PLEX on the STEX - Community Support

Hey, I noticed that the Mountain Trail equivalents for PEG Pine Trail Head and PEG Pine Trail Extender are still missing from this site, as is the PPond equivalent for PEG CSK2 Road Swing Bridges (I have the last one, btw), does anyone have a way to upload them if they have them, or are the first two lost forever following the demise of PLEX?  If needed, I can provide the last one so it can be added to Pegasus content page under his name (it is his creation after all).

 

Also, Paeng had a medium sized park for MTP that is also missing, as well as a water tower lot for the MTP Mountain Trails.  Are those forever lost as well or is there a possibility of getting those uploaded as well?

 

Finally, the PEG Alternative Rail Textures for MTP also seem to be missing.

We have all the "missing" files. And yes, there are plans for restoring all these files as we have all of them. A few years ago I managed to recover whatever was on the PLEX before they went down.

PEG Alternate Railway Mod is a bit tricky, though, because it is more or less incompatible with modern NAM editions (v37 and above).

Cool.  Also, I kind of already know PEG Alternative Rail Textures are more or less incompatible with the NAM, but thanks for the information regardless.

Btw, do you need me to provide the PPond Swing Bridges or do you guys already have that on backup?

Hi there, does anybody know if there is an overview available of the different elements of PEGs OWW2, CDK3, ... as it's really hard to build a nice harbour or waterfront without knowing which lots are available and what they look like ..

 

Sorry .. found them. Under Linux, they went under "home/Documents/SimCity/..." :-)

So glad to see a fellow fan of the content made by Pegasus and his collaborators (i.e. Paeng, Murimk, Craig-Abcvs, RebaLynnTS [a.k.a. Becca], etc.).  The loss of SimPeg was truly a massive blow to the SC4 Community, though thankfully a large percentage of their content has been salvaged and released elsewhere, including here on Simtropolis.👍

Hey folks, I seem to be having some technical difficulties with both the Random Woods 208 and Seasonal Woods 208 downloads as both items ARE NOT showing up in my Parks menu. I still do have my copy of Seasonal Woods 206 and that set DOES show up in the Parks menu. I don't have Random Woods 206 to test though as I do prefer the Seasonal variant. I wonder what the issue could be? *:???:

Do you have the submenu DLL installed? If so, you will find them in the Parks menu/Green Spaces submenu. I think... 

Edit: yeah, with submenu DLL it's in the above mentioned submenu. If you don't use the DLL it should be still in the park menu.

I do have Submenu.dll installed and as you said, the Seasonal Woods lots were indeed there *:thumb:

And you know what?

Having them in that new location decluttered my Parks menu by a bit too which is good too.

EDIT - Addendum:

I've just realized my old backed up copy of the PEG Abyss Garbage Chute IS NOT version 205, but rather version 206. I do not know what was changed from 205 though as I've only backed up the mod's PEGPROD Folder and the mod itself.

Just in case anyone needs this info...

The only difference between 2.05 and 2.06 is the Pigeon Effect Prop being included in 2.06. It's mentioned in th Readme - "Missing Pigeons Effect prop added to version 2.06"...

By the way guys...

Which prop does the Abyss Garbage Chute need from the PEG CDKREC Sewall Kit Vol01?

I've tried plopping the chute with and without the PEG CDKREC Sewall Kit Vol01 and can't immediately see anything that might and/or might not be missing from it *:???:

I have no idea. I can imagine that it's an effect prop. Seagulls probably, but I am just guessing. I am away from home till next Tuesday so I can't check.

That does appear to be the case. When using version 205, the Seawall Kit is needed to provide the seagulls effect. However, version 206 contains the effect without the Seawall Kit. That makes sense since the Seawall Kit is dated between the two. I also didn't see any other apparent differences.

Huh!  Learn something new every day.  Been playing with the garbage chute for years and never once noticed a difference with or without the seawall kit installed (had always wondered why the latter was listed as a dependency as a result).🤔👍

Same here, except I probably switched to 206 when it came out. The original Readme's for both didn't say anything about needing the Seawall Kit. However, there may have been an intermediate update to 205 that I missed. I never bothered to check until this came up here.

I guarantee with 99% certainty that's the case with me as well.  205 may have been dependent on the aforementioned seawalls, but 206 is apparently not.  Pegasus may simply have forgotten to add a disclaimer stating the dependency was no longer a requirement.  Btw, to @Pegasus, if you ever happen to return to this site and see this thread, thank you for your contributions to the SC4 community as well as your wonderful buildings, mods and content.

If the LotConfigs for 205 and 206 are in the same order, but slightly different I could compare them with my Lua Script. (Someone would just need to send both to me privately.) I may not have time today, but I likely could check them by tomorrow. *;)

I have 206.  I don't know if I have 205, but I can look for it later.  I do still have my stone age piece of junk of a Windows XP computer still usable in addition to my newer Windows 10.

Update: Apologies.  I ended up crashing when I got home and thus didn't end up doing much before going to bed for a few hours.  But I did manage to find a copy of v205 and so if anyone wouldn't mind telling me how to send the file through a PM or other method that'd be great.  Otherwise I can wait until Corina herself responds and figure things out then.👍

Let's go ahead and address this since it's a handy thing to know. *:)

First, just hover your mouse over me and that'll pop up a box with some info. Look in the lower left for:

And click that to initiate a PM.

In there you can add other peeps, fill in the Subject line, write the message, and attach files.

I personally always click the Choose Files... option and then navigate to where I want, but that's just me. The Drag and Drop prolly works fine too.

Once you have attached files in that lower list, you can position and click your cursor in the editing window where you want one to appear, then click the file name in the lower part and it'll add that as a linky in the body of the text. Same works for pictures.

Feel free to test drive it and send me a couple small files. *:)

That finally sorts out what @CaptCity said early on about what version 206's readme file mentions *:D

Now back to our initial question though? What does 205 need with the Seawall Kit, and does 206 still need the kit or not?

No, version 206 contains the effect, so it won't need the Seawall Kit. The birds appear in the game without it.

205 will need the Seawall Kit since it does not have the effect included in the file itself

Thanks a bunch for the information.  Very useful.  Also, sorry I didn't follow through sooner.  As I said, I meant to do it as soon as I got home, but ultimately crashed and ended needing a few hours of sleep to recharge.  By the time I found it the deed had already been taken care of by another, lol.  Thanks @CaptCity for taking care of it.

Sure, that's fine and no worries. I was simply saying it's still ok to go thru the steps of sending a couple of small files for practice. Then if a similar situation ever comes up for you (with any member), you'll already know for certain you can do it. *:)

Well I do have a couple of PLEX files that I could sent that have yet to be uploaded to the exchange, that way you, CoriBoom or another moderator can upload it on Pegasus' behalf under his name (they were made by him after all).
