8 pointsI generally just enjoy your CJ posts without comment. However, this time I'm tentatively more excited that my home state of Indiana might appear in your next update.

7 points@Duco Thank you for the comment, glad you liked the horses and carriages @elavery Thank you very much! @Wallibuk Appreciate the nice words! @mike_oxlong Thank you for the kind words! Glad to hear that I've served as an inspiration I'm sorry to hear of your CTD issues, I dealt with some of those in the past and they can be really soul sucking. Hopefully some of @nycsc4's suggestions can help you out @Dead_End @Goldman Sachs Thank you very much! Appreciate the suggestion but I've already switched image providers a couple times so I probably won't be changing yet again. However I did find mess around a bit with my JPG settings and there should now be a bit less color loss now hopefully. @ESP15 Really appreciate the kind words @RobertLM78 Thanks for the comment - glad you liked the Acropolis scene! @tariely Heh, I've had that same feeling on many occasions Glad you enjoyed the update! @AsimPika3172 Thank you for the comment! @VicRusty Thank you very much, glad you liked it! @nycsc4 Thanks for the nice words and tips

6 points@SimRico Thanks for the nice words! Glad you liked the snow pics @Urban Constanta Thank you very much! @matias93 Thanks for the great comment @RobertLM78 Thank you for the comment! I definitely understand, I felt similar while working on certain parts of the update. @kingofsimcity Thank you very much, glad you enjoyed it! @tariely Thank you for the kind words! @Probidence Thanks for the comment! Glad you liked it @JP Schriefer Thank you very much! I appreciate the offer - I'm don't know yet if I'll be continuing this theme any further - but if I decide to expand on it, I'll be sure to let you know @Angry Mozart Thanks! I'll have to keep it in mind for a possible future update.. @tonyr @bladeberkman Thank you very much! I felt at times I would never get it completed due to the sheer size, but I'm glad I was finally able to finish it off. Glad you enjoyed it @Manuel-ito Thanks for the comment! It took a while to tweak the games automata and to get the correct cars on the road - but I think turned out pretty authentic to the era. Glad you liked it @_Michael Thanks! That was one of my larger MMP jobs to date - glad you enjoyed it @ESP15 Thank you for the kind words - they're custom imported BATs. @mike_oxlong Thanks for the nice words! I agree - there's really something special about the architecture during this era and it inspired me to make the update. @aegian Thanks for the comment @Finnbhennach Thanks for the comment, glad you liked it @Scribosilyn Thank you very much! This was probably my biggest project of the year and it took forever, but it was worth it @Ling Ziming You'll get to see even more in the next update
-
5 points@eufl Thanks for the comment and for stopping by! Glad you're enjoying the updates @TekindusT Thank you very much for the comment! I think this update in particular was one of my more time consuming ones in part to all of the background research I had to do and to make sure I got every last tiny detail down. I probably spent 10-15 hours studying old pictures of the city to make sure that I didn't forget anything and to make sure everything was era appropriate - including the plane at the top of the old Pan Am building. @tariely Appreciate the nice words! Glad it reminded you of your time there in the 70s @Jasoncw Thank you very much! @mike_oxlong Thanks for the nice words, glad you enjoyed all the details @RobertLM78 Appreciate the comment and kind words! Hehe, I think I'm probably the same way - the 70s were way before my time, but I've always been really interested in that era, it really has a certain allure to it for sure. @Bastet69008 Thank you very much! Glad you enjoyed the construction scene @mrsmartman Thanks for the kind words! Although I love some of the more modern buildings already built and being constructed in NYC - the 70s and earlier really had a certain charm to it that's hard to match. And as you mentioned - there also seemed to be a very strong architectural identity as well. @Duco Thank you very much for the comment! @ESP15 Appreciate the nice words The construction scenes were made primarily using some custom made models and some lot editor work. Glad you enjoyed the update! @Diego Del Llano Appreciate the comment, glad you liked it! @Hanson784 Thank you very much for the comment! The construction scenes were made using some custom made models, some lot editor work, and a bit of photoshop work - definitely one of the more time consuming aspects of the update, but it was worth it to really give it that 70s vibe. I actually watched some of Koyaanisqatsi a while back - so that and some of the vintage photographs that I was studying of 70s NYC at the time probably influenced some of those clouds and shadows in the scenes. Glad you liked the update @Krasner Thank you very much for the comment! I studied a lot of photographs of 1970s NYC so I was definitely trying to reproduce that vibe in some of my scenes. I tried not to overdo the saturation though because I've found that too much can ruin a pic pretty easily so I was extra cautious there. @Chien Chen Thanks for the comment! The main modding I did was with the taxis - and most of that is still in a WIP stage unfortunately. @airman15 Thank you very much - glad you liked all those 1970s details! @dabadon5 Thank you very much for the nice words! @Mascalzone Thank you for the comment! @Josh6 Appreciate the nice words! @Tyberius06 Very glad you can see the pictures now Glad you enjoyed the update as well, I think after this update I definitely want to visit NYC even more myself now as well @Jackspital Thank you very much, glad you're enjoying the updates!
