground, but not so much from a top down game like SC4. Instead, this building is larger on the bottom and is representative of mountains.

Venues

The Main Hall- Taking up most of the building, this is the largest and most used Venue in the Hall

The Small Theatre- "Detached" from the main building, and to the right of the entrance, this is a smaller theatre for local artists, it also serves as a syphony practice hall

The Recital Hall- Located just to the left of the entrance, this room has a concert grand piano for smaller performances

The Ballroom- Not so much a venue (although it can be used as one) this room is mostly used for parties or receptions. It is located underneath the balconies of the main hall

The Amphitheatre- Located on the back of the building, this venue allows for outdoor shows.

STATS

Benefits

This building is modded to function as an opera house in game. It will appear in your rewards menu.

You can build the reward as soon as you start your city, there are no requirements to be able to build it.

The building provides a small boost to the following:

Residential Demand over the entire city

Commercial Demand over the entire city

Education over the entire city

Other Stats

Lot Size: 9x7

Plop Cost: 20,000

5 pollution of garbage, water, and air over 20 tiles.

Monthly Cost is Variable- There is a slider that determines how much the building will cost, the more the cost the higher the capacity.

DEPDENCIES

There is only 1. It is needed for an opera house to work properly in game (its not my fault maxis made an error when creating the opera house. I wouldn’t want that to be carried on in this lot, so I’m making mine require this fix)

Opera House Fix

FILES

I have inculded both a Maxis nite file, and a Darknite file. Only pick one of the two files, you do not want to have both.

I hope you enjoy this upload, and as always don't forget to leave comments.

The grass roof was added to provide insulation from the elements, not as a garden. This is an example of a building that uses such a system:

This is why people will still be playing SC4 long after SC2013 has come and gone.

This looks awesome. Would add some culture to downtowns.

PS.: I know this is off topic, but what mods do you use for your avenues to get flowers and stuff on the sidewalks?

Love it! I will call it squishy and it shall be my squishy!
In all seriousness, amazing BAT. I think it will work well near my CBD as an exhibition center :)

I remember seeing early progress of this in chat, and love what you have done with it. You made a great choice for the building texture, and the architecture of the building is amazing. And let's not forget the spectacular nightlighting. Great job, Xylox! This is a very impressive upload. 5/5 :)

I can't say I'm a fan of the architecture itself, but your work and dedication to it is admirable. The details you meticulously created here are fantastic. Great work!

You would have to ask towerdude that he took pictures of it for me and tested it for me too,
