Sorry to sound like a broken record, but would really try and dissuade BATers from BATing the entire lot.  While it may look nice, it really limits what can be done from a lotting perspective.  What if somebody want's to turn this into a beachside resort?  If you just BATed the buidling, somebody could go in spruce up the lot with a mega pool, palm trees, etc.

It looks like you are having a lot of fun adding in the details on the ground, but all of that can be easily done with the LE, and it will look more cohesive as well, since your BATed grass and pavement textures will look different from all the surrounding buildings.

I'm not trying to pick on you, in fact, I think you are really progressing as a BATer, which is why I think it's important to understand the benefits of separating the 'BAT' from the 'lot'.

Keep up the good work :)

Now I understand better why you asked me if I planned to bat the lot around my building... ;)

But what do we do if we want to achieve some special things you can't really do with the lot ? (or we don't know how to do ;) ;) )

Well, at the very lest, you could BAT the building as you wish, with the ground included in the model, but also include a separate model file of only the building. That way lotters can take you building and create some nifty lots, and possibly upload them on the STEX for all to enjoy :)

Question : You used trees in your bat, are they low-poly trees ?  :ooh:

When I tried using a tree exported from Vue d'esprit the render times just skyrocketed.  :P

Actually I exported that from Sketchup. The render time increased, but not that much.

Yes, I can understand you, I've thought about that. I'm trying to reconstruct the original building. The gardens I could even do in the LE, but for that I need to know how to make the custom LODs, and I did not find tutorials about it, so I'm doing everything in BAT. If I could do that in the LE, the model would be lighter too, would be better.

    Thank you :)

Returning to work here. The other two mods are ready with the daytime version, but I'll wait for SBS to learn how to make night lights and LODs to launch.
Making another daytime version of a new project from Oscar Niemeyer, called "Niemeyer Building", in Belo Horizonte too. I'm doing it at scale.
This building is pretty quick to do because it's all symmetrical, so I can copy and paste most parts of the building. Soon I'll show more pictures. Now it's just to show the project.

    SketchUp, 3ds Max and Gmax.

And I'm learning how to do BATs, so I can't teach you hahaha.

Well, here's the building now, Ctrl-C Ctrl-V helped me with that. Now I've to add the details and find a good texture, this one is horrible.

Great start! Maybe once you scale it up to 133% the windows will show up :)

    Faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaast !!! :)

It's a bit sad the structure hides most of the windows, but it might give interesting results for the nightlights

Great start! Maybe once you scale it up to 133% the windows will show up :)

Thank you, guys, but it's already resized in 133%  :lost:

I changed to 143% and it's not sooooo much better, but better then before :)

The next picture I'll show will probably be the final day version :)

    Tips are welcome.

I think you should keep on working on it. :)

The first thing I notice is that the texture on the floors repeats from floor to floor.

For scaling, first, if your model is not the height it is in real life, scale it to that height. And then after that, scale it to 133%. If it still looks short after that, it's only because it's a short-looking building, not because you did something wrong that needs fixing. :)

The BAT School should be starting soon (the main thing left to do is to match students and teachers together), so I wouldn't release anything until after you've finished BAT School.

The texures really are repeating, but it's because I made these floors copying and pasting, so when I change only one of them all are modified =/. But I will try to fix it.
The model was already at 133%, I increased over 10% because otherwise really would be very strange (I've tested it 143% in the game and looks good, does not seem out of scale). Just did it in this building due to his design, with only 133% would be impossible to see out the windows, would be very ugly.
Anyway, I'll wait to finish BAT school to release something :)
Thank you very much for the tips!

Well, going back a bit to the Central Bank, resized it 133% and now it looks better. Also only let the most basic textures to work out the details later. I started to test the lights and are still bad, but I'm trying to learn a bit before BAT School start to after it get easier if I did not have much time.

    That's just great!

    Thank you Konstantinll! :)

    Interesting structures ;)

Thank you. If you're talking about Central Bank, it's localized in many cities in Brazil with the same structure, it's curious.

Cool, I like that you're going for unusual structures! IMO we have too little of those on the STEX.

And fast progress!  Good luck with BAT school :thumb:

Thank you andisart! You'll be a teacher in Bat School? Because you should.

Alright Mr. Borgmästarjojje, what classes you are not going just to watch more classes of Divination? I was thinking of creating this week a Harry Potter project thread dedicated to it. It can be a huge and complex project, for example Hogwarts School, but other things could be simpler, like you said Gringotts, The Burrow, and even Hagrid's hut etc. Soon I'll do that.

    Thanks for comment, Borg.

Is it a reason of this kind of situation? Can you explain it? :)

Wow, sorry for taking 4 months to reply you '-'

I honestly do not know why, even now googled and found nothing, it is equal in some cities, but others are different, so I can not say that all are absolutely equal, but it is really curious.

You've done a great job on the model, the textures look like they still need a bit of work though. Mostly they look a bit tightly scaled so are looking very busy and starting to tile, some of the colours also look a bit unnatural (cartoonish). Have you got a day model to show? Its hard to tell on the night model. If you get the textures right you have a great BAT here :thumb:
