Nah, I've had the simulator on pause while I've been building, so it wasn't a seasonal issue. Something just didn't work with the rendering when I was taking the shots.Pretty sure I didn't add any plugins that would've changed anything, so I'm not entirely sure why they didn't show at first.

Hi Everyone,

I ran into some strange missing props/dependency issue while I wanted to reLot some PEG-CDK3 SP lot. Everything looks fine except when I open the LOTs under the PEG-CDK3-SP Dock 1x 110.dat file in the LE I have unidentified props, in that case actually only one: 0xF4E1C6AA. It has the same size than the main dock/ramp props and it can be located exactly above or under these props.

I have the necessary dependencies what are mentioned on the download pages (the CDK3 SUPERPACKS and the security fence kit)

But accordind to the SC4 Tool's dependency tracker option I have several missing props under other PEG-CDK3/OWW2/CDKM elements. From the cdk3 basics and cement patch dat I have the 0xa0001488 prop what is missing, but only from 2 lots: PEG-CDK3 Docks 3x3 and PEG-CDK3 Docks-OC 3x3.

But the things anyway look fine ingame or into the LE, just bothering me what these props are and how important they are if I leave them out after the reLOTing.

Thanks for any help and/or advise.

Probably best to check the documentation if it's not listed on the download page.

If I want to create functional seaports for the PEG SEAPORT CONTROLLER,

- is there a tutorial?

- are there any 'traps' to watch for or ...

- ... can I simply use a pegasus port, make a copy and use it as a template?

Thank you.

Well I would say this is probably some complex modding. A quick look at the files, suggests that you need an exemplar, similar to those inside the file "z_PEG_Master-Seaport-Controller_105.dat", for the lot/(s) you create. This seems to link via the property "Lot stage template IDs" to the lot exemplar.

In cases like these, it's often hard to find exact instructions on how to proceed. Perhaps there is a tutorial, even one for the BSC seaports would be helpful, since the same steps would apply. However, my understanding is that rather than describing how, the BSC one supplied templates you could use to make new ones. Have a look here for info on the BSC ones.

So it might help to just go at it with some trial and error and see how it works out. I'd start with a very basic lot, just to get the modding of the seaport in place first. If that worked out, then I'd go from there.

Come back if you bump into questions along the way, I'm certainly interested myself in how to go about this and will do my best to assist you. Just a little busy to get into it right now.

Is there something I'm missing about the PEG CDK3 SP Pier Seaport?   It has 0 capacity and 0 usage.   I have the controller installed, and having no problems with the container or break-bulk ports, only the pier seaport.

I don't think that one is supposed to be functional. I could be wrong, I'll try to check it for you later.

Looking into this further, I think you may be right, despite what the information suggests.  Checking the regional transportation view indicates that they are just eye-candy - there is no seaport icon for the pier seaport, whereas the break-bulk and container ports both have one.

Hi folks

Well we are making progress!

We now have a dedicated PLEX section on the STEX!

Over the next while, we will work to get all the legacy PLEX files transferred into this new section of the STEX.

We are hoping that this will be completed within the next two weeks...  *;)   seriously...  it wont happen overnight but it will happen.

Thanks again to the Dirktator for throwing us a lifeboat - it is very much appreciated.

I have an extensive collection of downloads from the SimPeg website. How or where should i upload everything?

You shouldn't.

Unless you have permission to redistribute these files, it would be against the rules and nowhere in that message you quoted does it ask people to do this. Most of the content was transferred a long time ago and whilst a few small items still remain missing, what is on the STEX is pretty complete.

Well, last september I have asked three people (@Craig-Abcvs, @Pegprod and @blunder) who allegedly responsible for the Legacy PEG files to upload the PEG PPond Locks to the STEX, because the resource files are dependencies of my SeaPort pack, and however blunder said (answered to my PM), that he can upload the file, he has never done that (at least the first time he responded to my PM). I wouldn't have bothered him again, because @catty-cb's page had a copy of the file, what I could link, but recently those files went missing too, so I wrote blunder again, if he could upload the file, or give me a permission to upload only this one file, but that was one month ago without answere so far...

So my question, could someone who is actually active (admin, moderator etc) handle the PEG Legacy files?

They aren't missing, I did post over at CB what I was doing, which was moving all the SimPeg stuff I had over to here

https://community.simtropolis.com/clubs/26-city-builders-website/cb-community/pages

... but RL has been difficult to escape from just lately so I may not have finished, I'll need to check just where I got to with this ...

I do tend to assume if people don't ask then they either know what's happening or they aren't that bothered, I might be busy but I haven't disappeared.

