About This File

NoMoreDozer Mod

Introduction

Hello SimCity fans! This mod is a modification to the game which I created that speeds up the ingame bulldozer to Mach 3.* (you know that yellow bulldozer thing that creates roads, and other transportation networks?) The ingame bulldozer is no more with this mod and creates your transportation networks almost instantly with Dr.Vu's Instant-Ultra-Speed-Booster-Thingy-9001! That's right, It's over 9000!

*Approximately

Files

This mod includes one file which is installed when the installer is run.

-NoMoreDozr.dat - Speeds up the ingame bulldozer to its maximum speed.

No other files are included with this mod.

Dependencies

None.

Installation

1. Unzip the folder.

2. Run the install program.

Questions? Concerns?

Please private message me (Element) here at Simtropolis.

Anyway, Dr.Vu hopes you enjoy this mod. :bunny:

Jeez, yet another mod I would never had thought of. And as always in such cases, when I start to think about it, I realise just how much and how often the in-game dozer has already gotten on my nerves.

I'll give this mod a try, it sounds really useful! If it works more or less as I imagine, you really rock! (Having set the guitar amp to eleven, of course) ;)

This takes me to the description, which is really good, too: while it tells you everything you need to know in short, it is also entertaining and fun to read. This just goes to show that you put some thought and attention into everything about this mod.

Thank you very much for sharing this contribution with us!

Awh, thanks you guys!

Oh and T Wrecks, I added some humour and kept it short so people would actually read it instead of falling asleep. :P

Do you mean when networks are created? That's not a bulldozer! Oh well, nice

Yes, because you won't believe the number of people that have absolutely no idea how install this and refuse to read instructions.

It's an excellent mod, but it doesn't play well with slope mods. I've tried it with both the BRF and Alvinheraldi slope mods, and they would no longer work with NoMoreDozer installed. Still, it's worth a 4 out of 5. :D

I've been using this mod since its appearence and it is ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT. I build grid cities and this saves so much time. Thanks for making my game more playable. 5/5

That's true, because it mods the MiscTransport exemplars, and en route the slope properties are all set back to default. So those of us who play with a slope mod should adjust the two needed values directly in the slope mod files - no big deal, thanks to Element we now know what screws to turn.

Great mod, I just love the new speeeed... :-)

I like to see the road construction crews building the roads in real time. It is more realistic, and really don't mind the added wait.

Thanks Paeng for the heads up. I'm going to see if I can add a file which combines this with a slope mod or make some other changes to combat the issue. Update coming ASAP as soon as I get some time. :)

This is funny, I did that kinda modification some 5 or 6 years ago and have been using it since, and also used it within an MP, but none of the other players seemed to have noticed, though they had that plugin too, since I was the admin and my plugin pack was mandatory. :whatevs:

It's crazy when you think how people don't notice even such obvious changes to the game.

WARNING: the following mod file will caused this mod to malfunction!

BRF_TunnelAndSlopeMod(modified).dat

I'm not a modder so I'm not sure why that slopeMod will conflict with this, even though I rename this dozer mod file to ran last (by adding zzzz prefix), it still conflict...

Ah never mind... I move that mod to other plugin sub-folder and miraculously fixed the conflict...
