  1. Zen Fountain Park

    Version 1.0

    2,573 Downloads

I call it the zen fountain park, small and simple, only problem is the water tends to spill out of the fountain.
  2. Hello All. Recently getting back into SC4. Was just wondering if the file I am downloading from EA site (The update SKU3) includes the fix for BAT night lights. I really wanna see the BATs in action!
  3. I started with 3 subfolders for RCI, but now it has mutated into ~30 subfolders for Parks, Civic, NAM, etc. And folders for Teams like BSC, NDEX etc. (in which each plugin has its own folder). About to break 4 gigs haha. I just wish there were an easier way to deselect certain plugins to make architecturally distinct towns. Manually going in there and removing individual files is just too much!
  4. Can't find it?... Ask here!

Hello I am looking for the terrain mods by Heblem. I believe one is called the Chihuahua desert and the other Bajio. I have found links before but they are always dead. Any help would be great!
  5. Show us your... Most prized creations

Not necessarily my proudest creation, but I decided to delete all my old regions and start (and focus on!!!) ONE and attempt a CJ. Here is a teaser of the beginning of Ald Redaynia (thumbs up to anyone that gets the name!)
  6. Palei' lua

I have been playing Sim City since the original and have always enjoyed it. This is my first attempt at a real CJ. After toying with many concepts I have found one that is both intriguing and (I hope) doable. This has already taken me a long time, and I am only starting to build anything, but I am having a great time doing it! That being said. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Welcome to Palei' lua. Palei' lua is an island nation centered around a large volcano. For thousands of years it remained undiscovered by humans. This was mainly due to it's vast distance from other surrounding landmasses. Palei' lua has a very unique climate with pristine tropical beaches at sea level, progressing quickly into alpine rainforests at higher elevations. In the year 1922, Samoan sea voyagers were set adrift by a large storm. After surviving 28 days at sea, they washed up upon a small deserted island. Fortunately the island had a natural spring from which they were able to gain fresh water. Over the coming years the voyagers learned to survive this harsh, yet forgiving environment and began to form a new civilization. In the coming generations, the voyagers bore children who became even more adept at thriving in this tropical environment. Their homes and buildings began to grow more complex and accommodating. This led to the development of more leisure time with which the Palei' lua natives began to develop agriculture from the native plants found on the islands. Agriculture thrived on the fresh water that was bubbling up from the small islands. The soil was fertile and life was good for the now hundred or so people that inhabited Palei' lua. The inhabitants built roads to transport their goods. Some of the elders began to recall the beliefs held in their homelands of mighty gods. These stories were passed down and a special building was constructed to worship these mighty deities. They also constructed a windcatcher, the design of which was passed down by the village elder. This building was used to more efficiently pump water from the natural springs which were so common on the small islands. This was when things began to change quickly. Not many years after the construction of their house of worship, the Palei' luans began to spot strange ships on the horizon. Some thought that these may have been sent by their deities, others had darker foretellings. Nonetheless Palei' lua would never be the same after this day.

Stockton's pimp: Yeah I haven't seen enough tropical CJs so I'm trying to do a good one. Benedict: Glad you're interested. Archean: I have big plans for the Samoans mightygoose: Yeah I have been here for a long time hehe. Unfortunately I'm going to be very busy for the next week so updates may take a while. Stay tuned though. They will come.

Thank You Benedict! Can't believe I forgot to turn the grid off!!!! BTW if you or anyone else knows a better site than photobucket to upload images to I would be grateful. That site is really pi*$ing me off at the moment.
  10. A simple question Hello Simtropians. I am currently working on a very intensive Cj which I have just started. Shameless plug below. www.simtropolis.com/forum/messageview.cfm I have used the lot editor many a time before, but am confused on one aspect. I usually edit a lot that I don't care about (ie the lowest $ res) so as not to overwrite other buildings. I would like my custom lots to show up in either the water or power menu as these are the only ones that don't have hundreds of random files by now. If I edit, for example a water tower, and save it with a new name, will it show up in the water menu and not overwrite the original? If not, how can I make my custom lots show up in the water or power menu? Thank you!
  11. Hi guys. So my old Graphics card crashed (8800 GTS) after 2 and a half years. Always played SC4 without much problems, although it did get laggy when I made huge cities. Other relevant specs Core 2 Duo 2.66 Ghz Windows XP Custom So I got a new ATi 5770 today, and it puts any game to shame, but SC4 is like insaaanely slow. 1 second lag, 1 second play, 1 second lag etc. It is basically unplayable! I do use over a gig of plugins, but that didn't cause much problem before. I just don't see how it could be running this much worse with a new and vastly superior graphics card?! Any ideas are appreciated!
  12. Shoot. This seems to be the consensus. I can do software rendering, but it feels dumb playing with mediocre graphics when I just spent my paycheck on a graphics card hehe. Oh well, I'll live.
  13. -CPUCount:1 Is what I put in the target path. I can't copy the error for some reason. I switched from hardware to software rendering, and it is a bit quicker. But I can't have full graphics that way.
  14. Someone over at SC4D said something about this in an older thread. "Set SC4 to use just one core of the processor: Right-click the SimCity icon, select "Properties" and add " -CPUCount:1" to the target path." But it gives me an error when I try to do that.
  15. Launcher Error in Beta

