About This File

G'Day Simtropians,

Well it seems San Francisco was deleted after it was pegged as bad, well it ain't bad just big. 20MB and a touch over 90km per side.

There are some special requirements for this large map:

1. A 64bit version of windows.

2. More than 8GB of ram.

3. Wouanagaine's Mapper (Not terraformer).

There is a readme included. Use it if you are unsure how to deal with SC4M files.

That's about all.

Cheers

Amazing map. Mountains, bay, rivers, lakes, ocean, flat land. This is one of the few maps made for Sim City 4. It has everything. :)

Stuff does happen my friend, everyday if you're regular. Still, it's a HELL of a map (and that means GREAT!)
Nonetheless, 8gb of RAM is beyond my personal means - but that surely doesn't make it bad/flaggable.

No reason to flag for being bad, but I do feel that it is too big. Great nonetheless, just too big for most. Any chance you could make a much smaller version of this map??? Afterall, it would be great to play it and finish the region in my lifetime lol. ;)

Thanks chaps for your comments. I found out why it got flagged and who flagged it. If one flags something not only does it auto-generate a message to the mods but also to the owner. So there you have it, if you flag something the owner will know it was you. And it got flagged because the person couldn't open the zip with the wrong program. Why it got deleted though I do not know, I asked the mods and there would appear to be some sort of but in the system. They're working on it.

Ncvegas it will give you something to work towards with your next pc build. ;<)

Thanks and cheers

Wow this is just impressive, gonna download it on my win7 desktop now. But i can just save it after and play on my macbook :).

Question, is there any way to add San Jose in there? Would be nice to have all the hi tech industry down in Silicon Valley.

Thanks guys, Carson it is probably a bit too big to add San Jose to but I now have a separate San Jose map on the LEX.

Dadeux You may not have enough horsepower to open this map, it require 64bit windows and seeing City planners' post it takes 12 minutes to open in mapper with 8GB of ram.

Thanks CP that's great info you've supplied with timings and you're puter specs. Now we know 22 tiles square will open with 8gig of ram, it just takes some time. Portie has 6gig and it's no go for him.

Thanks and cheers ;<)

I can't get it to work. I've tried both SC4Terraformer and SC4Mapper numerous times, leaving each to work for around half an hour. I have 8gb of RAM (but the maximum used by either programme was about 1.3gb).

I am a bit unsure over this region, it seemed cool and all but then I came to the problem that I don´t remember how to install the thing. I don´t no any other program that I can manage than the usual Terraformer. I instead am using myself of a relativiely new program called "Landscape Designer" and I would like to have a picture or a video tutorial on how to locate this file on my program and install it of course. I am curently on my Windows 7 computer and the game works more than fine, no lag at all but I would like to keep on my dream of building at least one realistic, well known megacity. CAN YOU HELP ME OUT HERE?

The region is the most impressive San Francisco Bay Area region I have ever seen...and I love the fact that it stretches from literally the whole bay to even the Delta region...I wish there would be someone to upload the region already generated...it would really help those who do not have 8 GB of ram...
