Looks like the Crown has been passed....
QuantumChicken replied to chocolate_city's topic in Cities: Skylines General Discussion
I do like C:SL, especially flooding my city with massive water displacement, or creating a structure with 2 billion noise pollution and 32000 radius thus causing deaths by the thousands, however, I personally think SimCity 4 Digital Edition will be my main city simulator. I was a victim of a rare bug in C:SL that causes my households to be 0/0 on which the dev team cannot reproduce. There are only 2 others on the paradox forums that got hit by it too, so it is unplayable for me now. -
How to make Sim City 4 Compatible with Modern Computers
QuantumChicken replied to PiperRTW's topic in SC4 Bugs & Technical Issues
I use windows server 2008R2 (faster than windows 10) with the ATI customization. That works for me. Thanks for your efforts though, much appreciated. -
Is SIMCITY 2013 the end of it all?
QuantumChicken replied to SJ Mack's topic in SimCity (2013) General Discussion
It all depends on what you would rather play. Cities:Skylines requires a moderately powerful 64-bit computer, whereas SimCity still can run off of 32-bits. In my honest opinion, Cities:Skylines is a far more superior city sim than SimCity any day. And about the end of it? Yea, I believe, unless flEa bAg does something out of the works, that SimCity is the last installation. The decision is yours, however, I am just stating here. -

Any way to be able to play simcity 4 without disk ?
QuantumChicken replied to Sim Playerr's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
I use the Steam edition of SC4, never had an issue, even with the BAT. -
Dying trees and waterfronts
QuantumChicken replied to Koriolanis's topic in Cities: Skylines General Discussion
Yea, it is a general issue with trees and water. Apperently even clean water is toxic to the foliage in that game... -
This game is making me crazy.... Do you have to be at a certain level in order to make bridges
QuantumChicken replied to chocolate_city's topic in Cities: Skylines General Discussion
All I do is drag it across the water/ravine/whatever and it can be created. -
Windows 10 to be the last edition of Windows.
QuantumChicken replied to A Nonny Moose's topic in Current Events
If Micro$uck is going that route, I will definitely support them then. I just want my MIDI mapper back though. -

What do you want in Cities: Skylines?
QuantumChicken replied to AidanA28's topic in Cities: Skylines General Discussion
I would like to see geo-thermal power, hydrogen power, water treatment plants to manage the polluted water to make it drinkable, a better farm system, a terraforming system, optional disasters, larger lanes for freeways, higher object limits, better path-finding with deathcare/garbage trucks, and a day/night cycle please and thanks. EDIT: I also would like to see mega-tower-like structures similar the SimCity ones, if flEa bAg did not patent them, multi-level road/highways, SimCity 2000-like arcologies, and multi-level train tracks with the ability to team them up with other train tracks to make the rail traffic more efficient.- 307 Replies

New pc: Major graphic glitches
QuantumChicken replied to Alkaola's topic in SC4 Bugs & Technical Issues
I don't know how people are able to get OpenGL to work. Whenever I try it, it is all white with black holes (not gravity) everywhere. I use an GTX 570 with windows 8.1 enterprise (Windows 7 is too slow and laggy for me and I don't like it). -
Find any minor bugs or game quirks? Post them here!
QuantumChicken replied to wallacet's topic in Cities: Skylines Technical Help Q&A
I am having an issue with random residential buildings spawning as 0/0 after I plop my Uniques, Landmarks, and Monuments as of update 1.07c. I already filed a ticket with Colossal Order. I am curious, is anyone else encountering the residential 0/0 households bug? Because now it seems to be a population thresh hold issue. -
Ha! take that flEa bAg! Cities:Skylines is the best city simulator since SimCity 4 Digital Edition and SimCity 3000 Unlimited. I have been playing C:SL almost non-stop since purchase, which was on the 3rd (158 hours so far). EA just got owned by a small company, lol. Cities XL/XXL was a BIG fail as well, so Brokus Gnome Interinactive also got owned.

Paradox Shatters sales record on Cities Skylines
QuantumChicken commented on wozzar's article in News
Wow! Very impressive! Nice one Colossal Order/Paradox! I want this game so bad, but I have no money until the end of the month though. -
Thank you, Paradox.
QuantumChicken replied to Thin White Duke's topic in Cities: Skylines General Discussion
I want this game so bad now, but I don't have any money right now. I am shocked at the negative ratings on steam though, albeit not many, but still a shocker. It really does look like the ultimate SimCity replacement though, to what I have witnessed. -
Game Available On Steam Now!
QuantumChicken replied to Samerton's topic in Cities: Skylines General Discussion
I so want to get this game, but I have no money at the moment. -
What a sad day. A great legacy, now gone... I had every "sim" game there was for my windows 98 computer. Now it is just SimCity 4 Deluxe Edition I play from what used to be Maxis. EA is good at killing any game though (example: Command and Conquer 4 Tiberian Twilight)

Cities: Skylines Announced (Release date 10th March)
QuantumChicken replied to Mav12's topic in Cities: Skylines General Discussion
I so want this game now! CitiesXXL has just seen the extent of my patience and SC2013 was like a fart in the wind. I am sure my graphics server can handle it (16x 3.10GHz @3.97GHz with 16Gigs of sheep and a Pci-e V2.1 SCSI Ultra-320 RAID-0)- 165 Replies

I sure wish flEa bAg would give out the source code for SimCity 4 Deluxe. That would make such a difference to the modding community.

I do like CitesXXL. I have noticed the performance is better on XXL and I like that Focus Home Interactive never changed the game totally. However, I think SimCity 4 Deluxe will be always my favourite. I will patiently wait for Cites:Skylines to see what they have in store.

BAT - Troubleshooting & General Discussion
QuantumChicken replied to Jasoncw's topic in SC4 BAT & Lot Workshop
Hey all, I have an issue. I am trying to use HL2 models (Combine citadel at the moment) imported with the SMD import/export addon with GMax, however, even though I can successfully import the model, it will not export to sc4model. I do have it scaled down to a 3x3 (112.m x 159m x 1410m). Its an export error code = 6 and I have 16GB ram and 3.45GHz 16-core proc (I know it only uses one thread/core). I am running as admin too with full read/write access. I tried exporting a big, generic block that is a 6x6 and that worked, so I am confused on what is happening here. Any thoughts? -
Woo! Just got the game and LOVE it! Incredible!
QuantumChicken replied to MikeyBugs95's topic in SimCity (2013) General Discussion
I like all the SimCity games in their own ways. I have grown attached to SimCity 4 Deluxe though, but SimCity 2013 is still pretty fun. I did cause the black death in my city in SC2013 because I was not used to the GlassBox engine and its' mechanics, but I figured it out in the end.
