About This File

Perhaps one of the most intricately ornamented structures in Columbia, South Carolina, the Palmetto Building opened its doors in 1913. Surpassing its neighbor, the sole skyscraper in the city now known as the Barringer Building, this goliath stretched fifteen stories into the sky. The 215-foot structure housed the Palmetto National Bank originally, but is now an office complex.

Gorgeous--as expected. But why Houston and Euro instead of the obvious NY and/or Chicago? Why CO$$$ instead of CO$$? Why only 130 jobs?

BB: he was just wondering, no need to snap back at him like that. Not like he wanted to insult SG or anything...anyways, great work Goober, 10/10.

@Marc Collins - the occupant level is from the PIM. CO$$ or CO$$$ is a judgement call depending on the type of businesses in the building. I share your concern about the tileset choice though. The building itself is, as ever from SG, excellent.

SimGoober, you have outdone yourself. All your BAT'S are fabulous, but this BAT is totally exceptional.

The PIM picked the occupant values. The building is from the southern US, hence the houston tile set.

Fair reasoning on Houston if you are going by geography rather than style ...

I particularly like this one, SG, probably because it fits the style of many buildings in Montreal where i live. 10/10! Bravo

Ya it's nice! I'm from Montreal, just like Cataclaw and I have to say I do see the ressemblance with some buildings around MTL. Great work SG!

i am a bit upset that you are makeing all these buildings growable, i would like to see them plopable because i can't use the houston, or euro in my city. i still give it a 10 it looks great i just wish you would do more plopable, ie this building and your other iron building. thanks and great job

Very Nice !!! Really captures that beautiful early 20th Century style that graces so many American cities.. Reminds me of the Lit Brothers Department Store in Philly (although Lits was not as tall as this).. That is a building maybe you could consider doing? Anyway great job.
