    WARNING! ONCE YOU HAVE SAVED WITH IT IN YOUR CITY, IT WILL BE IMPOSSIBLE TO REMOVE WITHOUT SHOWERING YOUR CITY IN RADIATION. This lot is like a 1x1 maxis plaza, found in the landfill menu. This is the Radiation Destroyer (WITH NO DEPENDENCIES!!!) that will fix any radiation qualms in your cities. Please read the big red text, and find it in your LANDFILL menu. It looks 100% like a MAXIS plaza, but takes away 10000 units of atomic activity. (Approx. 5000 toxic waste dumps. That's enough right?) Don't remove it from your cities after saving or the 10000 units of radiation will actually flood back to the 64 tiles it was removed from, even if there was no radiation beforehand. (Technical Note: This is due to a technical bug in the game where tiles with minus radiation will reset to 0, and then removal of this lot will force it up to 10000. Don't worry, as long as it isn't removed from the city, all it's 64 tiles of effect will stay at 0, even with a radiation source.) wall of text there, and yes I did break my rule of no more uploads on the STEX, because this was too awesome.     This lot will transform your delicious GHSR into a lovely subway. I would very much prefer it if at the other end of the tunnel you used the same transition, but anyway, this lot has the same bug as the OPTIONAL dependencies in the fact that if you have SimGoober bus stops, you will have a SimGoober Query window. Anyway, this lot unfortunately uses a bus stop as a base, so will have a bus stop window instead of a rail. But that doesn't matter. Please rate and comment! This lot uses NAM, has_dependencies, and Xyloxadoria props. Lotting and enabling by Fatherted.     This mod is incompatible with the Persistent Automata Mod This mod changes the traffic algorithms in a similar way to the Persistent Automata Mod (which I admittedly took inspirational from and find an impressive piece of engineering), but with my own alterations to exemplar code. The mod forces cars, and other automata including but not limited to trams and rail, to disappear only when driving 30+ tiles or off-screen. Also, it makes the game spawn as many automata items as the game's locked source code will allow (admittedly will not cause large jams in medium size towns, possibly not in towns below 20,000), so larger cities will suffer realistic traffic jams and gridlock in some cases! Be aware that traffic following NAM puzzle pieces or NWM lanes, for instance, that have traffic paths that do not match up, will disappear regardless of the mod. Also, buses will disappear at bus stops akin to the vanilla game, there is no way to force them not to. This can also happen to GLR and rail, although it is less likely. There are no dependencies, simply extract into your plugins folder! Make sure it loads after the NAM automata controller and so is in its zzz_RealAutomata folder.

    You can also use MS paint to change the config, it won't overwrite existing tiles if you don't change their size. You can only expand South and East because the initial config is in the top-right corner of the config pixel image, which can't be changed.

    Re: APSMS The file is required only to load after 'Network Addon Mod' NOT 'z___NAM'. The file contents will remain unaffected unless a new NAM addon places Automata data in z___NAM.

    It's me, Simtropolis! I go by many names...well mostly fatherted and A Virtual Duck. Anyway, here's a game I created over at Undead Labs and ported here. This forum game is simple and easy. All you have to do is continue the main character's story off the last post made. Simple as that. The main character's name is Gavin Moynihan. On his birthday, when he turned 30, he was knocked unconscious by some...thing...while enjoying a party with his family. When he woke up, they were nowhere to be found. He looked out of the window, to see the city of Dauerstadt in flames. His story continues from there. Rules: -Gavin cannot leave Dauerstadt, but his friends can -He cannot find his family alive -He can meet other survivors -The apocalypse cannot be solved -No divine intervention -The story must be in first person perspective, past tense. Those are the rules. Here is the first story segment. The power was out. Great. I started walking down the stairs, knocking on each door. No answers. No matter, I thought, the police or army must have evacuated them. I stepped out onto Haymarket Avenue. And what I saw astounded me.

    T Wrecks, the system performance hit is so negligible (less than 1fps on average) that it isn't even worth mentioning. Besides, since my SimCity runs anywhere between 20 and 5 fps by default I see no issue with mods that marginally impact performance.
  13. I got mine off GoG. Works perfectly and no DRM hassle. Admittedly I have FPS issues at 900p but that's my poor computer rather than anything else.
  14. I think the serial number lets you redeem off origin.com without installing it. That is your only free, legal option and I'm not sure if that is the broken version which will get stuck at 1.6.1.10

    That's bizarre Titanicbuff. I'm sorry to hear this. Is there anything in your plugins folder that could be incompatible? I'll take a look at the maximum vehicles allowed when I have time but my cities are usually fairly crammed.

    Titanicbuff, this is strange. Perhaps the automata have spawned and gone offscreen (reaching the limit) without despawning again. I often get small jams in my city of 25,000 even in less congested areas.

      I guess I should explain further then. "Source code modding" would have implied that you found a way to open up the EXE and found a way to read what the code does, which is not only unacceptable under the standards of modding community, but is a breach in the end user license agreement, and also illegal. Such activity would have to be shut down by the staff to keep EA from shutting us down. Either way, it does not end well.

      This is why proper wording is important.

    Ganaram Inukshuk, the file does load after the second NAM file, I made sure of this. NAM's Persisten Automata mod is overridden whereas the standard PAM uses the same zzz_ structure which could make it load after this mod rendering it useless.   I'll correct the controller misunderstanding, however.

      Not source code, but just a modification of an exemplar, telling the already-compiled source code what to do. There are 43 known exemplars out there, from Type0E (Ordinances), Type21 (Network Lots), Type10 (Lot Configurations), and Type1E (Props). Automata mods are Type20 exemplars.

      Also, saying that you're "source code modding" would, depending on who's listening, send alarm bells at EA's lawyers who will warrant a cease and desist on you, or send alarm bells o...

      ...or send alarm bells over to the NAM Team (who would really like to figure out a way to reduce dependency on the NAM Controller, add in new networks that don't require starters, or better yet, fix the Eternal Commuter Bug, the Puzzle-Station CTD Bug, and get One Way Roads to recognise neighbour connections), or alarm bells to the whole community, implying that SC4 is public domain, when it really isn't and probably won't be for a really long time.

    Indiana Joe is correct-NAM has plenty of dead ends especially if you misplace transit paths using puzzle pieces or lots. This forces the automata to disappear regardless of the mod.
  22. I like UDI but my PC renders (at 1600x900) anywhere between 5-22fps so the judder makes me feel sick after a while so I stop if it reached 30fps it'd make the whole experience so much easier. Perhaps I should render 1408x792?

    Go to www.gog.com (an online game marketplace run by CD Projekt Red, like Steam but DRM free), and create an account. From there, in theory you could download your purchased game to every PC in the world. It's entirely on trust (after the initial purchase), which is admirable IMO.

    Origin have a bizarrely modified version and so it cannot be patched. Right now GoG has the fully patched version available for purchase at 60% off ($7.99), and I can confirm this works as I bought it at full price recently.

    The new simcity is lame but it has an offline mode now. Have you tried adjusting command arguments? Remember asking the game to output much above 1080p or a non 4:3/16:9/16:10 resolution will cause it to fail to run. Other than that I'm unsure of what your issue could be. Perhaps your installation is corrupted?