-catty

PS: I'll check once I've done and make sure people can still link to files, etc

I have something called "PEG_CSK2_Locks_2.05_SU.zip". Is that what you need?

Hi!

Nope!

I have the file, I just can't link as a dependency. The PEG CSK2 Locks is on the STEX, it belongs to the old CSK2 set, my dependency is the PEG PPond Locks, which is kind of upgraded stuff compared to the CSK2.

I would like that file (PPond Locks) to be on STEX, because that would make things much more easier... :)

@catty-cb: thanks, I think I read about you moved the PEG files, but I couldn't figure it out where. Now I found the "Locks", but I don't know how to link it...

Well, at least they aren't missing anymore :D:D:D:thumb:

I was still moving files before RL took over ..... Not to sure how the new PAGE functionality works, so I'll look into it and let you (and anyone else) know how it works, PAGES are for games, hobbies, websites, etc, GROUPs are for projects or teams or at least that was the plan when the company split the original GROUP function in half and created PAGEs.

Herein lies the problem; being an Admin or Mod on ST does not = having rights to distribution of PLEX files. Since these files are managed by former SimPeg staff, who aren't terribly active around these parts, that does make getting such things submitted problematic. But that's the rules here, not just anyone can upload content, even if it's in the best interests of all parties involved. I say all because I firmly believe creators would also want their work to remain available.

At least the content is available, unlike so much content from other sites which is simply MiA. Seeing a further decline in activity around SC4 just makes me reflect once more about how the longer we procrastinate on the ethics of getting this content uploaded, the more of it will be lost forever. Since it's becoming ever less likely someone with such content on a HDD is still around to provide the source and others will have time to make it available.

I originally uploaded the FiRE dependency by RebaLynnTS over at CB as a favor to someone as I was aware that RebaLynnTS had over at SC4Devotion posted this statement

Quote

antn: Thanks for the suggestions. I plan to implament as many as I can. The textures for each wall on every building is unique, and not tiled. I am not as good at textures, as I'd like to be, but I am always learning.

Buzzit: This set will be modular, so you can arrange it anyway you like.

As with all my creations, feel free to relot, repackage, and re-upload as you wish, just remember to give credit where it is due.

I'm assuming that means her missing files can be uploaded on the STEX.

Paeng's files he has passed into my custody as he has left the SC4 community and I have given @rsc204 permission to upload any of his work that's missing from the STEX, as for Pegasus I'm assuming the new policy over at SC4Devotion could be applied

https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/index.php?topic=17746.0

To be honest I never intended to have any of the SimPeg files over at CB for more than a few weeks ... it was just meant to be a stop-gap until the former SimPeg staff had finished uploading files into the PLEX on the STEX then apart from Paeng's files as that's a different situation I was going to delete them, as CB was never really set up as a file exchange.

For those of you that have used either of the SimPeg (PLEX)  and (PLEX on the STEX) Catalogues over at CB to location a file I'm in the process of moving them to individual records here

https://community.simtropolis.com/clubs/26-city-builders-website/catalog

Its a slowtime job so it may be a while before everything is listed here.

Permission has now been granted to myself and @Tyberius06 to upload to the "PLEX on the STEX" the missing SimPeg files and also once sorted out with pictures and dependencies Paeng's Forum Attachments, if there is anyone else out there who wants to lend a hand, please let me know and I'll have a word with the staff at getting you permission to upload to the "PLEX on the STEX".

Only major requirement is anything that's uploaded is clearly identified with the original creator  :read:

In mine case real life commitments mean its going to be a couple of weeks before I can do anything in this area, @Tyberius06 has been given editing rights to Paeng's Files over at the CBEX (plus some files that Paeng give me) and that applies to anyone who wants to help and has an account over at CB Web.

This is an easy part I can help with. The upload to the STEX can be done by anyone and then we (staff) can change the author to @Pegasus. Just post a linky to the upload here and I (or any other staff) can make that change.

Thanks @catty-cb! :)
I started to put together a folder for myselft where I can work on this project. Altough tomorrow I would like to upload the PEG PPond Locks (finally), and then update my uploads with the proper dependency... So selfish I am! :D:D

All the Paeng files on CBEX will get a readme and attached picture about the content and standard folder structure (zip name with the creator and content name\creator folder\content name folder\actual content).

But I open any suggestion... :)

Sounds good to me :thumb: I'll update the SimPeg missing list as I'm finding some SimPeg files over at SimCityKurier (in slowtime I've been re-indexing them now they have moved locations) so we don't end up with duplicates.

Hi!

I uploaded the PEG PPond Locks under the PLEX-MTP files.
