Dystopian city building games
schokoladeneis 1 replied to Stellaris88's topic in City-Building Games
I think SC4 is your best bet to recreate a good looking dystopian or futuristic city. There a thousands of custom made Bats and Lots to choose from. Take a look at Bipins files or download some prefab residential buildings. -

Simcity Societies from 2007 has a vanilla feature to build dystopian cities. But the game is not that good at all. -

why not? You can build whatever you want. Download some buildings from the STEX and build your dystopian city. Then take some screenshots and edit them in gimp or photoshop. Increase the Contrast, lower the saturation and exposure or give the screenshots a color tint . Be creative. -
Ami's Berlin: Assets (L.A. westside map released)

Is the roof of the lower parts really red? I always thought they used copper (Grünspan). Nevermind I saw the picture above. But I think it's too much saturated. Or is that because of the lookuptable (LUT) you're using? -
released Cities: Skylines - "Mass Transit" Disucssion
schokoladeneis 1 replied to Tim The Terrible's topic in Cities: Skylines General Discussion
Yeah it was in Dresden. To supply a vw-factory with parts. In Berlin they consider to sent dhl/ups/amazon parcels in the night with trams to carco hubs. From the hubs by delivery van to the recipients. Here is an article about that (unfortunately its in german but there is a pic of the cargo tram from Dresden.)- 147 Replies

Ah, now I get the concept of your curb assets. The additional pictures you uploaded to the workshop helped me to understand.
-
Awesome Will it be possible to combine your curb into bigger shapes like the curbs from KingLeno?
-
thank you! Does " 5x10-h4.FBX" stands for 5X10 tiles and a height of 4?
-
Is it possible to make 1x1/2x2/etc... sized templates so that anyone with photoshop/gimp-skills can make decals without needing to make and export a box in a 3D-software like 3ds-max or blender? If I open these programs I'm usually a little bit overwhelmed.

okay... what about more cycle infrastructure? I absolutly love to see my cycle network getting used. If it's possible a three tiles wide street with only one carline, one line for parking and one extra wide line for cycling would be awesome. like this:- 813 Replies

If you run out of ideas... You could make decals for roads warning car drivers to slow down. Maybe a "SLOW" or "SCHOOL" decal? By the way incredible puddles.

It was probably an old bulb. Sometimes older ones get a green or magenta tint. -
Network Extensions Project
schokoladeneis 1 replied to GC_Vos's topic in Cities: Skylines Modding - Open Discussion
I think we should discuss this in the MOM-thread. The MOM/Metro tracks use a third rail to supply the metro cars. Using a third rail together with car traffic infrastructure would be difficult. LA Metro powers the cars with catenarys. That's why I would use the Tram Network. Maybe someone will mod Tram tunnels and Tram underground stations into the game in the future. But a combination of MOM and Tram is not possible.- 813 Replies

I think this was already talked about in the thread of the MOM. Metro and Trams are two completly different networks in game. Merging them would be very difficult or impossible and probably not worth the time because in RL there're not a lot of these combined networks. The assumption is that even if it's possible not a lot of player would use it. I hope I don't missqoute anyone.- 813 Replies

Sometimes I don't like the scale of assets created for CS. A lot of them are oversized. The same I feel about your boardwalks. They need to cut down every big tree they can find to get logs this big. I wish you best luck if you try to implement the GUI.- 813 Replies

Lorry crashes into Berlin Market -- ISIS Terror Attack
schokoladeneis 1 replied to BLANKBLANK's topic in Current Events
Please read the article you posted. Nobody says that it (shooting in the mosque in Zurich) was an islamic terror attack. Please everybody calm down and please don't spread any misinformation or rumors until the motives or circumstances are better known. Yeah maybe it was an terror attack at the Gedächtniskirche we will know better in one day. Maybe Daesh will claim responsibility maybe not. -
Lorry crashes into Berlin Market -- ISIS Terror Attack
schokoladeneis 1 replied to BLANKBLANK's topic in Current Events
What is wrong with you? Until now it's not clear if this is an attack and you demand that the driver should be tortured and get killed? And even if it was a terrorist attack, it's not okay at all to do somethik like this to a person, as bad as the person might be. But I guess it's now "normal" to start a big manhunt until we take "revenge". -
Beardmonkey's stuff
schokoladeneis 1 replied to _Beardmonkey's topic in Cities: Skylines Modding - Open Discussion
Just realising that the graffiti is too small. It would be more realistic if you upscale it to fit the coplete wall or replace the textures with gaffiti/tags which are in RL smaller. Is your plan to release the drums as seperate props? It would be really awesome to combine them with the fire prop to make grungy areas underneath our elevated highways -

How is the problem solved at the intersections of the 2 tiles wide fancy pedestrian/cycle streets? Because there we have road markings at the crossings.- 813 Replies
