  3. Can't find it?... Ask here!

There is only one version of Terraformer, and it works both for windows xp and windows 7.. http://sc4devotion.c....php?lotGET=731 It's a bit tricky to use it in windows 7 though. You must have a directx 9 installed. Should you have any further question concerning this tools, don't hesitate to ask in the ST Forum. Okay thanks a bunch!
  4. Augusta, large Italian city

holy $%&^! picture 2 is great. btw is the water the drunken water mod?
  9. SimCity 4 traffic Layouts

erix is right. You need to post what mods were being used. Also if your using mods is the NAM traffic control set to medium or ultra(for you to be using this traffic layout)?
  10. Demand, Desirability, and Abandonment

I really like the fact that it explained that you absolutely need $ residents as janitors, which means basically you can't avoid zoning low density. Also liked the fact it explained that having neighboring cities increases demand caps.. didn't even know demand caps was a thing.
  11. SimMars Beta 3

This mod is garbage. I install it up yet I can't launch it. It just crashes. It doesn't even give me the freedom to choose where I want to place the files before I install it. 0/5 W7 home premium edition.
  12. IMO the only thing that seperated SCS and SC4 was the fact that on SCS ya couldn't zone commercial residential and industry. so i think everything will be ok as long as zoning is implemented on SC5. I'm looking forward to the new features that SC4 doesn't have, aswell as seeing that beautiful woman again
  13. [NEXL] Network Expansion XL

What Mr.D said, and conversion to bridges, overpass, etc. etc. yeah that can be annoying when your very limited in options. Also rural highways would be great. And tunnels that go under the water.. you know... the one with the red and green lights, and that time your car's radio goes off.
  14. like huge (preferrably small) buildings that have 10,000-30,000 industry jobs for dirty, medium and high tech (aswell as agriculture), so i can save myself room for the 'important' zones. if these lots already exist, even if beyond my expectations, please list them or give a link that goes to the file. i would be really thankful because i need those really badly. thank you.
  15. Plopping residential buildings

This is a mod that contains every single zone building, and they're all ploppable. The trick to plop residential buildings, and successfully, requires that you have the building near another building which has just as much jobs as there are people in the building, possibly more. Also, make sure that rich people can be able to walk/ride but not for long to their 'rich' jobs, same applies to normal and poor people. This is where the different wealth of zones come into play. If you want lots of rich people, you need a place for poor people to settle. So eventually when you run out of space to zone, characterize each of your cities, make one city rich and put dense tiles/tall res buildings, the other normal and put medium tiles/condos+apartments, and the third poor/small houses, and so you have more room to create less 'commute time'. This is where you use the trick. Actually there are many tricks. Surround Residential with commercial/industrial. Imagine the pattern being a spiral, but the circles are closed. Or, you can use stripes, one stripe res, the other com/industry, the third stripe res again, etc. etc.. The possibilities are endless, as long as all the res buildings seem adjacent to the job buildings. Take into consideration that education creates smarter people, so if you stuff a poor city with many schools and high-schools, you will get demand for rich people. Why? Because it's normal. Characterizing every single city in every single aspect is important, for you to create a metropolis. Oops, I got a little carried away in my typing. Well, it's my opinion and it's from experience. Hope it helps you.
  16. requesting zone relieving lots

