About This File

First upload in the year 2012. (not first ever... :P)

This building is loosely based on 2 Canal Street or the World Trade Center building in New Orleans. It is not intended as an exact replica but its close but also being different.

This file comes with two versions. Only difference is that one is CO$$ and another is CO$$$ with different names.

Stats are as followed:

NPC Insurance CO-

CO$$

2871 Jobs

6x6 Lot

SimNation World Trade Center-

CO$$$

2321 Jobs

6x6 Lot

There are no dependencies to these files.

And their should be no conflicts with having both versions since different Desc. files so no worry there.

Enjoy this BAT!

Omigosh, I vaguely remember a late '70s or early '80s disaster movie where a beach hotel tower roughly similar to this building gets pummeled by a superhigh tidal wave in the final climax. The hero and heroine, of course, ride out the wave tied up in the rotating penthouse top, and afterwards find themselves standing in a completely gutted and muddied tower structure, with all the towers windows blown out by the crashing water. I do not remember the name of the the movie as I watched it as a young child and can only recall the tidal wave finale, but I am aways going plop this BAT along a sandy beachfront just as an ingame shout out.

I love this upload. Obviously it is not perfect, even far from beautiful, but it is something non-generic, and there aren't any obvious visual flaws despite a non-detailed roof or lot. Most of all, these 60s and 70s non-generic shape towers are lacking on the Stex, and 6x6 lot is very welcoming as there aren't many. A solid 5/5.

Yesterday I checked out the building, and my first reaction was "OMG, this is freaking huge!" :O This one is about as tall as the tallest Maxis commercial skyscrapers, and it's massive.

Which leads to pretty much my only point of criticism: The occupant figures are far too low compared to Maxis buildings. You could easily change this to ~7,500 CO§§ jobs IMO.

Apart from that, this model is really great, and you did a superb job with the textures as well. The windows are superb for gmax: especially on the shaded sides of the buildings, the textures mimick actual reflectivity as seen in 3dsmax BATs rather convincingly.

I think you have taken a large step forward with this BAT. I cannot wait to see what you will be able to produce with more powerful tools!
