  1. Letzebuerg pt.2

Some of the best work I've seen! Great job and thanks for sharing with all of us
  2. High-density CS lots?

Thallimer Block, by SimGoober. Handy building with over 8,000 CS$ jobs. Search for hotels, that's another good one. I will also build outlet malls, and shopping districts with nothing but department stores, malls, strip malls, and restaurants. Helps eat up that demand, luck my friend
  3. First Person Shooters

As with all things, it's not the medium, it's the people. I play a lot of CoD, but I do it with my friends mostly. We cut up, BS, and generally have fun. And we find many matches, albeit less than not, where we find decent players that aren't about talking tough on a microphone. Now CoD, could be the best, but lag comp allows for sales to more people. Once again, it's the people, they sell a game to people that can't really "afford", shall we say. The people buy it, get lag comp because they're white trash, I say this because you can't go and high speed internet game, with your 2MB walmart connection. But as with again, people, they don't know or care to know they're basically cheating. They just want to go through life thinking they're awesome, doesn't matter if they're right or not... Plus, as my final point, it's people. Soon as they have an advantage, they press it, lord it over others, and general unpleasantness... It's the choice people make. In reaity, it's not bad games, or people that immerse themselves too far. It's that people have free will, whether they believe it or not, and they do very little to justify having it...

Thank you! That means very much to me!
  5. Show us What you're Working On

  6. Show us your Riverside, Lakeside, or Oceanside

Just a couple I've been trying out lately, any advice would be greatly appreciated. I feel like I can do it just a little bit more realistic...
  7. Can't find it?... Ask here!

Elavery: Look up JasonCW, his stuff will have the building you want, plus many other must have bats
  8. RHW overpass issue

Maybe not enough tiles to maintain the RHW, id suggest lengthening it 1-2 tiles a try a get a starter piece in there
  9. Can't find it?... Ask here!

You and me both brother. Its something Bipin made, and ROFLYoshi uses them often, but I cant get them to tell me where they're at. I hear they were in Bipin's thread but I searched for hours and hours, never found the link...
  10. Show us Your Interchanges!

I'd change it to a regular AVE-4 at the crossing, use the tulep pieces to create off ramps and use MIS instead of OWR-1, since they're basically the same, then have it transition back to a RD-4 after the crossing. You'll keep you're RD-4, and you may like the look of the median in the transition. Worth a try...
  11. Indiana Joe is correct. Besides, who ever heard of a subway in a town of less than 200,000?? (Info based upon Belgrade being one of the largest cities without an underground rail, and Lillie, (200,000 pop) being one of the smallest cities with a subway system)
  12. 54. Burg Eltz Overlook

    Excellent!!
  13. Zeroing City - Part 8

Sweet, that's some very fine work! : ))
  14. Show Us Your Anti-Grid!

I like how you got all the grass textures to match and blend seamlessly, I'd be both very interested and grateful to learn how you accomplished that! That's some really good work...
  15. DK35 Westin Peachtree Hotel, Atlanta, GA

Thank you, now that's some serious talent! : ))
  16. What would be the best texture mod?

I use that mod, what bugs do you speak of my friend?
  17. sorry to ask but new to sim city4

Try here.... need to register, but you should if you aren't already https://www.sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_main.php
  18. sorry to ask but new to sim city4

I started playing SimCity back on the Amiga, and since I've played every version. I paid $20 almost 10 years ago for this game, played it off and on for a few years, usually long enough for the game bugs to drive me nuts, then one day I was like, Hmmm I wonder if anyone ever made more maps... 1 web search later and a click on an interesting site call Simtropolis, and BAM!!! What's this? Hmmm, NAM, never heard of it, click to download, install, WOW!!!! My game works now!!?! What's this??!? There's more? Thousands of mods and an entire worldwide community dedicated to building cities? Almost a decade later and it's amazing the things I've seen...
  19. Oh I understand that one, but one of my most used and basic fillers are the SFBT diagonals, which blend just right with it. They're really fantastic lots. SFBT are awesome!! Yeah I use my sidewalk mods to change to a uniform style. I tried doing it wealth classed, but was getting strange patched sidewalks. Paeng's mod is sweet!! Cool, your opinion is greatly appreciated. I've been playing off and on for the past decade, and every time I get better at understanding the game and adding mods, but also at creating something I've been striving for years to accomplish. I love this game but more for the community that comes with modding and experimenting. The encouragement and support here is exemplary! I don't think I have the talent for batting, but I've been getting pretty good at lotting and want to contribute to the whole, since it's helped bring me hours of enjoyment and community
  20. Maybe I'm getting too far off topic, but it's still about textures and such, but how important do you think it is to have different textures among the wealth classes? I'm about to start my fourth and final plugins folder and am trying to decide to have one texture for all industrial lots, parking lots, plaza textures. I definitely can't have differences like the side walk changing 3 times in 200 ft because a couple medium wealth business are next to a high wealth. I could really use some general feedback that if all the lots in my regions had the same textures for everything. For example.... I relotted everything to have only one type of parking textures, SHK all around, and only sandstone plaza textures, using only giraffe and CP trees, and so on. I strive for realism, but would that look too manufactured to accomplish total realism? Questions and comments welcome, thanks
  21. Thanks, well, I only have 3 textures to deal with, the pale green along roads, the sandstone from Paeng's texture changer, and my terrain mod. I have a grass background I got working again that's already pretty seamless so edges of the map and when transparent tiles show through, you can hardly tell. With the IRM and it's fillers, I've been able to create seamless networks. Next step I'm polishing my lotting skills and I'll start laying down uniform textures among all lots I download, getting all base textures, the parking lots and trees to all be uniform. I'm finally about ready to start CJing
  22. Goober Town :-)

Thank you :-) I must say though - lately there are a number of guys who improved dramatically, specially in the 'nature department'... browsing the CJs starts to be addicting =:-)   Oh Yeah, totally agreed!! I'm following about a dozen really exceptional CJ's, but I've always had the goal to become as good as you in blending and just creating breathtaking landscapes. I'm inspired by many, but you are by far my biggest inspiration. Appreciate it, and I couldn't have half as much fun without all the cool lots you've released. I owe thanks to many, but yours are essential to my building style! : ))
  23. So how would one go about finding the textures in say, your terrain mod and using those to blend seamlessly?
  24. sorry to ask but new to sim city4

Nonny Moose is right, check out the threads, but remember, it will take a few years to download, test and learn to edit lots if you want to create stuff like some of the really gifted people here. You need to learn how the simulator functions and the different mods work to develop the play style you're looking for. I've built 3 massive plugins folders of 5 GB or more, each taking at least a year to flesh out, so remember to be patient and factor in a big learning curve. But there are lots of people here eager to offer wonderful advice and support, you'll see
  25. Goober Town :-)

Agreed!! Soon as I saw Paengia scroll across the banner, I clicked on it with barely a thought.... As always you are my biggest inspiration! Wonderful excellent innovative work my friend. You are my SimCity Hero!!! Huge Thumbs Up!!
