Hi @dgplex and welcome to the community. *:8)

We look forward to seeing however you wish to further get involved for anything mayoral themed. It's never too late to do so, and you'll find how there's a whole new dimension of discovery for what's possible in this almost 20 year old game (which isn't even a game). You're very welcome here too!

Hello!

Have been a SimCity fan my whole life, growing up on SC2k, 3k and 4. Have been a lurker for a while on this site but just signed up. Looking forward to using STEX and downloading a bunch of mods!

Hi @nathanbolek and welcome to Simtropolis. *:)

It's great you've made the step to unlurkment status (which is often the most difficult thing to do). Custom content sure does expand on what SC4 is capable of, which then caters to our imagination and creativity for whatever we wish to make. Happy downloading!

Glad to see a fellow Devo fan here!  (And Peek-A-Boo happens to be a Devo song, too . . . are there two Devo fans here by chance?)

The instructions should generally cover everything, though we have had a few cases of things seemingly going wrong recently--usually, insufficient permissions with the 4GB Patch process (running the .bat file as an administrator can help with that), or users trying to go for a more minimal install than is intended, which can break some things.

The NAM's Documentation is online here, and the installation section is here.  The NAM Team is active on the forums here and at SC4D (and on Reddit), and we're generally happy to answer any questions folks might have.

i can see you and i know what you do!

i found that the bat file didnt install NAM for me which was weird. it only installed the 4gb patch and then nothing happened. per the instructions it only says to run the bat file but nothing else continued so i just started poking around in other files to see what would happen. i ended up running the .jar file because i had java installed and that actually worked for me as a complete installer (windows 10 x64). the next thing that may or may not be an issue was (and maybe im doing it wrong?) to just move the traffic sim tool out of the zipped files and keep it with the rest of the NAM plugin folders. i didnt know where else to put it as it didnt create anything for itself during the installation other than .dat files.

Hi everyone! I'm a long-time SC player from as far back as when SC3K was on store shelves. Over the years I've put thousands of hours into these games but my interests are varied so I never bothered joining Simtropolis even though I was familiar and browsed the STEX all the time back in the day. Adulting is tough and every now and then I'm feeling nostalgic so I play a little SC4 here and there. Unfortunately I've had some very annoying experiences with C:S and mods that kinda killed the mood for a long time so I figured I'd throw it back to simpler times. I saw the STEX collections so finally made my first donation to the site! I'm glad to see the community is still alive and well.

Hi @Brosenkranz and welcome to Simtropolis. *:)

That's the great thing that SC4 is a timeless classic. It can arguably be enjoyed to even more potential than it was back in the early days too, given the sheer amount of custom content created over the years (and still is being made today too). We hope you enjoy being part of the community as well.

And thanks for supporting the site too with your generous donation.

(Also by the way, if you don't receive the email with your STEX Collections download links, please do send a message to Cori and me and we'll assist you with that.)

Greetings everyone.

My name is Pedro Almeida and I am a 32 years old computer engineer from Portugal.

I am in love with the SimCity series ever since I was a kid and saw a friend play 2000. Then I got 3000 myself when I was like 10/11 and been an on and off player of SC4 since it came out.

For some reason I started watching SC4 gameplay videos a few weeks ago and that made me want to play again. Those videos also made me feel like a total noob lol so I decided to register here to gain some knowledge and improve my playing experience.

Looking forward to learn and have fun with all of you. Thanks for having me.
