It's a really beautiful building, and better yet, it's your own invention, showing your talent!

Now, about the windows: I also think they are beautiful, but I tend to feel that their colours are too much contrasted, looking like they were all washed five minutes ago, while it would be more reasonable that some of them, particularly on the back, would be covered in dust and less reflective. As Fantozzi said, it's just a suggestion that doesn't change how great your work already is!

Really nice design!

To me, they look more as a modern interpretation of prewar twin towered specimens, more similar in "feel" to The Kent (200 east 95th, being built right now) than to the Century.

Personally, i feel this makes them even more valuable - in reality there's some kind of enduring fascination for historical styles, and that generates buildings which, for the better or the worst, are part of nowadays urban landscape...having more examples of that on the ST can only be a good thing.

I really love the fact that they look so worn. All the grime and varied textures on the glass give character. Keep up the great work as always! ^_^

Looks great, looks someone trying to replace Aaron Graham. :P

I love the variations you giving us. I think when it's time to lot you need to get a Lot number range from SC4 Devotion. I can't remember what it was called. What it do, I use it  to not make so many lots for the same building. If the lot looks the same use that same lot for all your building variations.

PS: I had plans to make some building on Central Park West, and more from West End and Park Avenues.

Hooray, I've always loved Manhattan's Majestic, even if it always pops up when I'm trying to search for San Antonio's Majestic, hehe.

Interestingly, The Century at 25 Central Park West is a younger sister of The Majestic, both being designed by the same architectural firm in the same Art Deco style and opening in 1931.

Although you are admittedly not making an exact recreation, a cool part of their stylized design is the use of wrap-around corner ribbon windows on the base and penthouse as well as different masonry material on the structural corners of the towers.  These create horizontal windows and color band elements that contrast nicely against the building's many vertical elements, and are a key part of making the style at the time seem "moderne."  Aside from the architectural debate about windows between the era's modernists and the historicists, I'm sure the larger corner windows were also selling points for the apartments that would then have sweeping corner views.  It might be something to experiment with on your building, perhaps by just drawing/pasting them into your preview renders as a mock up just to see how they might look.

Hi guys ! Some news is known about the buildings that @JP Schriefer had :

- 500 Fifth Avenue
- Hampshire House
- John Mansville 275 Madison Avenue

Is there a possibility to obtain a link to download them?

Thank you ! :)

@JP Schriefer I thought it was a Central Park building next to John Lennon's old house. But I'm still not sure.

That you want to throw the Wellington tower! I will be great for the neighborhood of Carnegie Hall! Thanks for your great work on NY!

If someone doesn't like guessing the building then they're on the wrong website! *:P Based on the size and style and the width of it, I'd guess it's from NYC. But NYC is big, and while I spent some time looking, I couldn't find it. But whatever it is, it looks absolutely fantastic.

The Wellington Hotel looks like it would make a good BAT. Before you finish it, remember the 1.6 meter setback!

I hope your last exam went well today.

WOW!!! You've done an incredible job modeling this! Absolutely beautiful.

Also, the building looks super familiar to me, but I can't seem to place it. I have an idea what city it's in, but I'll be curious to see if anyone identifies it.

Keep up the good work! And hope your exam went well!

I don't know what building this is, but I like how they went all Hogwarts towards the roof - holy cow! That chimney (?) tower looks so bizarre... especially in the bottom right view, as seen from the backyard. This looks like a beautiful addition to the Chicago tileset, it's W2W to boot... and as I always say, if the untextured clay model aready makes you drool buckets, the final result will be great if the person on the job knows half a bit about texturing, and taking into account your STEX history, I'm all optimistic!

This is staggeringly, stunningly good.  I love it just as a model, and it isn't even textured yet...

I gave up looking for that beautiful needle in the haystack (surely, it's in the US...) but that's one fantastic modeling. I can almost imagine patina covering some portions of the roof. :}

Yepp, that's what we all are talking about!

