I'm HomerSPC. You can call me Vince. I'm a 17 year old High School senior from Saskatchewan, Canada. I'm a gamer, of course, and I mostly play Xbox and PC. I love to play games like Mass Effect and Call of Duty, however I also am quite into other genres. One of the oldest games that I play is Sim City 4, but I do play other "city builders" like Caesar III. I'm a YouTuber, and if you know who Machinima, Inc. is, I am a partner for them. I make Lets Plays and post-commentaries in a variety of games, one of which just happens to be Sim City 4 as of a few days ago. I've been a member of this community for years but only really started browsing alot in the past week. So, I decided to introduce myself. Anyways, when the new Sim City comes around, I hope to be a valuable member of this community.

I do have a question though. A "Lets Play" is a type of video series in which I play a certain game. I would like to post my Sim City 4 lets play somewhere to get feedback from players of Sim City. Would it be best to post a thread in City Journals for the it?

Welcome HomerSPC! Simtropolis is an awesome simCity community, which is becoming even more active with the recent announcement of SC2013.

As to your question, I think it would be okay to publish it in city journal. There are several CJs which are only around for a while, or have a specific short storyline, and videos is just one medium CJers use, so I say go for it! I look forward to see what you have.

Well, the thread-tittle says to introduce myself here & I'm not one to argue with such things, so here goes nothing:

I am a long-time city building fan (Emperor, Children of the Nile, etc) & serious Sims 2 addict who just got around to installing SC4 DLX about a month ago simply because it's the only way for me to make/edit maps for my dearly beloved Sims 2.

As map-editing was the one & only reason I installed the game, I initially had zero intentions for knowing/learning much of anything about it save for what I needed to make & edit my TS2 maps...but first I needed to make sure it was installed/running right, so I needed to launch it...and playing through the tutorials seemed harmless enough, so I clicked on the first tutorial city...and, well...

Long story short, I quickly discovered that world of custom content (which I am well familar with in TS2) & have been having a blast tricking out my game with all kinds of cool new goodies- which is what lead me to create accounts on a couple SC4 sites, including this one...which is what brought me to this introduce yourself thread.

While TS2 is still my true obsession, SC4 is proving to be a most excellent diversion & I just wanted to say thanks for all the nifty goodies- & a special thanks to CapitalCity who managed to get my registration out of limbo, alowing me to annoy you folks with this pointless post.

(Also sorry for any syntax/spelling errors. For whatever reason FF's spell-checker doesn't seem to work on this site, so I fear my dyslexia is free to do as it pleases!)

@Zirconia - I actually came from the Sims 2 Community, but as I fall behind in the expansion pack stuff, I transitioned to this site, which has several goodies (30,000 files in SimCity 4). Well, don't worry about us being annoyed. Just ask our wonderful staff if you do need help.

hey im 11 but i use my uncle's account to get buildings, do ya think dirk will be cool with that?

anyway, heres a little background about me.

i am 11 years old, my name is Kennedy and im in the 6th grade(a grade ahead)

I first was introduced to sim city 4 when my school did the future city project, and i thought making a city was pretty cool. but the maxis stuff was so boring. so i looked in my documents and i found a plugins folder, then i searched simcity4 plugins on google and it took me right to here. Now my plugins folder has over 3 gb of new stuff, including the nam,rhw,sam,hsr project, simmars,ndex skyscrapers, somy seaports,cobb's luxury stuff(AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!) and more.

and here's something else cool.......

My mom is a flight attendant for Delta, and lately, me and her came to an agreement. She would take me to dubai(the real dubai) and stay in the burj al arab(for 1 night) for my birthday if i created and published a remake of dubai in sim city 4. so i have an exact recreation of the dubai region and im ready to roll. baby! wish me luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dubai coming to a city near you on 12/12/12

and after this, i won't be a freshman anymore!