-
5 points@RobertLM78 Thanks for the comment I'm about done with all of Portland's downtown actually, so that might be coming in another update down the road @tonyr Thank you very much @Androgeos Thanks for the nice words! Virtually everything in this update is from the STEX/LEX (well except for few on lesser known sites like Busch Stadium which I found on TSC). I think there might have been only one custom BAT used here, so it really is a testament to all the great BATers out there @TekindusT Thanks, glad you enjoyed it @SC4L0ver Thank you for the nice comment - yeah, for this update I wanted to show some other US Skylines besides just the big ones, glad you liked it @nycsc4 Thanks for the comment and nice words! It might be difficult to recreate it 100% faithfully in SC4, but I may give it a go if I can find some free time one of these days @Mr Saturn64 Thanks for the comment! I knew you'd like the Philly recreation @mike_oxlong Thanks for the kind words as always @Simmer2 Thank you for the nice words! Glad you liked it. @slickbg56 Thanks for the comment! I've been to a couple other Midwest ballparks before, but haven't been to Busch yet - it's definitely next on the list, looks pretty amazing from what I've seen. And yeah, it's a shame about the rooftop props- the LODs always glitch out or the lack of proper shadows always makes it look weird, so unfortunately that's one area I haven't really touched in this CJ.

4 points@Duco Heh, I was actually thinking of GTA a bit when I was doing the Lombard scene, along with the SF level in THPS1 (If anyone remembers that one). Glad you liked it @RobertLM78 Thank you very much! Lombard was definitely a scene I didn't want to leave out @etg-nc2nyc Thanks, glad you liked the Lombard scene! @tariely @TekindusT Thanks for the comment! Surprisingly they weren't that bad - and the night lighting was actually pretty decent despite the fact they're over 15 years old! @ESP15 Thank you very much, glad you liked the Golden Gate! @Androgeos Thanks for the comment! No, it's not functional unfortunately - the street is just a little custom BAT model I made. Would be cool though if I could find a way to make it functional and make a .gif out of it, but I'm not sure if it's possible. @Terring Thanks for the nice words! Never owned the SF version of Midtown Madness - but your comment brought back some good memories from back in the day when I used to play the Chicago one all day long @The British Sausage Thank you very much! @tonyr Thanks for the nice words! @dabadon5 Thanks for the great comment Glad you enjoyed @JP Schriefer Thanks for the comment! I hope I'll be able to visit one day as well
-
4 points@redfox85 Thanks for the comment and for the background info That would be quite the adventurous route for sure! @Angry Mozart Thank you very much, glad you enjoyed Bora Bora @RobertLM78 Thanks for the comment @pcwhiz24 Thanks for the praise and for the nice words! Glad you enjoyed it @tariely Thanks for the kind words - glad you liked the mosaics! @The British Sausage Thanks, glad you liked it! @JulianMIA Thank you very much! @Linoa06 Thank you for the comment! It's amazing what can still be made with a 15 year old game, glad you liked it. @thorK73 Thank you very much! I don't really keep track but it was a loooong time for sure @tonyr Thanks for the nice words @mike_oxlong Thanks for the comment @Simmer2 Thank you very much! @Urban Constanta Thank you very much for the nice words! @MAW Thanks! Glad you liked the rain GIF and the overview! @rathefalcon Thank you very much for the nice words, glad you liked it! @Odainsaker Thanks, glad you liked it - it's the result of a water mod and some image editing. @Prophet42 Thank you very much, appreciate the comment @diegocunha1 Thanks for the comment - see my answer to Odainsaker. @SC4L0ver Thanks for the nice words, glad you liked Bora Bora and the landscape pics!