    bumping because nobody answered
  17. im attempting to make a metropolis, medium sized city, with the help with another city. my main city is prospering, but eventually i run out of space in the city, and although its prospering with high rise apartments/condos, my commercial is staying at medium (eventhough i put dense commercial tiles) and before i know it, some of my high rise residential start becoming abandoned due to commute time (i thought my traffic layout was perfect). first i thought it was because of me improving my other city, but i thought thats impossible, who in simcity 4 would go to another city to work? ive made 2 cities, one is the main one, (commercial and res only) and another for mostly industry. my main city's "traffic layout" (well my industry city traffic is chaos because i dont really care for it) still angers my road advisor, telling me this highway road underpass is congested, and its only this one. plenty others are fine. so i thought maybe u can help me on that. my main city placements (schools, police, firefighter, hospital, etc.). it does affect the way my city grow, and my school/health advisor always complains to me about strikes. i would place more schools and stuff, but in my opinion, its unrealistic. i know its stupid, but if i have no choice, please tell me that. tips on the right place to put my schools in residentials, police in all, etc. etc. depending on my traffic layout would help. i recently realized that the circle of schools and other buildings dont necessairely mean it has an effect with everyone in the circle. one more thing, my region is flat land, so no trees or water. does water affect my city in any way? like city development (excluding use of transportation), i know trees help with development because its relaxation.
  18. every single city of mine has its own demand (right now my main city is flocking over 300k or less [cant remember the exact numbers] with a single help of another city). my main city would sometimes hit minus RES demand, and my commercial demand, i would expect it to always stay up even if i filled the region with commercial jobs. For HT industry, its high to along with medium and dirty and agriculture, but not as high as commercial, and i would use a HT landmark with 25,000 jobs to save up a lot of space in my industry city, industry is the last zone il use to waste space on a region(and i would need to place the landmarks near the RES zone otherwise itll go abandoned, but sometimes the landmarks go abandoned anyway due to 'low demand' which doesnt make sense because my HT demand stays over 15000 nomatter how many landmarks i put.. maybe its a glitch?). I wish there were a landmark with 25,000 jobs for medium, dirty industry and agriculture, would help a guy like me a lot. the thing that bothers me a lot is the abandonment caused by commute time. and sorry ScarcticGG, i couldnt picture what u were trying to tell me on #1, maybe more details would help. i do have a lot of mods including NAM, CAM, and SAM.
  19. ohh i forgot to mention, my commercial demand is skyrocketing over 16,000. its strange because last time i had this abnormal commercial demand, large towers would pop out like expected, but not this time.
  20. whenever I put the bridge height mod in my plugin folder, it messes up the whole folder, it makes it so when i click the plugins folder, i get an error and i exit every window inevitably. so im wondering if theres a fix for that. thanks
  21. Bridge height mod issue

yes that is possible. and i dont want that to be the cause of losing all my mods
  22. Tinston

Black highway? Wow, never seen that before. What mod did you get to get black highways?
  23. after i downloaded a mod to add in some additional medium industry buildings, the tiles under were blue, and some buildings were build on grass, or so i saw. so i thought it wasn't a big deal and i deleted the mod and the packs which were supporting the mod. i still kept BSC mega props JRJ vol06 and BSC textures volume 03 (which had vol 01 included) to support a mod i had to keep, highway walls, you know the ones you plop on a slope. all was fine while i was building my city. then early on when my appartments grow, i saw something out of order. probably the most annoying thing i ever saw. i didn't know what to do. i was afraid even if i deleted all the mods that it would stay this way. the tiles are messed up, its like a checker board! if anyone has a solution to this problem, it would help real much. thanks!
  24. Let's play checkers!!

tungston: as far as im concerned, my apartment buildings came with maxis, i didnt need to download them. knowing that, i still dont dont understand how its still possible for a missing dependency to mess up my apartments to. his divine hand: are you saying the dependencies i downloaded replaced the tiles that were supposed to be behind my apartment buildings? i thought i had all the dependencies needed.
  25. ok so i start off with a new region, everything is flat, no lakes either, just a flatland region. i start off with a medium size city and i build according to the 'demand'. you know the usual starting $R and $I-m demand, so i build some roads like im building a maze, and i place the zones accordingly. then eventually i get some commercial demand, blah blah blah, schools, hospitals, few small fire stations and a university, and parks here and there (you wouldnt find a park everywhere though). at this point i havent even put in one police station and the advisor is praising me for what a peaceful city it is. (I have CAM - colossus addon mod, i dunno if that changes anything though) the whole city is practically low density, well most of it. some medium industry and medium commercial zones due to my advisor's advice, the city is all well. since my city was expanding and i have over 2m$, my roads become problematic. i never knew how to fix that problem without bulldozing zones, if anyone can find a solution that would be nice. but thats not the problem. my residential demand was hopping over 15,000. low density residential demand!! im a friggen homeless person magnet! anyways, at this point i was real lost. since i almost ran out of space to zone, and i knew that with a population of 14,000 or so, i wouldnt be able to reach 100,000 sims in one city, where i can have hope of having big towers grow! sounds amazing huh? no actually that sounds bizzare. so anyways, just for the heck of it, i put medium and high residential in some of the remaining space left. the high density grows apartments, where my medium density grows bungalos. i thought, well this is hopeless, until i saw a sudden rise on demand with the zones i just layed down. what?! so i put some high tech industry hoping for some to grow, putting millions of plaza's (actually 20, i counted) till i saw some grow. i realized then i had to put parks/trees near high density zones to have them grow at all, mostly parks. (commercial is hopeless, cause all i grew was flea markets. even though it was in quite high demand) even so, i didn't see any huge condos grow. with all this information, what would you do to make my city prosper like a metropolis. what good tips can you give. help would be appreciated, thanks.
