1280*960 pic of the bat HERE On the 6th October 1889, at the foot of Butte Montmartre, the atmosphere was pretty festive: a new music-hall was opening in the Jardin de Paris, the Moulin Rouge, and it wasn't going unnoticed. The public came in mass to Place Blanche, to discover this extravagant place with its huge dance floor, mirrors everywhere, and galleries that were the last word in elegance, to mix with the riffraff and girls of easy vertue. There was such a wild atmosphere that the show was not only on the stage but all around: aristocrats and louts in caps had fun side by side, in total euphoria. The masters of the place were Joseph Oller and Charles Zidler. They nicknamed their establishment Le Premier Palais des Femmes (the first Women Palace) and bet on their success, enthusiastically claiming to whoever listened that the Moulin Rouge would become a temple of music and dance. On the very first day, their hopes were fulfilled, the other music-halls just had to learn... This is a 3X2 C$$ lot (up to200jobs). Plop version only, of course. Landmark effect = 30 / 20 Mayor rating effect = 5 / 256 Plop cost = 130 You will find all other parameters inside of the zip. The "Locomotive", at left, is one of the most famous night-clubs in Paris, too. UPDATE on 24.01.2022 - nothing new, just a bit of re-branding in the folder and zip name and folder structure. If you already downloaded it since the last update (04.01.2022), you don't need to redownload it. UPDATE 04.01.2022 This JENX-Porkie Expanded Porkie Props is completely replacing the following contents: PorkieProps-Vol1.dat PorkieProps-Vol2.dat JENXPARIS_Tweaked_PorkieProps-Vol1.dat It contains props/models (mostly offset props) from several Porkissimo uploads like Paramounth Opera, Rue Meyerbeer, Large Police Department, also it contains the props based on the Porkie Props vol01 models from the JENXPARIS_Prop_Pack_Vol02.dat. Xannepan's note on the revisited JENXPARIS_Tweaked_PorkieProps-Vol1.dat which was released with the Quais de Seine sets: Credit goes to @Porkissimo for all the models and most of the props, also for Xannepan for the additional editing and props and prop families. This compilation (and some editing) was made by Tyberius06 Since now the LEX also have this prop pack, it made only sense to update the original one here to the same version. This version is completely backwards compatible, it doesn't have any negative effect on existing uploads. *********************************************************************************************** A few props you may need to make your streets a bit more "alive". Most of them are night-enlighted, so don't forget that they must not be put across the lot limit in the LE (they would lose their nitelite in the game). [PK-tunnel top] and [PK_tunnel whole] must be stacked exactly at the same place on your lot. The buses only show up a few hours in the day. The newspapers shop's appearance changes in the middle of the night. The Christmas stuff only appears between december 15th and january 14th. Enjoy!- 74 Comments

Bonjour à tous, in the same architectural style (post-hausmannian), this is an aristocratic Parisian building, actually located at 5, avenue Elisée-Reclus, next to the Tour Eiffel. Buildings are all adjacent in Paris, which explains the "blind" side walls on most of my BATS. PS: I'm a very bad Plugins Manager user, so I hope it'll work. If not, tell me and I'll try to fix that. Salutations, Porkie. -