-
4 points@The British Sausage Thanks for the comment! @feyss Thanks for the comment! @Prophet42 Thanks for the nice comment, there's plenty more on the way @RobertLM78 Thank you! I haven't seen that particular series, but I've seen the intersection (or atleast a lookalike) featured in a number of places now. It's certainly a popular intersection for sure @dabadon5 Thank you, I hope to complete the rest of the update here shortly @tonyr Thanks for the comment! There's more on the way @Odainsaker Thanks for the comment - love the video too I watched a number of similar videos while deciding on what pictures I wanted to do for the update and I quickly fell in love with the area and knew I had to do it - the intersection was truly quite mesmerizing. @redfox85 Thanks! I'd love to visit there one day as well @Angry Mozart Thanks! I believe I used neko's set which were MMPed by Uki and can be found here: http://uki-sim.seesaa.net/index-9.html and some of the VIP ones in this pack. @Tonraq Thank you! When I first discovered that intersection, I knew I had to try my hand at it Glad you liked it. @TekindusT It was one of those scenes I made sure not to leave out! @SC4L0ver Thank you very much! It took a while to gather up enough HD stuff and to make all the custom textures but the final result was worth it Glad you liked it. @bluesky.23 It's a set of custom made HD lot editor textures I created.
-
4 pointsWow, coincidently, I have been watching this week a jaw-dropping series of videos on Youtube by Rambalac that are just long-take, un-narrated walks through popular locations in Japan, the first of which was Shibuya at night. As the videos are in 4K, you can put them on the big screen for fully immersive people-watching: Korver's scene is so amazingly populated, this clip is like walking through that very SimCity crossing. I think I can even see an MMP street performer singing by the canopy. I never thought when watching these clips that we would soon get the Korver version.
-
4 pointsLovely work here If you would like the unconverted rail yard to come up to RRW specifications you should get the NCD Texture pack found on this link... Anyway. I hope you are enjoying the RealRailway experience. Very good entry to your CJ -eggman121

3 points@tariely Appreciate the kind comment - glad I was able to provide a little refresher I'm not sure yet what's coming up in the near future - we'll have to see where my inspiration leads me next @WolfZe Thank you very much for the comment and nice words @RobertLM78 Appreciate the kind words and support as always It's crazy how fast time flies - seems like it was just yesterday that I was publishing my first couple of updates! I've probably spent more time on this this game than I'd ever like to know - but it's been a fun ride so far for sure. @TekindusT Thanks for the nice comment and for all the support! Getting to #200 or #300 would be pretty amazing - hopefully I can keep True Earth going that long! @VALASatoshi Thank you very much for the nice words - I'm glad to hear that I've been a source of inspiration @Duco @buzzoff67 Thank you very much for the comment! @mike_oxlong Hehe, I'm glad that you're okay after viewing that mosaic Thanks for all the the nice words and support @TheCrybKeeper Thank you very much! @JasoncwThank you very much for stopping by - appreciate the kind words @Androgeos Appreciate the comment - I think part of what still attracts me to SC4 is pushing this old game to it's limits and seeing what's possible despite the limitations. It's been a great ride so far - thanks for all the support @JP Schriefer Thank you for the nice words as always! @MrCinatit Thanks for the kind words!
