  1. Show us your Region!

If you do build on the higher terrains, I would like to see you keep the density low—small residential areas, maybe a national park?. I would also like to see some water in that region. You have a lot of flat squares which would be perfect for a diagonal coast stretching across the region. You could make an epic cape out of it, like Boston or such.

    Love it!

Mitsos, your CJ is one of only two that I have bookmarked! Where did you get that awesome arch wall?
  4. Can't find it?... Ask here!

http://community.sim...loads&mid=19173 Thanks Konstantinll, that's definitely the statue! Does Anyone have an idea where I can find the arches?
  5. Can't find it?... Ask here!

Anyone know where I can find this arched wall with statues from Mitsos's CJ here? (https://community.simtropolis.com/journal/281/entry-7347-general-photography-ii/)
  6. Lokrum

Super nice! Last pic is my favorite because I can "see the forest for the trees". Looks like the beginning of a really fun CJ!
  7. 1) Can a city only borrow utilities from a city that directly neighbors it, or can it get power (for example) from a remote city that is connected via power lines? 2) How do I download things off of this site?: (http://homepage2.nifty.com/kamurai/simcity/log.htm). My issue is not getting to the individual content pages, but downloading them. I swear I've tried each and every link—I'm stumped. 3) Does this region census (https://www.sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=913) work with I-HT bug fix? I'm getting an error that say it could not locate the SimCity_1.dat file, which is of course the file that gets altered with the I-HT fix. Is there a way to get it to work? Or, is there another, perhaps better way to view the entire region? Thanks, and 1,000 bonus points awarded per question to the first member to help me out!
  8. Thanks all! Yes, Prophet42, that is the I-HT fix I use. And yes, Turjan, having followed the steps listed here: I wonder if that affects how the RC reads that file. I see almost every CJ using the RC and assume that most have the I-HT fix as well. My issue may be unrelated to that, and perhaps I'll repost this issue in a more appropriate forum after doing some sleuthing myself first.
  9. I know it's because I downloaded something of the LEX that said it was not compatible with it, so I tested it out and the limitless beach still worked. Now it doesn't, and I can't remember what download caused the conflict. Does any one know which mods are not compatible with Teirusu's beach mod?
  10. Thanks Blunder. I'll look into that when I get a chance this weekend. Is that reader the same tool used to change lot properties, such as which Building Style set they will grow in and NIMB properties? I've been wanting to do some tooling around with certain lots.
  11. Thanks all. I've figured out the problem, or at least the solution. I had moved my Columbus Terrain folder into the "zzz_terrainmod" folder with the seasonal flora recently. Once I had moved it back to its previous folder "d Visual Mods" I got my limitless beaches back. I now have my limitless beach in a folder named "zzzzzz limitless beach" but that didn't solve the issue until I move my terrain mod.
  12. Thanks z1, although I've never downloaded that one. There must be others. I was thinking it was Ennedi's diagonal mod since I recently added that, but I tested it without it and it didn't seem to fix it. EDIT: Just reread the readme for Ennedi's DJEM, and that is indeed the conflicting mod. Of course, two very useful mods conflict. I'll just go back to using Pjot's DJEM because I hadn't noticed a difference anyway, and the limitless beach mod it too cool. Again, I can't seem to get the beaches back. I removed Ennedi, put Pjot back, blew up my city, exited, tried to extend beaches and nothing... If anyone knows how I can get my limitless beaches back please let me know.
  13. I'm mostly curious to hear from the pros (you know what I mean and who you are). I've been playing this game since forever and just recently got a computer capable of using lots of mods. I'm on my 3rd or 4th round of building and organizing my plugins folder. I try to be very careful, but I've reached a point where my game will crash every now and then: after as little as 4 years or as long as 17 years, and most the time not at all (I've been doing test runs to check my plugins, and usually assume that running over 20 years without issue means all is well). I've done the "-CPU count 1" thing, and that's not the problem. I'm not looking for a solution here, but just asking about what is reasonable. If my game crashes-to-desktop once every 5 times i play a city to 20 years, is that normal/acceptable? Are there any mayors (particularly the pros out there) that this is or is not an issue for? So basically, anyone who reads this, please tell me how often your game crashes, and how often you expect that and what you consider "a good run". Thanks!
  14. NAM General Support

    Hey! It worked! Thanks!
  15. NAM General Support

Where do I find these? I assumed they were part of the NAM, but can't seem to find them. Thanks. EDIT: Hey cool, I just got my first reputation point! Not sure how these are acquired, but I'm a good guy and would love to contribute more, but for now I've only been asking embarrassingly stupid questions here.
  16. Can't find it?... Ask here!

That was fast! Thanks so much Gurning_Chimp!
  17. Can't find it?... Ask here!

Where can i find this tan brick seawall? pictured here: https://i189.photobucket.com/albums/z141/Schulmanator/2013%20Default/riverwalk24_zps0060cbbf.jpg from Schulmanator's journal https://community.simtropolis.com/journal/698/entry-20502-dude-wheres-my-cat/ Thanks!
  18. Street/Sidewalk Mods

I suppose I mean street mods, with the trees or hedges and what not. Are you talking about the old brownish-red brick sidewalk of Paeng's? Yes, that looks sharp and I see a lot journals here use it. I've been avoiding it because I think it darkens up the city, and I fear it will make many of my plaza mods useless.
  19. I really want snow on my mountains and I like how they look with this mod (), but I would like to use different rock, beach, and tree mods. The installation says something like "Snow mod for CPTNo7", but I don't want that tree mod. Is there a way to get the snow textures, but not use CPTNo7()? It looks like you can remove the rock and beach mods, but my game crashed when I elevated the land to snow-level with SHK's HD rock mod. Are there other, more simple mods to get snow just on mountains? Thanks.
  20. snow on mountains questions

That looks really neat! It'd be great if someone could post a pic to show approx. how high the elevation needs to be. I may use those extra cheats afterall, as there were a few more that seemed useful; like the "place every building" cheat to find empty lots. The snow on mountain mod serves my purposes for the most part.
  21. How do I make use of these downloads. Thanks.
  22. What do I do with .rar files?

    Great! Thanks!
  23. snow on mountains questions

@A Nonny Moose: I don't have the extra cheats, typed in "Snow" in to the ctrl-x box, and it wouldn't even exit the box when I hit enter. According to other game tip sites you don't need the cheat, but it didn't work for me. I can only spellcheck "snow" so many times before I'm certain i did everything right.
  24. snow on mountains questions

Thanks Indiana Joe. I see what I did now. The snow cap mod downloads several files, including beachcliff.dat, and rock.dat (or something like that). I assumed rock.dat was the rock mod, but beachcliff.dat is the rock mod. Removing the rock.dat makes the game crash when you elevate terrain to snow levels. Removing the beachcliff.dat allows you to add your own rock mod; in case anyone else wanted to know. Turjan, this game is so deep, it's almost too deep. That reader sounds awesome, but after a month of building a plugins file, I think I'm ready to start playing the game soon. But you do make it sound enticing. EDIT: I see now it explains all this in the readme (of course). I swear I read these.