Wonderful idea, no rush, no pushing, but you can start right now! :D:D:D

@JP Schriefer It's a very beautiful building. I don't have a clue what is this in real life, but it's looking very good.

@Tyberius06 thank you very much!

@Jasoncw thanks, Jason! I thought w2w buildings were supposed to be exactly the same size as the tiles. Do you think I need to resize and render them again? Thanks for the tip.

@Francis90b thanks, Francis! I'll start to set it as 1.6m from now on.
So I already have the informations about the old Singer Building. It was 33,5m x 17,7m. I believe that particularly in this case the best option is to resize it to 32m x 16m with no setbacks, otherwise it would be too modified. What do you think?

In case people doesn't know what we're talking about:

@Aaron Graham thanks, Aaron! I'm happy you like them, and I hope you can get time to bring us more amazing buildings again *:)

@darn42 thanks! It's great to see you around.

@gtgx666 the roof from the Hearst Tower is now modified. I didn't bring it yet because since I'm doing modelled floors it's being a pain, but I'll post a preview soon then. TBH I'm not good with glassed buildings, so I'm not sure if someday I'll be able to do so gigantic glass structures.

Another one from the drawer, Johns-Manville Building at 275 Madison Avenue:

    Hi, ESP15

    Since January I'm not able to work so much on my projects. The only thing I did this year was finish that Portland building and start the Triangle Terrace to the SC3K Project. So I don't know when I'll be back on track here. Maybe tomorrow, maybe in 2 months, I really don't know.

    That last mysterious building I posted here has 2 other buildings almost finished on the same block which I didn't show. Now I'm thinking about bring them here this weekend in a new render to see if someone will be able to guess them right while I can't update my works :P

    What's up? Simply a case of RLS, or did something break down so you can't update?

    (sorry if you mentioned it somewhere and I failed to read it or already forgot it again with my goldfish brain...)

    In any case, it's nice to see you posting. *:)

    I forgot @Odainsaker is always discovering buildings on the Maxis References thread, next time you're not allowed to participate :rofl:

    Just kidding, you did great! I think this building wasn't an easy one to find. Very interesting you already knew about it for such a long time, btw that link with the other buildings will be very useful, so thank you *:D

    A brief history of that block I also posted on SC4Devotion:

    These buildings were demolished in the late sixties to make way for Zuccotti Park. In order for the 1 Liberty Plaza to be built (on the block where the Singer Building and the City Investing Building were located), a green area must also be created so as not to violate the zoning law. Then the builder of Liberty Plaza also bought all the buildings of the two adjacent blocks to make the park - it is worth remembering that before the construction of the park that block was divided in two by Temple Street, which no longer exists.

    The buildings from left to right are: North American Trust Company Building, Liberty National Bank and finally the Washington Life Building. An interesting curiosity is that there was an owner on the ground floor of the North American Trust Co. Building who refused to leave the place with his restaurant, so everything was demolished on the block but the first floor of the building. That episode delayed for years the complete construction of the park.

    I miss BATting, I'll make an effort to do something about that SC3K building.

    @JP SchrieferHi!

    I ran into recently a thread about the Rio Olimpics 2016. You started to make a few BAT back then,  but what's happened with that project? Will you ever release those buildings?

    I'm talking about this topic. Some of the showed planned BATs were released, but some of them hasn't as I know.

    @Tyberius06 Hello *:)

    Well I'm always being asked about unfinished works and I always reply almost the same: I really want to finish everything I started, but it's not so easy, especially with big models like Maracanã, Copacabana Palace or, more recently, the Singer Building, because they require a lot of research. Besides my lack of time that sometimes happens, as in this year, sometimes I just don't feel motivated to continue some work at that time, which is why I have so many projects in progress. From almost a year ago I don't start anything new - besides a building to the SC3K project - to try and finish the ones I've already started. I must say it's frustrating to me to be part of that project and still have not released anything, so those buildings are definitely on my plans.