-
3 points@Duco Thanks for the nice words! There will lots of possibilities for sure, so I'm looking forward to it! @RobertLM78 Thanks for the kind words - his uploads are truly fantastic! Glad you liked it. @bladeberkman Thank you for the comment, glad you enjoyed the update! Picking the right lots and making sure everything fit well together was probably the most important part of this update - I think for the Norilsk scene I spent half the time just bulldozing stuff over and over and over until I got it perfect. @Androgeos Hehe, although it is an interesting coincidence - I actually read about that update after I completed these pictures Thanks for the comment! @The British Sausage Appreciate the comment - glad you liked the LA river scene! @Dirktator Thanks for stopping by, glad you enjoyed the update @Simmer2 Thanks for the nice words and for all your hard work on these incredible uploads. They really helped make this update a reality @TekindusT Appreciate the comment - glad you enjoyed the rust and grit @gwada971 Thank you very much for the nice words - I agree, rust definitely can be beautiful. Glad you liked it! @mike_oxlong Thank you very much for the kind words! Although I've done some assorted industrial scenes over the years, I haven't done anything on a scale this big before - so it was a good opportunity to break some new ground in True Earth.
-
3 pointsOh man, you did it again. I agree with you about the work of Simmer2. In the read me of his fuel terminal, he mentioned an upcoming pipeline set. I can imagine they will fit perfectly.
-
3 pointsWell, I better comment before the site goes offline for me again........ that said.... Whoa........ that glacier....... the mosaics...... the waterfront...... how do you do it?! I'll get back to my box o' crayons.... Seriously nice work. Thanks for sharing...!

-
3 points@tariely Thank you very much for the comment - it's a custom building I got online and exported it for the game. @sc4baidu Thank you @nukehumvee Appreciate the comment Yeah, I'm not really sure what the issue is with that fountain - I had all the dependencies for it and spent about an hour messing around with it but could never get it to show up properly. Eventually I just ended up doing some LE work and used the fountain from the Palace of Fine Arts landmark. @RobertLM78 Thanks for the comment! Unfortunately I don't think I've ever met anyone from Singapore yet - but I've always been fascinated by it from what I've read/seen online so I figured it was about time for an update on it @Duco Thanks for the nice words! @SS3K Thank you very much @mike_oxlong Thanks - glad you enjoyed the update @AsimPika3172 Thanks for the comment Well, I think eventually I might made dedicated updates for some of the cities featured in this update so Kuala Lumpur might get a update one day. But my to do list is miles long, so we'll see.. it's going to take quite a while.. @Androgeos Thank you! Unfortunately there weren't a whole bunch of Singapore BATs out there - and there wasn't a whole lot I could find online to bring into the game so I had to use more replacements than usual for that scene. While I've BATed a decent number of buildings and various objects for this CJ in the past - keep in mind that I do have limits and there's other important things that I need to focus on as well. @TekindusT Thank you very much! @MilitantRadical Always cool hearing things like that - I'm glad you enjoyed it
-
3 pointsNice work on these scenes I like both the Balkan and Sao Paolo pictures! That bridge , amazing! Thanks for sharing these! - Tyberius
-
3 pointsWhat the..? How do you do this so quickly and maintain such unmatched quality? I swear you finish an entire region in the time it takes for me to scroll through a menu! P.s. outstanding work again!

3 pointsTruly amazing! I'm just awe struck of this time traveling CJ update and am wondering how you did the Trade Towers under construction- each photo is incredible on its own. Also love the cloud shadow effects on the buildings, it reminds me of the beginning of the film Koyaanisqatsi with the time lapse skyline and shadows from the clouds sailing across the building facades. Parts of the movie were filmed in NYC in the late 70- early 80's btw.
