looks like you might be getting to the size (at least on the east) where another freeway would be useful - that drive would be terrible to go around the canyon from the farthest northeast suburbs. great looking city, looks like a real desert city with the cleancut green vs desert lines. a lot like flying over nevada. dave

if you do the storefronts as real stores, couldn't you make a prop family of storefronts for a bunch of different chains, so that each time the building came up it'd have a different combo of storefronts? maybe it'd be too much work, but it'd be pretty sweet. dave

that's the nicest looking barrio logan i've seen. this is coming out great, and looks like it'd be easier to drive than the real thing. dave

it seems like the east side might be spread out enough, but the beltway idea on the west side was too close to the existing inner loop. it might not hurt to have something east of the city from the 48 to the 11 (running somewhat along the proposed route) to help accomodate future growth, and encourage lower commute times. i suppose it's up to if the funding/construction would be worth it though. dave

Goldiva, 2 quick things: 1) Your marina is amazing, it's become one of my favourite things to really add a nice touch to a waterfront. 2) I misspelled your name somewhere else when reccomending the marina, sorry. Seriously, that and the waterfront hotel are great work, congrats on the recognition. Dave

South Park isn't a bad neighborhood, I was just trying to convey that while it's improved and not slums, it's not a beautifully master-planned suburban area. Another similar situation would be the North Park/Hillcrest areas, which are both rather nice middle-class neighborhoods, but they still have problems with homeless people and needles laying on the ground. They're not bad neighborhoods, but they're not idyllic communities either. As long as I'm posting also, I've been unsure if I should reccomend upgrading El Cajon Blvd/Washington St to an avenue, cause it is a major 6-lane road (at least from I-5 to I-805), with very high traffic volumes, but the speed limit is usually only 35mph, which is closer to a road. great job with the golf course, south park/logan heights/barrio logan are all R$ and (at most) R$$ neighborhoods. middle class, but not the kind of neighborhood most suburbanites would want to get lost in at night. dave