See a 1280X960 picture of the bat in game HERE Dependencies: PORKIE PROPS VOL1 and PORKIE PROPS VOL2 Sir Hogmeister wrote about the Madeleine church: "Standing majestically above the surrounding streets is the Eglise de la Madeleine, an amazing edifice constructed in the Grand Classical Style. Originally conceived during the reign of Louis XV, the first attempt was destroyed by poor materials, technical incompetence and bad weather. Louis XVI turned his attention to the project in 1777 but again fate in the form this time of the French revolution intervened, he lost his head and the building lost its funding. The next ill-fated monarch to enter the fray was Napoleon, who decided that it would make a fine monument to commemorate his army and their victories. With the raising of the 20-meter high Corinthian columns the building was finally completed in 1814, however with Waterloo intervening the following year Napoleon, his armies and their victories were relegated to the history books and the building was left in limbo. A succession of monarchs and small revolutions came and went; in 1837 there were plans formulated to turn the building into the first railway station in Paris, thankfully common sense prevailed and in 1842 it was finally decided to consecrate the building as a church, the use for which it had originally been designed. Today the building has several uses as befits its chequered history. It stands primarily as a fine architectural monument much admired by tourists, who flock through its doors, providing just the right cover for many of its other clandestine uses. It houses amongst other things the offices of the Mistress to the president. It is said that when a new president is elected, the first key he receives is to his official residence, the second key is to the chastity belt and office of his official mistress, and the third key is to the secret strong rooms located beneath the Madeleine, where he can store and count his ‘personal’ slush funds, a time honoured pastime of many a president. It is said the president spends more time playing, opps I meant praying at the Madeleine than he spends with his wife. Due to the high number of ‘foreigners’ visiting the Madeleine it is the ideal base for the DGSE (la Direction Générale de la Sécurité Extérieure) to operate their industrial and high-tech spying operations on their allies from. Many of the world’s greatest technological secrets are said to have passed through its portals. The CIA in particular have spent a considerable amount of time and agents trying to penetrate the DGSE, however their lack of understanding of the rules of Fine dining and Michelin stared cuisine has thwarted all their efforts, a four hour lunch being totally unfathomable to them. MI5 has had slightly more success, however they too fail the final test, by opting for Port instead of Brandy." Some little things to know about this lot: - Open the Madeleine zip file and extract the [Madeleine specifics] file's content to your plug-in directory. - Don't worry: there will be no tree on your lot before the next season swap. - The lot is transit-enabled (if any difficulties, don't hesitate to draw two roads over the lot). - The "Joyeuses fêtes" prop is supplied in the zip file in6 other languages, so that you can easily replace it in the LE. Enjoy, folks! -

Full size pic HERE The Odéon Theatre first opened in 1782 to house France's national theatre, the Comédie Française, and is an excellent example of 18th century architecture, located near the Luxembourg gardens and palace on Paris's Left Bank where it has been witness to many upheavals, both artistic and political. The Odéon has always been closely tied to the French State and is now one of the five national theatres in France fully funded by the Ministry for Culture. In 1990 it became the "Théâtre de l'Europe", with complete independence to conduct the mission of "fostering joint projects with stage directors, actors, playwrights and other figures involved in the dramatic arts in Europe, to present new works and breathe new life into Europe's artistic heritage". Bonjour again, This is the second lot of my Paris W2W Diagonal set. It is designed to provide this kind of features. It's still a CS$$$ plop (what else in the Opera district?). It works well on an avenue or a street. If you plop it against a road, you may see some flowers growing on the footpath . One-way road is generally OK, but the same problem can happen in certain cases. The zip includes the mirror version too. No dependency. Lot properties are provided in the zip. Next bat will come soon. A bientôt, donc;) PS: All apologies to the 300 first Paramount Theatre downloaders! The first upload file had only one of the two mirror versions. Now it's fixed. -

Bonjour mes amis, In spite of Porkie Junior, I've not forgotten you, mates .This CS$$$ plop bat is the first piece of a new Paris W2W Diagonal set. It's not very usefull on its own, so I promise I will release the following parts in the next hours/days. The bats are ready and the final aspect looks like THIS. These buildings are designed with the common architecture of the Opera district in Paris. Some are actual. This one is based on the Paramount Opera Theatre, located at Boulevard des Capucines. "Built on the site of the Vaudeville Theatre, it opened in 1927 to the design of English theatre architect Frank T. Verity, who had also designed the Plaza, Lower Regent St, London, UK for Adolph Zukor's Paramount Pictures in 1926. The Paramount Opera was split into seven screens during the 1970's. The largest (Screen 3) holds 800, other screens have capacity's ranging from 400 down to 125, 90 and 60 seats" (Cinema Treasures). The zip contains both mirrored versions of the bat. No dependency. Lot properties are provided in the zip. I hope you'll enjoy it -

