With the finish line in sight, it's just a quiet sail across Storm Bay into Hobart.

Great start to the CJ! I approve of the proposed bridge. The citizens of Green Island should not be affected by traffic much since the bridge would connect to the main road in Green Island and not interfere with the residential areas.

Hey guys, I was wondering if anybody could tell me what the most popular or "nicest" tree mod is available on the STEX. The maxis trees are just so boring, they just won't do anymore. Thanks

Great update. Nice to see the incredible sprawl compared to what San Paso started out as.

I went to the page on the forum where it tells you how to download a map onto the game, but the information is either extremely outdated or incorrect. For example, every map I try to download, there is no config.bmp file available for it, which I believe is necessary for the file to work. The grayscale image works just fine, but then there is no way to get a config.bmp image, and there is no way to dl the file into the game. Can anyone give me an up-to-date version on how to download a map from the STEX please? It would be greatly appreciated. P.s - The maps in particular i'm trying to download are "Washington State smaller version" by phattonez and "Florida" by MallowTheCloud

How Do You Download Maps? Tutorial is Incorrect
ncvegas replied to ncvegas's topic in Mapping Community Room
Thanks for the help, although when I tried this it did not work for me. I went into the game and opened the regions I saved, and the regions were extremely blocky and did not resemble the actual map at all. Oh well, there seems to be no solution for me. I'll just deal with the maps that Maxis gave me. Thanks for your advice anyway CaptCity. -
I recently downloaded some lots from the STEX, most of which come from Simgoober. I went to the game and all of the files were there and everything appeared fine, except there were no parking lots on any of the buildings. There was only grass where the parking lots should be. I double checked all of my dependancies and evreything was correct. Does anybody know why it's doing this, and is there a way to fix it, or am I just missing a simple dependancy? Thanks - ncvegas

I'm looking for the BSC Essentials mod. I'm downloading a lot of simgoober's files and for some reason I can't find the BSC essentials. Can someone point me to it, or is it even still available? Thanks

Very nice suburb. Exactly where is it in relation to downtown?
-
Very cool, the Bay Point area looks awesome.

Good to see you back N106. I'll definitely be one of the first to snatch up a business opportunity in the 60's!
-
Wow, that's very cool and well planned out. Glad I made my reservation already. Can't wait to see some city screenshots.

Great CJ, I love the small town feel you're giving your cities. And great attention to detail! And I also vote to hop on the tram. I would like to have a town (preferably suburb) named after me: Wood Dale

place custom made houses where i want?
ncvegas replied to dronepower's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
If you try to plop a custom made residential lot, it will quickly become abandoned. In the game it will just say "abandoned due to commute time." It does this after awhile with every plopped residential lot. Why it does this I do not know. -
So how exactly does this work. Do I just say I want to be an urban planner for St. Francis Bay and that's it? If so, then sign me up, I think I can be a vital part to the planning of the city. It looks like a nice city from what I see in the airport picture.

Looks like you've improved your cj's. Looking forward to what the Iron Coast brings.

Very nice start. The photos you've given us look extremely realistic. For a moment I forgot I was looking at an SC4 city. Great Work!

So, I started reading this cj at about 8:00 pm, from the very beginning. I took a half hour break for dinner, then continued reading. I just finished at 12:25 am. That's right, I just spent a full 4 hours reading the entire history of San Paso from the very first update to the most recent. I have seen every event, every business transaction, and every news story to effect your city in the past 4 hours. I have to say, I am EXTERMELY impressed. It is absolutely amazing what you have done with your cj, and I love the details and realism you have shown us. It has been fun reading it, and I can't wait until you return from vacation to keep updating San Paso. My only regret is not being able to follow it from the very beginning. Nonetheless, I am here now, and look forward to becoming a very active businessman in the city of San Paso when you return. Looking forward to following along with all of your future updates as well. Happy New Year's!
