hello everybody,

I'm French and I am 43. The first time I played to SC was on Amstrad CPC464 and Amiga 500 (during the 80's) so some years ago... Then Ibought SC3000 and after I bought SC4 as soon as the first day in the store.

I follow Simtropolis for almost 20 years. I will try to share my cities. I did several in the past but unfortunately I lost all of them :(. I try to start again something interesting.

See you soon

Hi to everyone

For starting im from Colombia, im 14, and i supose that you are thinking ¿Why are you playing a such old game? Well is simple, i searched for a city builder game that can run in a  very bad pc, and before seeing a video i discovered SimCity 4, i played a lot in the vanilla game (1 years since the 2021), and i maked some cities (without any planing); in the beggining of the year when my parents bought me a better pc i encounter the world of mods, the change was marvelous, the NAM, the SPAM, the buildings from Mattb325, the industries from Simmer2 and the comercial buildings from MadHatter make me create an account also start a new city called "Tuní" , and in im the present hoping to become a good Mayor. *;)

The dependencies should be listed on each item's description. If you want to get the most common dependencies ahead of time, you might download the new compilation from SC4 Evermore (Link).

for a slow computer, I'd recommend looking at "Banished" as well.

Hey there! I’m Marble!

I’ve been a fan of the SimCity series for about 1-2 months at this point. I tried out SimCity Classic, and its zen-like experience captivated me like no other. I wanted to see if I could learn the ropes of every SinCity game and make a city for each game. Unfortunately, SimCity 2000 and 3000 are getting the best of me, and I haven’t tried 4 yet *

I also just released a guide for how to get SimCity Classic working on Windows 10.

Hope you like it!

Hello everyone! It's really amazing that the modding scene and the rest of the community keeps this old game going. I first played SC4 some time after the Rush hour expansion. Got back into it recently again and I have a feeling that I'm going to spend quite some time playing it the coming months.

I make things. Sometimes, they're really mundane and boring. Sometimes, they're insane. Once in a while, I even sell a piece at an obscene markup.

I grow things. Sometimes, it's just lettuce and other times, it's crazy colored vegetables no one's ever seen before.

I talk fast, I drive fast, and I act fast. Once in a while, when the boss is looking, I work fast.

I type and talk like few people do, it's the Asperger's. Or the ADHD. They're duking it out up there.

So anyway, here's a trellis I made from a Bentwood rocker. Some people see a frog, some see a bug.

Laughter is the very best medicine. Remember that when your appendix bursts next week.

“Space is big. You just won’t believe how vastly, hugely, mind-bogglingly big it is. I mean, you may think it’s long way down the road to the chemist’s, but that’s just peanuts to space.”

so I guess my post wasn't up to standards. Weird.

I'll keep that in mind going forward. Certainly won't mention neurodivergence or anything controversial.

Hi all!

Grew up on SC2K. Been diving into modding SimCity 4 recently after learning about the NAM from youtube vids. I have thoroughly been impressed with the quantity of quality content available from this community. Remember folks, just because you rock doesn't mean you're made of stone! Nyuk nyuk. Thanks a ton to everyone for their contributions over the years. SC4 is a blast and it's getting even better with every download!

Hi everyone!

Been playing a ton of SimCity 4 lately and was excited to see a community for both this game and just this genre of games. City building has been a hobby of mine and I'm excited to be here!

Currently: Viewing Topic: Simtropolis Returns!

I don't know should I go into hiatus or not. But I think Simtropolis has just become a rep contest. The forum activity has going down that any content that's not CJ or BAT is just talking to the wall. I really miss Cori-led era so much, where I get tons of helpful replies and appreciative reps. So much that I could made a 3 pages worth of topic and my random topic somehow got 24k views over 5 years. Not to mention any PMs would be responded quickly. It's not just me feeling this. I observe there's no new Raymond or Kloudkicker in 2023, except again batters and CJers. No topic this year that can even beat some of the lowest performer of 2 or even last year. Sorry if I have a misunderstanding or anything. But if ST hasn't given me any value, I'll consider ST getting the same treatment as other social media. Except ofc, I won't delete it. Just take a hiatus for a while. Meanwhile, I'm struggling how to make a great content.

Hey everybody, after a bad motherboard junked my laptop, I started reinstalling my gaming library from scratch on a new laptop. I don’t have much time for gaming so I decided I’d spend quality time with the classics this time. So on went SC4 — and then I discovered NAM. I think I’m going to enjoy this. :)

Hello Simtropolisians

My name is Abandoned and I have been playing Banished for many years and posted many stories about my towns on the World of Banished website which is now down and not likely to be back up anytime soon if at all.  I hope to continue some story telling here.  I played some SimCity many years ago.  This seems to be a very nice site. Happy to be here

hello @Abandoned good to see you here, still hoping the situation with WOB is temporary but not optimistic given the message on the home page, @Brad is here as well, if any more of the WOB members turn up we might want to think about setting up a "World of Banished" club  :thumb:

Hi @catty-cb , good to be here.  I have been exploring the site a bit.  I see that open clubs have their own City Journals.  It seems inserting pictures is a bit more complicated here than what I was used to back on WOB site.  Since the early site problem the pictures in the earlier stories were all lost; I had been thinking of doing an overview of the stories from the beginning with a few pictures each.  There were 98 stories posted, today I would have posted the intro to story 99.

If I decide to post an overview of the stories here, would it be best to post in the Other Games forum or the City Journals?

I am hoping WOB will be restored but if not, I hope others will follow, there were a few posts with the links to this site, I had it bookmarked. Thanks for those links. *:)

I think its more a case of do you want to use the space in your own "My Attachments" area, go to top right of screen and click dropdown on your name then click "My attachments" and that will show you how much file storage space you have, and it doesn't have to be pictures that's where I stuck the ModMan program and you just click on the "Choose Files" and then insert into the post

If you want to add it anywhere else on the site you can by just clicking the "Insert Image / Other Media" and that will bring up all your attachments, looking at the city journal I started in my own club https://community.simtropolis.com/clubs/26-city-builders-website/ I was uploading the pictures into albums on a club gallery so not to use up my storage space.

There is certainly no rush to make any kind of decision as to how you want to do your stories, keep looking around for the next few days ... feel free to try out attachments in my topic here if you want to experiment

And no worries if you want to delete the pictures afterwards  :thumb:

Hello.

My name is Kid and I call myself kid1293 (because Kid was taken on another site I tried to log into)

I am a long-time modder for Banished, and since the World of Banished is down, I followed Abandoned here. :}

I see several other Banished users here. It looks like a nice place.

Catty-cb, I am not seeing how to upload an image into My Attachments.  I only see to upload to the gallery.

If you add a picture to My Attachments and then insert that into a post, if you delete the one in My Attachments will it also be deleted from the post. ?  Thanks

I think you can only use the file uploader when making a post or pm'ing another member. Site loads are limited and I would recommend using Imgur. It's free with seemingly unlimited space. Oh, and btw, welcome to the forum, and everyone else above this post(except catty-cb, who has been here a while, and myself, and everyone who's a longtime member). *:D

As @SIM-ple Jack says your "My Attachments" stores everything you have attached to a post either within the post or as a link at the bottom of the post, same thing applies if you are are sending someone a private message, once its in your "My Attachments" you can delete the attachment or reused it on another post.

File uploads to either the STEX or a club exchange, Galleries and City Journals work a bit different and actually use space on the Simtropolis server rather than the space you have allotted in "My Attachments" area and yes if you delete something from your attachments area its also deleted from the post as well
