Please note that this Station is pretty much obsolete, having long since been included as an Option in the Network Addon Mod (NAM). The NAM version also features updated modding that will avoid potential capacity problems, which can lead to a bug that prevents entire transit networks from working. If you are using the NAM, you should not download this file, rather use the NAM included version instead.

About This File

CTA's Ashland/Lake station was built along with the rest of the Lake Street Elevated in 1892.  It was designed by an unknown architect in the Queen Anne style, with elements of Victorian Gothic.

Back in 1892, this station was identical to several other stations on the same line.  Today, there are only two of these beautiful designs remaining.  The stationhouses at Ashland remain intact, but the platforms have been extended and shortened many times over the station's century-long history.  The platforms in this model are roughly as they appeared in the 1940s.

The lot is only 1x3, with overhanging platforms, but it is meant to be linked with the NAM's Elevated-Railroad-Over-Road puzzle pieces, where those puzzle pieces cross a perpendicular road. (see the pictures, it will make sense then). Note: UDI does not work through this station, either on the roads or on the tracks, unless you drag roads through the lot after plopping it.

Lot Stats:

Lot Size: 1x3

Platform Length: 7 tiles

Capacity: 10000

Cost: $1800

Air Pollution: 1 over 1 tile

Water Pollution: 3 over 2 tiles

Garbage: 1 ton/month

z1 has a point, there is a gap between the tracks and road of the ashland and madison-wells station and also, one thing i've noticed is that on the u-drive it mode, if you drive a subway train or car, as you enter the station or roads under the station at both stations, the train and car dissapears! i dont know if its a bug or if i did something worng. someone please help me fix that problem (ardecila or anybody, please help me fix this problem)

I'm also having this problem that z1 mentioned, about the stations being invisible. Does anyone know why? Other than that, the station is excellent!

The invisibility at zoom 3 seems to be caused by the game being in hardware mode. I was lucky enough to not get the disappearing bug, but that was when I ran the game in software mode, and now that I'm in hardware rendering it's disappearing at zoom 3.

I have placed this station in a heavily populated part of my city and it reports that it has only one passenger, but the station is well beyond its capacity, curious.

This lot crashes with the new NAM it seems.

Such a shame. I love seeing these types of stations. They're very unique and I wish someone made more of them.

Good job overall.

To community:

The station will crash the game if you move your mouse over one of the road with el rail edges with a tool that has to do with mass transit. You can simply put a el rail over road near the edges and they should connect. Otherwise you'll crash :(

Well, that's usually a problem. Transit enabled el-rail lots aren't compatible with the drag tool and I'm guessing this isn't an exception.

No guys you don't understand. This station is over road, so you have to put over road rail pieces, it's included in NAM