-
3 pointsAy ay ay, ¡¡mi linda ciudad!! Finally recreated in SC4!!!! And finally done some justice. Amazing entry, you totally nailed Tenochtitlán and Teotihuacán, The Zócalo looks impressively close to the real thing, and the Paseo de la Reforma pics are awesome, especially the nightime one. Very creative recreation of Chapultepec, both the Castle and the hill, especially with the MMP's, I just wish someone would dare BAT the actual castle, which is an impressive sight. Great work, as always, Korver
-
3 points@tariely Thanks for the comment Glad you enjoyed it! @TekindusT Appreciate the comment, glad you liked my Zocalo recreation! @Dead_End Thank you, appreciate the comment! @The British Sausage Thanks for the kind words on the Zocalo scene @RobertLM78 Thanks for the nice words, glad you enjoyed the historical scene! @mike_oxlong Thank you very much for the nice comment!

3 pointsHong Kong became in one of my very favorite world cities after visiting it last September. My first time ever in Asia started in one of the cities that have fascinated me the most since years, and this fascination was only reinforced. It became an instant favorite among this world full of amazing cities. And your update is reinforcing this feeling even more! I see the compromises you had to make in the recreation, especially in the road ramps and the maze of overpasses between Admiralty and the Bank of China or in the strongly sloped neighborhoods south of The Center building, the Mid-Levels. But none of that is of importance after seeing the very BEST Hong Kong airport recreation ever done in SC4. Don't know how you did that, but it truly looks like the real thing!!
-
3 pointsNice touch saving the most well-known landmark (the Oriental Pearl Tower) for the very end of the update! BTW, love the historic pics you show at the beginning of the Melbourne and Shanghai updates, keep them up!
-
3 pointsThanks for the comment @RobertLM78! Finding the right BATs is always one of the most time consuming parts of any update - especially for Shanghai as due to the various architectural styles. In addition to all the Shanghai specific buildings (including some custom BATs) I ended up using a bunch of stuff mainly from dmscopio, reddonquixote, SimCity China, various Japanese sites, and even some by Gascooker to pull off the look.
-
3 pointsVery nice...... I wonder how long it must take you on average to find enough BATs to make the city look real.

3 points@sebking99 The highway under bridge lot can be found here - unfortunately it isn't 100% compatible with the specific reskin I was using though (MHO Highway override set) so it required a little touching up. Thanks for the nice words! @Whte_rbt I have to admit I've never seen or heard of Koyaanisqatsi before - but some of the YT trailers have been extremely fascinating. You've definitely piqued my interest Thanks for stopping by, appreciate the comment! @Androgeos Thanks for the kind words! The Brooklyn Bridge should be available in the vanilla game I believe (for Avenues and Highways) - but you'll need to make sure that the length of the bridge is long enough first. The interchange you mentioned should be available in the NAM - if you're not doing a complete installation make sure you click on the box for Maxis Highway Interchange & Ramp Additions. @mrsmartman Thanks for the comment! NYC has always had a special place in SC4's history, whether it be from the in game landmarks or the incredible custom content. I really wanted to make sure I did the Big Apple justice in these updates @Hanson784 Thanks for the comment and nice words! Glad to hear from one of the NYC masters - your blog was a wonderful source of inspiration while working on this update @scotttbarry Thank you very much for the comment! It's certainly on the bucket list @T Wrecks Thanks for the nice words and for stopping by! Countless hours were spent on Google Earth and Google Street View to make sure I got every last detail down - glad you enjoyed it @SC4L0ver Thank you very much! There's still many, many more cities and different styles I want to explore this year so stay tuned @bladeberkman Thanks for the nice words! Those @kingofsimcity park sets are a real game changer for park scenes - I hope I'll be able to feature them some more in the future @MAW Thanks for the comment! Glad you enjoyed the gif @AlphaAviator Thanks for the comment! @adventurerneil Thank you very much, glad you enjoyed the update!
-
3 pointsNew York City is definitely one of the most important cities in SimCity 4. It has more Maxis landmarks than any other city. Thank you very much for your comprehensive and accurate recreation of NYC. I especially like your recreation of Financial District and Terminal City.
