Hi everyone,

I'm new here and had a quick question. I have the CSK2 and I got the CSK2 variable width canals. It says that it has no dependencies,  but when it try to use them, there are only brown boxes. The regular size CSK lots work fine. Any thoughts on what I'm doing wrong?

Can you post a picture?  It might help determine what you are missing :)

It seems like the CDK3 ferry is missing. Anyone willing to upload it to STEX?

Are you sure? There are at least 4 ferry ports in the CDK section of the Plex on the STEX.

Head over to my Lot and Mod Shack to keep abreast of my latest developments.

Do you like custom textures, but don't like all the work involved creating them?, take a look at the Texture Automation options here. Change the look and feel of your transit networks, with the minimum of effort, for example customised versions of my Sidewalk NAM (SWN) and Terrain Grass NAM (TGN) mods, and much more besides.

New to the NAM? Check out my tutorials on YouTube. Latest upload: How to: RHW - MHO Roundabout Interchanges. (Nov 25).

Yes, I'm aware of those, but that's not what I was asking for. It's this one I'm talking about:

ItM947V.jpg

Also the cement patch for CDK3 is missing.

Most people are aware that I had indexed the PLEX before it shutdown and that list is here

https://community.simtropolis.com/clubs/26-city-builders-website/cb-documents/11-catalog-by-website/11-simpeg-exchange

I had been working on a replacement list updating the URL locations to their new locations, I hadn't planned on making it public until such time as I'd finished it, but who knows when that will be, unfortunately it doesn't help metasmurf at this time as neither of these two files seem to be on the STEX ... or at least I haven't located them as yet.

I'm sure I'd have them, I downloaded all the main PLEX items a little while before it closed. The problem is that no green light was ever given to upload such missing items. So without clear explicit permission to do so, I wouldn't want to risk uploading others work.

A user has asked where to find a file included in the CSK 2 Functional Small Port. I've done a quick search and it appears this file is not amongst the content hosted on the STEX. Therefore if I have permission I could attach this here, perhaps someone could add this?

Perhaps I should have PM'd this request? I'll see if I can get in touch with Blunder, although I don't see him around all that often.

Hi all.

I'm a OS X 10.10.5 Yosemite user. I've found that some PEG files work with the STEAM version.

For example PEG_ArtificalTree_100.dat works just fine. But such files as The Deluxe Pond Kit II and Hanging gardens are exc. files and don't work. Could someone please post the .dat PEG files to the stex. And post a link in this forum thanks in advance.

Much SC4 content is contained in .exe or other formats. Typically most MAC users use an application like File Juicer which can unpack the files within. Your other option is to boot into a windows environment (assuming you can) where you can use the installer to extract the files for you. As a last resort, I'm sure you've a friend/relative with a Windows PC?

Out of curiosity, who's in charge of doing the cat herding for getting everything mirrored over?  I saw Catty was taking an inventory but I know there's a number of things from Paeng that aren't in the PLEX section yet.  And that's not counting the little forum attachements they did :(

I was very much a lurker on SimPeg but I loved just reading through the PLEX and looking at all the awesome work people did.  It makes me sad that it's been nearly 6 months and not everything has been migrated to STEX.  I really wish there was something I could do to help out.  Like I've got a Dropbox account that's mostly empty that could be used as a temporary host.  Or repackaging things.  Or assisting with formatting STEX entries.  Or whatever.

I think Craig or someone else mentioned that one of the tasks they wanted to do as part of the migration to STEX was to re-package any releases that were still in self-extracting ZIPs so that Mac (and I guess Linux) users could extract the files easier.  I'm guessing the Pond Kit II hasn't been updated yet with a ZIP version?

As I said to someone else who was asking about the forum attachments that's something that only the people who attached those files could sort out, its impossible to track them down otherwise, the PLEX files are different in that I have a name and creator which gives me a good starting point, I was expecting to be further along than I am with updating the list, but the outages over the last couple of days at Simtropolis have put me behind.

An update on how this is going the original PLEX list had 658 plugins on it, I've now located 532 of them and updated the URL to the new site, that leaves 127 which may or may not on another site ... make that 126 as I've just located "Terring's Labyrinth by Paeng" its on the STEX as "Paeng & Terring - aMAZEd"

The whole problem here is two fold, permissions and time.

Very few members have any rights to upload such work. Of those involved with migrating the PLEX, few are frequently around. Ultimately some of the content may never make it onto the STEX or elsewhere.

This is especially true of Paeng's attachment stash, who knows just how much is actually missing. We're lucky Catty had the foresight to index things or there would be no data to go on for the bulk of the exchange.

So far as I know, EpicBlunder and Craig were the people who are handling this.

I did send Paeng a PM regarding this, and while I'm hoping for a response I know he has moved on to other games, once I've got as far as I can then I'll send PM's to the other people who's work I can't find, a couple of Pegasus files are on this list at SC4D

Sorry for being short on this, but this was all TL;DR (most I don't understand)

Where could I get the missing Cranes depend. ?

docks.png

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.

