This is the future site of the town of Bailey. This is where the two rivers meet and become one. The one in the upper left corner is the Bailey River, named for the famous SimNation explorer George Bailey who discovered this area in 1900. The other river, which is the main river is the Etowah River (a local river near me here in Georgia), which was named after a local tribe of Indians. This is several years later (sorry, I wanted to get it nicely developed before I took a picture) as the town has grown into a nice place. This is a night shot that shows the nice, small town, business district which is three blocks long and two blocks wide. The park you see on the right side of the picture is Observatory Park, named for the Observatory which is obviously located in the park itself. This picture was taken in the mid-1960s. This is the newly built Northwood Estates, a neighborhood that was designed after the city's planning commissioner Thad Nameless returned from a recent trip to the big city of Fairfield. Upon his return he proclaimed "This housing development design of the FUTURE!! Fairfield which until a few years ago was a small town like us started to build these on the outskirts of its own city limits and Sims from all over are flocking to them in droves!" Taken in late 1969, this picture shows how things are quickly beginning to change. The major roads into and out of Bailey have been upgraded to four-lane highways (this was accomplished so quickly by working day and night for four years, a move that ultimately cost the city it's highway crew due to anger over long hours and low pay). You can see how downtown has gotten nicer, a new apartment building has gone up nearby and the town has attracted the major American retailers Wal-Mart and K-Mart. (Both stores had resided in their current locations for years before until the highways were widened, then both stores were torn down and rebuilt in the same locations.) That is all for now, hope to have more soon. In between my first city journal (Riverside) and this one I had an experimental city based on Miami that turned out to be the largest city I've ever built, unfortunately after I'd built it up I didn't care for the map design I had used as it posed some major problems and thus deleted it. Sorry to go off topic there lol. I also have a partial list of downloads from the Site Exchange and would like to thank the following: (If you see something in my city that was your upload let me know so I can give you credit, don't want to offend anyone.) Thanks for the replies everyone. I'll look for that diagonal dirt road mod, and as for the farms on the main highways I do plan on redeveloping them. This isn't even going to be the main city in the region, I haven't even started on that one yet lol. Gonna be studying some maps of cities and do a lot of planning so I can get it to be pretty realistic.

First off I want to thank the creators of the following STEX Downloads. (It's been a while since I downloaded them so I can't remember the creator's names, sorry. ) Bridge Height Mod NAM Beaches for Irregular Coasts GDV Mayor TropSea Set Plugin_090_SuperDemand NDEX_Garage_STEX1 & 2 RHS Blvd. Parking Set Simoleon RH Jane Toren_GROW **I'll go through the STEX and find which files I downloaded so that I can give proper credit.** **I am using some cheats and mods as I want to create a realistic region.** This is my city, Riverside. Future metropolis in the Southeastern portion of SimNation. It is a small city at this point that has been built on an agricultural economy. It currently has around 13,000 Sims. The city of Riverside was founded in the year 1900 by the famous explorer Thomas Goode. Unfortunately he overslept the day everyone decided to name the new town and Riverside was chosen. In a fit of anger Thomas Goode left the new town and went a few miles down the river and founded the small village of Goode's Crossing (not currently on the map). With this new region becoming a hot spot for growth SimNation politicians needed to name the newly found river. After much debate the SimNational Congress chose the name of Yellow River, but Thomas Goode had another name in mind. His brother was a janitor at the Congress building and when everyone had left for the night he changed the name of the river to the Goode River. Here is a current picture of the Riverside area: After the politicians found out about the name change they were so furious at Thomas that they poured all of their funding into the city of Riverside in an effort to keep him from building his own community. **It's late so I'll just leave it at this for now and continue later.** UPDATE: I wasn't too happy with imageshack hosting my images so I changed to picturetrail.

Thanks for the encouragement, I'm gonna delete all of my downloads that I have and redownload them so that I can give credit properly. I'm also gonna look for some regions on the exchange because instead of a metro area I want to do Sim Nation lol.

Well, I hate to report to everyone that over the weekend a storm passed through the area. Stupid me forgot to turn off my computer before I left for Florida and it was messed up, gonna be playing on the other computer in the house. Unfortunately I couldn't salvage Riverside so I'll try and start something else.

Thanks for all the great comments everyone. I'll be away from my computer from this Wednesday to Sunday for vacation. cityhawk - yeah, I've gotta put in a water treatment plant and figure out how to clean the water up lol. SC4Noobie - my plans are to build on every city square available so that I can get a good regional population going, then Riverside is gonna become the primary city in the area. Right now I plan to grow Riverside much like a lot of cities, surrounded by farms and then growing into a large city, I'm mainly looking at Atlanta as my poster since it is the closest big city to me in the real world. I'm a big fan of building a small downtown area with skyscrapers surrounded by low-rise growth, and when the freeway system is needed the real sprawl will begin and suburban office parks will be born. As I said I'll be busy for the next few days but I'll try and update again tomorrow.

Update #2 This is an updated region shot showing Goode's Crossing, Llama Cove, and Riverside Heights. These three new towns have helped bring the population to just over 20,000. This is a picture of the small town of Riverside Heights. This town is located across the river and just north of the city of Riverside. It was founded by a few sims who got lost in a fogbank trying to find Riverside, they came across a small outpost and lazily decided to establish a town there. This is the downtown area of Riverside Heights. It is a small area as most of the regions current commerce is located in Riverside. The district is one block wide and two large blocks long. The train tracks that you see are bordered on both sides by grass so that a continuous flow of greenspace can be seen throughout the region. (This greenspace is continued along the tracks throughout Riverside and soon Goode's Crossing. Now we move on to Llama Cove, named after the cove of water that is naturally shaped like a Llama's head and neck. This town sits north of the river from Goode's Crossing, currently there is a ferry that shuttles sims back and forth among the two towns. Llama's Cove was established after William Goode's pet llama ran away. William chased the darn thing up the length of the cove before he finally caught it. On his way back he figured that if his brother could establish a town then he could to, and so Llama's Cove was born. A return to Riverside, the city sure has changed, well...somewhat. Just beyond the borders of this picture lies a new four-lane highway that encircles the southside of the city. The farms are still in place, but some high-tech industry has begun to move in, fueled by the hundreds of new graduates from the Riverside Community College, pictured below: Riverside Community College, situated in downtown between the Main Street bridge and the railroad bridge. It has separate baseball fields for its regionally known Men's and Women's teams. There are currently plans to build a bigger facility somewhere else around the city so that dorms can be built to house students. Now to the northside of the rivershore we find the district of North Riverside, home to a few industrial businesses, but mostly farms and new housing. A great tourist attraction is also located here, the Riverside State Fair is located along the rail line for easy access so that citizens don't have to drive and park in the mud. **That is all for now, it may be next week before I update again as I am going on vacation Wednesday and I don't know how much time I will have to play before then.**

That looks like the Panama City, FL area. If it is I'll be there in less than a week lol. Great job!

The recreation of Atlanta will be very cool. I live in Cedartown out near the Alabama border and now we're starting to get the sprawl from Atlanta and Rome lol. Good luck.