See a 1280X960 picture of the bat HERE Bat and lot: Porkie Modding: BarbyW - Thank you Barbara! The first shopping centers appeared in Europe in the second part of the XIXth century. In Paris, most of them were conceived as real "consumption palaces". One of them, "le Bon Marché", employed up to 2400 people, needed 350 horses to fulfill the home-deliveries in the whole capital, and could host 70.000 customers in one day. "The Quatre Saisons" is strongly inspired by one of the three bridge-linked-buildings of the "Magasins du Printemps", which still sets on the boulevard Haussmann. Let's Mister Hoggmeister introduce it for us: "Au Printemps is situated between the Opéra and the Gare St-Lazare on the Boulevard Haussmann, this most Parisian of department stores was founded in 1865 by Jules Jaluzot, with money from his new wife’s dowry. The building that we see today was designed by the architect Paul Sédille in 1881 following a massive fire that destroyed the main store. Rebuilding was completed in 1889, and the new Printemps building was acclaimed by the architectural press as reflecting the modern and daring spirit of its founder. Each corner was given a prominently domed and pinnacled rotunda, decorated with subtle blue and gold mosaics which carry the name of the shop. Further decoration included panels of coloured marble with inlay and a bronze covering of the ironwork; the building even had electricity and hydraulic lifts. In 1923 Brière created the magnificent roof cupolas in pure Art Nouveau style, each composed of 3,185 individual pieces of stained glass. In 1975 the facade and cupolas become classified historical monuments." 4 trees which change with seasons. As they got a concrete base at the bottom, they are especially designed for street use. They're also night-enlighted, so don't place them across the lot limit in the LotEditor (they would lose their nitelight in the game). Don't worry: there will be no tree on your lot before the next season swap: it's normal. In the LE, stack together at the same place: [PK-tree01-fall] + [PK-tree01-winter] + [PK-tree01-summer] + [Pk-leaves-street] [PK-tree02-fall] + [PK-tree02-winter] + [PK-tree02-summer] + [Pk-leaves-street] and so on... Paris, city of light! My first upload is based on an actual post-hausmannian building (about 1900), which is located in the Quartier Latin (Vth arrondissement), on the Boulevard Saint-Germain. It's not so easy to integrate this kind of buildings in a modern city, but if you like it and are patient, I will soon supply other Parisian BATS (see screenshots). Some of you have perhaps seen them on the official site (username eblaser), but I prefer to share it in a more interactive way. A bientôt! Sorry 4 the French accent... Porkie. -

See a 1280X960 picture of the bat HERE Bat: Porkie Modding: BarbyW Many thanks to Dealey and Vlakhaas for their contribution too. For more than 800 years Les Halles was the “stomach” of Paris (so named by Zola in one of his novels). All the fresh produce required by the capital was to be found in this mythical location. The quarter wascomposed by ten huge metallic pavillions, with fishmongers, butchers and farmers emerging in the streets to sell their wares to residents and restaurateurs alike. During the 1960’s it became clear that the markets were too big a burden for the continually expanding city, the fleet of trucks required to stock them causing regular traffic chaos. A decision was made to move the markets to a more practical location well outside the city limits, an enormous replacement being constructed at Rungis in 1969. This meant of course the destruction of the historic quarter of Les Halles with its metallic architecture so typical of the 19th century, a prime example of this the iron Pavillions of the architect Baltard. 2 versions are available in the zip file: PLOPPABLE VERSION (Halles PLOP.dat): CS$$, capacity=600/1200, plopcost=bulldozecost=850 (see other details in Halles.jpg) REWARD VERSION (Halles REWARD.dat). Bat: Porkie Modding: BarbyW (la meilleure). According to the official criterias used by the urbanists at the end of the XIXth century, this bat represents a typical parisian so-called "third class building". Theorically, it should be both commercial (first and second levels) and residential (above). This one hosts a bank agency and a spanish bar "chez José" (what about some tapas with your drink?). Here are two versions: a ploppable CS$ (50 jobs) and a growable R$ (up to 100 people).