Sorry no idea I suggest you ask in the "Where can I find this ... ? topic

As for the Index, I'm down to 86 that I can't still locate on either Paeng's site, SimCity Kurier, SC4 Devotion or here, 22 of those are files by RebaLynnTS, but its not going to be a problem as RebaLynnTS gave written permission for her work to be

Quote

As with all my creations, feel free to relot, repackage, and re-upload as you wish, just remember to give credit where it is due.

That being the case I will do a final search thru the SC4 sites then post a list of what's still missing in case anyone knows where its now located or as I've found during this search some of the files on the PLEX despite saying they were by someone in fact turned out to be by someone else on another site.

Those that are left I will upload to somewhere at CB in case people still need them (always assuming I have the file in question).

Have given up trying to locate the files in the above list (some were found after the above list was posted), and have now started uploading RebaLynnTS missing files in here

https://community.simtropolis.com/clubs/26-city-builders-website/cbex?folder=PLEX%2BFiles

as she give permission a few years back for her work to be uploaded in other locations as long as it was made clear she was their creator, still missing copies of some of her files so if anyone has the missing files I would appreciated getting copies of them, also a couple of people over at SC4 Devotion have given me copies of most of the missing Pegasus files, not sure if all of them will be uploaded to CB but certainly the patch files will be as none of those appear to have been uploaded to the STEX.

I may have a few items I can contribute if they don't have one there... the cop car mod (at least one version of it), and there was a landfill replacement item where they just dumped it off the side of the map. I haven't even finished loading the mods I had onto my current set-up, but should have some stuff not here currently. I can host the items on my server...that's not a problem, though it would not be "official" for me to do that, even if it was only temporary.

KNOWN FILES

PEG_EternalReward_104.zip

peg_ponds.zip

PEG_SPAM_FULL-MOD.zip

PEG_WaterMod_Brigantine_205_SU.zip

PEG_CDK3-SP_NavBuoys_100.zip

Security Fencing Mod

247 Mod (required for ponds)

Thanks for the offer, I'm pretty certain all of those ones are on the STEX, see the PLEX List (what was on the PLEX when SimPeg was deleted)

We are only trying to locate the missing ones from this list, those missing ones we have been able to locate are here

You will notice Paeng's name isn't here as I'm still hoping to be able to contact him at some point regarding his files.

I have now been in contact with Paeng regarding his files and he has given me copies of everything he was able to retrieve from SimPeg including his tutorials and forum attachments, see the post I made over at SC4 Devotion for more details

I need to sort out some details before I upload it anywhere.

Hey, just something I came across while downloading the PEG CDK/OWW packs and various things to go along with them.

Essentially, everything went fine until I tried to use the 3x3 corner piece from PEG CDK SV Plus Pack 1, where, in the attached image you can see an absent texture that was also absent from the ramp piece (top left corner of the image) that I didn't notice until taking this screenshot because the ground doesn't disappear for 3 of 4 viewpoints. Weird.

I started trying to trial and error my way through it and discovered the missing texture in the PEG CDK SV Plaza Pack 1 download, where it seems to be used in small plaza under the parks menu (bottom image). It's mentioned in the CDK SV Plus pack that it was updated to include a missing mosaic, and I can only assume that this is the mosaic that was intended to be included, but when the files got updated on the STEX, a different version was used that does not include that update.

Hope this helps with preserving this content in some way. Although I'm almost more upset that that texture is used instead of just keeping the whole thing sandstone. Why?

Also, I keep editing this, but I keep noticing things. There's apparently tree props missing from the SV Plus Pack as well. All those little circles at the back of each lot are meant to have trees in them. You can see I was testing the various plaza lots in the image, and the one slightly obscured by the menu is one which also has a circle of dirt, and that's where that tree is coming from.

If I find out the culprit of that, I'll edit this yet again.

When you installed Paeng's Sandstone mod, it probably overrides the original sandstone textures (that matches the one in the corner). Only since that override doesn't cover this special corner piece, it causes a mis-match. I've quickly knocked up an override to cover the missing textures from that pack. Just make sure the attached file loads after the original file, PEG_CDK-SV_PlazaPak1_205.DAT). If you place the included DAT in the same folder as the original file, that would be sufficient.

Missing trees = Missing dependencies. Listed deps for this download are:

  • PEG CDK-OWW Seaport Village
  •  PEG CDK-OWW Development Kit Volume 1
  •  PEG CDK-SV_RandomShops

Ensure you have all of these installed.

(Nov 25).

Thanks for the reply, I guess that all makes sense, and I didn't even think of checking the textures without other mods installed.

As for the tree thing, it ended up correcting itself and they simply didn't render when taking that screenshot, so it seems there's not a prop issue with the dependencies involved. I just never got around to editing to post to reflect that.

Ah, that might be because these are seasonal or timed? Props that change basically. If so, sometimes the simulator needs to hit a certain date before they will first appear.

But we still need your support to stay online. If you're able to, please consider a donation to help us stay up and running. This helps sustain a platform where we can share our community creations for years to come.

STEX Collections

By way of a "Thank You" gift, we'd like to send you our STEX Collector's DVD. It's some of the best buildings, lots, maps and mods collected for you over the years. Check out the STEX Collections for more info.

Each donation helps keep Simtropolis online, open and free!

Thank you for reading and enjoy the site!
