Finding or modifying a radius mod to work with CAM 2.1.0?
Han Solo posted a topic in SC4 - Custom Content
I''ve just tried installing the "More Realistic Radius", and the "Radius Doubler Mod" mods but neither appear to work with my install. My suspicion is that they're incompatible with CAM as one user in the comments for Radius Doubler Mod mentioned that it isn't compatible whilst another said it was compatible with the Rural version of 2.1.0. I'm kind of leaning toward the first user being correct as my Plugin folder is pretty much just NAM, CAM, the various bug fix dats, and a couple of embankment lots. There's nothing that would change the radii of lots. Is there anyway of me, a modding novice, making More Realistic Radius compatible with CAM 2.1.0, and is such a practice against the rules? [EDIT] I forgot to mention. I have installed iLive Reader 1.5.4, and I did try just changing the coverage radius (I can't remember the correct name) of some of the buildings but it had no effect in game. -
I hate the radius circles used in the game because the radius leaves certain areas uncovered. They should be squared not in a circle since the tiles are squares would make coverage more helpful. Any other players feel the same way?

I've been using this plugin in my city: https://www.sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=3842 I think it's great, as some of my cities are quite hilly, to be able to setup mobile coverage for them. But, it would be nice if there was some sort of coverage map while using this lot that showed the signal and where it did (and didn't) reach, based on the location of the cellsite - along the lines of the fire/police coverage maps. Does anyone know of a plugin that does this, or am I thinking of the impossible? I work in Telecommunications, so find this sort of thing really interesting (same thing for radio and TV coverage as well) Thanks

Building Education & Health Buildings: Big vs Small?
Psiman posted a topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
When building a city, I more often build the larger versions of education and health buildings, mainly so I don't have to have an elementary school or small health clinic at the end of each street or so. My city isn't full of skyscrapers, and so the usage/local funding slider for these buildings is low, especially for education buildings which use only a small fraction of their capacity. I suppose if the city had ever got to high-density then it would been good to have had things all ready prepared, so it would be just a matter of adjusting the sliders. How do you go about building education and health buildings in your growing city? Do you go for the big buildings with their large radius, but little-used capacity, or small buildings, which would be more efficient in capacity used, but have small coverage area and thus require greater numbers? Or maybe a mix of both, in some organised way? -

More Realistic Radius v1.0 By: BrianD90 Hosted At: STEX This mod increases radius on most civic buildings to improve realism. The small high school and elementary school have had their radius doubled. The large versions of each can cover an entire large city tile. The library has had its radius doubled also. I kept the small schools down to just double so you can still ease usage of the large buildings where needed. Its silly that the large schools could not cover an entire city but you won't be able to "cheat" by only placing one as it will become overcrowded very quickly. The private schools have been increased by 25%, I kept them small so they can be used in "higher income" areas. To prevent people from only using 1 police or fire station in a large city I've only doubled their radius. The landing strip will cover the entire city and the deluxe police station has a slightly bigger radius than the large police station. The police kiosk remains unchanged. Hospitals can now cover an entire large city but same as large schools if you attempt to use only 1 it will quickly become overcrowded. The clinic remains unchanged as to ease hospital usage from low to medium density areas. Enjoy! This is my first "mod" -
For what I’m trying to accomplish, as far as I can tell, I should be using either SC4 Tool or the iLive Reader. I would like to be able to edit certain parameters of buildings in the game. For example, changing the radius for police, fire, education, etc. I would also like to change how much power is generated from power plants, how much water is generated by water pumps and towers, etc. Basically do everything (hopefully) that can be done in SimCity 3000 here. I’ve tried both SC4 Tool and iLive Reader but can’t seem to find the buildings I’m searching for. I’m truly starting from scratch and need some assistance on either of these programs. Any help is greatly appreciated!

I'm experiencing a weird bug all of a sudden. The coverage radius of my schools and libraries is decreasing every time a new month starts. There is no consistent pattern as to how much it decreases per month. If I start it as $120 for school bus coverage it will decrease to anywhere between $59 and $95 the next month (generally $59, $79, or $95) and eventually gets down to $1 after about 6-8 months. I have removed the plugins folder as well as the NAM auxiliary, STEX downloads, and LEX downloads folders from documents/simcity4 I don't know why this is starting now. I recently switched to software render due to some graphics issues but I don't think that should make any difference. I also downloaded the following mods recently: JBSimio's School Packs: () () Wleader's radius doubler and cost x4 mod () MadHatters low wealth shops v1 and v2 () () DarkMatter's RoadTop Mass Transit () BSC Texture Volume 1 (https://www.sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=90) BSC Mega Props (https://www.sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=475) But I remove the plugin folder and the problem continues even if I delete and rebuild any schools so I don't believe any of these could be the problem. Anyone have any suggestions or experienced anything similar? Thanks for your help
