Duisburg Steel Mill

This is a replica of a steel mill that was in operation in Duisburg, Germany until 1970. It is now a Landscape Park? This lot can be used as a primary industry for your city. It provides 5300 jobs but is also a heavy polluter. It also uses a lot of power and water. The lot itself is very large at 12x24 tiles( most steel mills are large), 870 props, and is also transit enabled for street and rail access.

The locomotives in the picture are BNSF and the only reason for that is; I have a Dat file that replaces the game's default locomotives. You can use any road name you like or just stick with the default. All of the locomotives and some of the train cars appear and disappear on a schedule to simulate activity on the lot.

I apologize for the long list of dependencies, and I did try and trim the list down some, but it's a big lot for a big industry. UPDATE: The original dependencies used were much smaller but have since been merged into much larger "mega-packs". As for the props by gizmo, his site is currently unavailable. The props were there for 5 years, but now?Sorry. No brown boxes will appear for this Lot if you don't have those props, just a few cars won't appear.

The picture I used as a guide for constructing this lot is included with this pack.

Sweet, a major I-D employer! It's places like this that most large cities today were originally built around, even if commerce flourishes. Combined with your rail yards, the dep. list is like killing 3 birds with 1 stone... but it's SOOOO worth the trouble even for one lot! >;-) Thanks NCD!!

Go here for 'Official Maxis' downloads, including the Buildings as Props Dat files: http://www.simcities.com/main.php?page=downloads <- you need to register here as well, but you'll have fewer problems doing that than the 'official' site.

Cargo docks materials.dat is part of Jeronij's Industrial Mega pack and is located at the SC4 Devotion site, specifically on their LEX and is currently named JRJ Industrial Props mega Pack 01

I rarely download stuff with even one dependency, and I wouldn't even consider for a second downloading something with this many. As you say in your article, personal preference. I want to hit download, install, and be done with it. Hunting and downloading a zillion dependencies is just frustrating. It's meant as constructive feedback, take it or leave it. I haven't rated your item down, of course, I just wouldn't download it.

CSGdesign: Sorry, your comment and tone reflects a personal opinion and falls completely short of anything remotely constructive. Why even bother commenting?? I'll leave it and subtract a point for your comment, [click!],.."that was easy!" Next time take the time to READ "The Dependency Debate"....sheesh.