Hello. I know I signed the NDA but this has nothing to do with the game itself. I spent ~30 hours downloading the game for beta testing. I was elated when everything installed correctly. Now when I open the launcher I have to download another 131 MB file which I am assuming is a patch. The problem is that everytime it gets to about 90MBs the progress bar dissapears and I get the message "Download Error" I emailed Monte Cristo and am waiting for a reply. PLEASE if anyone knows anything about this, please let me know. It is so frustrating to be soooo close to playing what looks to be the most awesome game ever (IMHO) Thanks
  16. My Games...see what you think

PC Only here Oblivion SC4 + Rush Hour Crysis Orange Box COD4 Bioshock Tiger Woods 07 City life Deluxe I like having a good graphics card
  17. Hello All. Have spent the past hour on the forum looking at and downloading awesome Japanese BAT's. But I can't figure out how to get these houses from SOMY. http://kamurai.sakura.ne.jp/editbbs/lev-bbs.cgi?bid=SC4=&style=0 Can someone please help me? Thanks!
  18. I found it SpecOps. It's in Landmarks, just look around. God it is HUGE!
  19. Livanshire [COFR]

I really like that section of diagonal suburbs in the overview. I might have to gain some inspiration from (i.e. steal) your idea if you don't mind.
  20. Highwater, Washington

    Beautiful. Good Suburbs as well.
  21. PARIS DIAGONAL Paramount Opera Theatre

All I can say is wow!!! And NO DEPENDENCIES!
  22. Looks absolutely gorgeous, but I can't find it on my horribly cluttered menues. Where is the ploppable located?
  23. My city

Beautiful region view! I really like how the city has a defined center. I would highly suggest to start downloading some of the amazing user created content found here on the STEX. It will really spice up your cities. Look for the NAM in the downloads section as well, as I see you are trying to create roundabouts. With the NAM you get real roundabouts, and a whole lot more. Still fine Job my friend!
  24. The Republic of Solomon [Adrian Union]

Wow!! I am in AWE! You have definitely put in a lot of work and it has paid off stupendously! Could you PLEASE tell me where you found your suburban homes that butt up against downtown!?!? I desperately need those for an asian themed city I am planning.
  25. Grovehurst

Hello everyone, I would like to welcome you to my first CJ, formally entitled "The People's Democratic Township Of Grovehurst". First we will take a look at the undeveloped region in which enterprising mayor OM3N has decided to pioneer a slow-growth, democratic township that will be focusing mainly on Agriculture for it's nascent economy. As you can see the region consists of mainly flat plains, through which deep river valleys are cut. Although it is still very early in the regions development, mayor OM3N has grand plans for some beautiful bridges that will span these canyons. The first small town to develop in the region is Mt. Pinehurst. It is a small farming community, scenicly nestled into the mountain which shares it's name. The town exports many different crops, but the local favorite is the string beans. And another shot of the local agricultural development... Here is the home of the enterprising Harry, who runs a small wheat and lily farm on his property. Next we move on to the town of Cedar Bluff, located over the hill from Mt. Pinefrost. It is another small agricultural community. The locals and outsiders alike love the flowers produced at this flower farm. The region is growing very slowly and sustainably, as dictated by mayor OM3N. One day, Grovehurst will become a thriving metropolis, but not by sacrificing quality of life to it's citizens. Thank you for looking! PS: I may be a bit slow on updates, but they will come!