-
3 pointsI'm not surprised you chose so many night pictures. A big city like New York is most impressive at night. (and oh, Lady Liberty. Perfect shot.) Wonderful mosaics ! People who say "I don't play night" don't know what they are missing ! :-))))
-
3 pointsI have to cancel so many trips because you recreate these cities so well there is no point in actually going to any of these places.
-
3 pointsWho could think we would even see Maxis BATs in this update! Knocked it out of the park once again!
-
3 points(...Or maybe this one that just sounds like it could last forever and still hold your mind the same. Pretty good soundtrack to depict such a huge city I guess ? )
-
3 pointsI haven't commented on your MD for a while - but for that particular entry, I must say that you're still getting better and you still surprises me ^^ Many images here have a particular shine, I always spot new details and I'll certainly come back to this more than once - as well as Lagos has been for years one of the few cities I'd like to go to one day. I especially like how you managed to somehow, extract a damn realistic "sparkle" from these Maloskero buildings. Thanks ! (Also, for anyone who may want some accurate soundtrack for this, why not some from this famous Lagos musician Fela Kuti ?...)
-
3 pointsExcellent! And to answer your question...here you go. Its not a texture, it is an actual MMP. Tricky to plop but looks good when well placed.
-
3 pointsThanks for the comment @Simmer2! Nope, theres no photoshop in the scene aside from a slight filter and border (custom lot editor textures made myself too) - all the people were MMPed and came from these packs: and https://www.sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=3448. @mike_oxlong Thanks for the comment, I hope to get it out here pretty soon
-
3 pointsEI Central Park West gets a much needed face lift. What do you think... Before: After:
-
3 pointsWow! You've created an unbelievable work of art. As someone who's worked high up in the Chrysler building, I can assure you that your view is as good as the one I had in person! You even got the gargoyles right, amazing! Thanks.
-
3 pointsFirst things first: fantastic update, and how fast! Is the idea to close 2017 with all of this, or you have something else for January (I'm also guessing we both are on the part of the Earth where is still 2017 ) About the UN headquarters architects, the winning project, called 42G, is basically a mix mainly based on Niemeyer's original project 32, nonetheless heavily influenced by Le Corbusier and his project 23 (in fact, Le Corbusier initially tried to avoid Niemeyer to make a proposal at all and just contribute to his). To get an idea, Le Corbusier wanted to make a single structure centred on the lot, with the assemblies rooms as the base and the Secretariat tower raising from there, while Niemeyer prefered to distribute the different buildings on the southern side of the lot and reserve the northern side for a civic park; in any case, he ended conceding to Le Corbusier on the placement of the General Assembly building, which ended located in the centre of the lot.
-
3 points*Standing ovation* Phenomenal job and I love the fact that you recreated NYC in all of its 1930's art deco glory; Jay Gatsby would be very proud! I can tell a great deal of research went into this since to get the period streetscape right since you have the old Third & Sixth Avenue elevated lines and even the old streetcar lines. Though, some of the residential midrise BAT's by AG were constructed in the 50's-60's but that's a minor point. Central and Madison Square Park look amazing as well; only wish I could have finished my BAT of the Flatiron Building to go with it. Very inspirational for my own (present day) recreation of New York
-
3 pointsOk, it is, Korver is playing against the final boss of SC4: to recreate New York has been the eternal dream of every player and the reason so many people had to start creating content; this entries will mark a before and an after on the history of city simulators, just mark my words.
-
2 pointsCongratulations on your 100th update! I love logging on to see new entries by Korver! Your work is not only amazingly beautiful, but like I’ve said before, it inspires ideas for me to use in game as well. Sometimes I’ll go back and look at your past entries to not only admire their beauty, but also to get ideas or try and figure out how you made something so I can do something similar. Looking forward to more future updates!
-
2 pointsThe Edificio España shot reminded me of some old in-jokes about the creator of that BAT being intimidated by the sheer complexity of the building. Can't really blame him for that though, the actual building has a lot of detailing Also, that's an amazing scene of El Escorial. Debussyman's BATs really stood the test of time
