I have some props for this project that I would like to upload as an asset pack. Four garden walls props. How do I upload all four crp files to steam as one prop pack? I believe that they have to be placed in one folder but then what? Could someone please be kind enough to outline the process for me. Much appreciated. Mntoes -

Thanks for the link. I must be well confused. I compare these two CO assets and it makes no sense to me. Same asset vastly different stats? 6 Adults, 3 Households Same CO asset:- 20 Adults, 10 Households The first 4x4 has less residents than the second 3x3 ? My lot is 3/3 so I guess the stats are not too bad. ? Thanks -

Learning asset creation - American House
mntoes replied to barcasam7's topic in Cities: Skylines Modding - Open Discussion
Sigh.... I'm really confused now. I was thinking that it was good to cut down the number of tris to optimise the model (somewhere in the back of my mind I keep hearing the mantra.. reduce tris...reduce tris). However to me barcasam7's model does not look too different to that of Avanya's ? Is it not a case of quads are better? (I don't know) How do I see all the tris in Blender anyway? Does Blender generate tris for the quads automatically? Or am I just not understanding the whole concept? Sorry to throw so many questions at you but I would like help to get my head around this. Last question How do you know when you have removed too much? -
An important reminder about normal maps
mntoes replied to Cool_Z's topic in Cities: Skylines Modding - Open Discussion
Ah, thank you. that explains it. That is why the map is not showing on parts of the building I guess (not showing on right side of chimney). Is it also true that this effect appears to look worse on darker textures and just as you say a limit of the game? -
An important reminder about normal maps
mntoes replied to Cool_Z's topic in Cities: Skylines Modding - Open Discussion
Thanks @ lost_gecko I'll look out for that . @Lee Towers works great! Apologies if slightly off subject but I want to ask about this strange effect in-game on my textures . The model looks reasonable in all lighting apart from briefly from one angle and at one particular light level.. As you can see from the picture the front of the house looks kind off dark and "ugly" (see front left) . The bricks on the side look ok by contrast. Is this usual or has it anything to do with my maps? Wrong settings? I have a normal map applied to the whole model, an illumination map and a specular map applied to the roof only. Oh and of course a diffuse map. I am trying with this first model to learn about all the maps before I move on to other models, so I want to learn from my mistakes first. (Colour map next) -
Oh my goodness. I have not visited here for a while. I never expected such sad news. I will always remember him for his words of wisdom and strong support for this community. RIP friend.
