id like to request tree mod i it will be nice if there was a nice varity of trees in the god mode tree planter thing for example have the default maxis decidious trees,tall palm trees,pines,sfbt decideous tree,redwood etc............. and also it will be useful if the installer gave u options on what trees u would like pm me if anyones intersted thanks

@ A.D. : I made a mod that forces all civic buildings to construct, and utilities are on the way. There is a link to it in my sig. I would reccomend tracking the file, as there is an update coming soon (adds cranes).

About the roads, this is possible, although I would have to search around to find the right exemplar again.

Now about the fact that buildings are immediatly demolished. What you mentioned would be extremely hard to do, if not impossible (coded into .exe). This would be realistic, but could get a little annoying waiting for buildings to come down.

LOL...its the total opposite of what you thought, but I can't blame you. It's a complicated game and I would have probably thought the same thing too when I first joined the site.

BIGSLARK - I'm pretty sure that there is a "bus blocker" lot on the STEX. Just search "bus" and look for it. It works similar to the truck blocker.

i live in ingle wood and i am workin on LA i just recently had a lil trip to south central ive noticed to pollution there and compared it to the pollution in the game and in the games its yellowish but in my city its kinda blueish and grey its kinda hard to explain but yea it will be a nice modd that can replace the default pollution color

I have great airport thanks to the good folks who created the RIMP series but I can't seem to find any rental car lots. Does anyone know if an Avis, Hertz, Enterprise, Alamo, thrifty, budget, national, or even a Rent-A-Wreck exists?

I'm not sure whether this belongs here or in the bat section (maybe both?).

I haven't seen any sort of "ski resort" anything.

I don't know whether it should belong under a mod (maybe it could be a zoning type that is only available at a certain elevation).

Or maybe it could be as simple as a large-scale commercial or park plot/grow? If so, it would probably have to be self containing (terrain height is the 3ds model(s) itself), so it can be placed anywhere in a city, regardless of elevation.

I would be perfectly happy with something as simple as a 8x8 or larger park/landmark that gets unlocked after reaching certain priorities (# of people, satisfaction rating, # of parks etc).

Any of those would be very cool. I just really love skiing/snowboarding and I think it would totally rock to implement it somehow in a city.

I had a idea for the ped. walk lots included in the NetworkAddOn Mod. If someone could make similar lots that would work on water. Such as a transition lot from water to land, regular water lots, a cheap lot that would use the overhanging method but would be a subway for crossing under bridges, etc. That would be nice for my floating power plant lots.

Oh, I just found out a while ago that all of the ped. lots and the puzzle lots can be plopped underwater, but they don't work. Could someone fix one or both of them to work on water and look good?

For the pedestrians to be able to access the Ped Mall tiles, you need to have a "mass transit" lot between your roadways and the pedmall tiles. Parking lots/garages, bus stops, railroad stations, subway stations, monorail stations, and elevated rail/GLR stations are all considered mass transit lots.

Well, I am pleased with the city devestating powers of N_O_Body's anitmatter power plant (though as I PM'd him it'd be nice if the blast radius extended to 40 tiles and fire radius to 200 tiles). However, I'd like a UDI mod airplane that had a bomb function that did the same thing. Say a B-29 or better yet, B-52 launchable from say the largest ingame airport class. Alternatively a nuclear missile strike mod disaster would be great fun for working out the "frustrations of mayor." Speaking of which, the existing meteor disaster doesn't have a wide enough blast zone for impact of an object its size, no where near realistic.

Just thought of one other mod that would work well in the next NAM. Streets should also be able to make neighbor connections. Right now in my agricultural empire I have to used road segments at the edge of my maps to connect my ag streets across town boundaries. Not realistic. Thanks people!

Hello.

I'm debating modding the ANT network myself, possibly to create busways. they would be roads that would not accept any traffic, except bus traffic. I'd like to do this myself, but there is so much information out there, and much of it does not relate to what I need. can someone help me find the things I'd need to know in order to do this? like how to edit things?

Hi

I'm trying to make a simple mod that concist in keep the streets always look the same, I mean, the grass wich appears along the street never disappear, gardless the density of the buildings among them ( R $ / $$ / $$$; CS/CO $ / $$ / $$$ ). But I am with a problem in the ilive reader, when I click in the "Texture Viewer", "Zoom 5" and "Street", nothing happens. I should see a list with numbers and pictures, but nothing show up !

Why this happen ?!?

Curopaica: you will need let the reader know where your C:\Program Files\Maxis\SimCity 4\ folder is.

Open the reader, then under option, click options, then, where it says SimCity Folder either type C:\Program Files\Maxis\SimCity 4\ exactly if your simcity folder is in the C: dirve or browse for it yourself.

There are 3 mods which I think will enhance the game. 1. A horizontal traffic light mod -Obviously, this would replace the default vertical lights w/horizontal ones, like they have in Texas. See attached photo 2. A avenue crossing mod This MOD would remove the need for cars to slow down when going through a street-avenue intersection, or rather, having to stop only when there is a light. Avenues are meant to be quick and efficient, almost like mini-highways, at least where I live. See attached photo. The bottom intersection, cars must stop because there is a road crossing but at the top cars don't stop because it's a street crossing. 3. A concrete mod -This MOD would make the road and avenue and stret textures concrete colored. Lane dividers would be those little, white, round hump things. There is an asphalt highway texture to make all transport textures match, so why not do it with concrete. Concrete is more durable and lasts longer, so a bonus for this one is decreased road maintanence costs. Concrete is a new trend of road building in Dallas/Ft. Worth area, which I am using as inspiration for my OKC. See attached photos. The first is Legacy Drive, model for avenue textures. Next is the entrance to the Westin Stonebriar Hotel, model for streets. Last is the junction of the Dallas Parkway and Legacy Drive, model for one-ways, underpasses and ramps.

I have a mod-request

I would like to have a mod that prevents ALL REGULAR GAME BUILDINGS TO GROW, so that only the plugins and custom content grows in your city.
(and no, I don't like the idea of plopping a city, so the PlopModd will not do)

Would anybody like to dedicate some time to this?

i'm from Italy, sorry for my english.
about GLR
I've seen that are no available jobs with the possibility to have  rails covering,  on the same street/way,  with  cars, bus, etc.(as is normaly in European cities  - surely in the down-towns in taly...).
That is not very efficent for the traffic speed but realistic,  overall in the old style town.
Is there some who can work on that "project" ?

Is there a way to completely remove demand caps? or at least a way to get my skyscrapers up fast?

I had to demolish an old city to set the standards for level. (many people complained of wreaking their mufflers and other underside parts of their vehicles. So the entire city which spans about 9 city tiles has been done. now i want my former skyline back, and will reverse enginneer simcity 4 if i have to. please help?

Prior 2 Simtropolis overhauling the site there was a mod for changing the gameplay time to reflect the actual passage of time. I haven't been able to find it since, does anyone have a copy I can access?

Can someone make a mod to make the building non-dark. For example> When there is a R$$ person and they move out of their house because of low demand (or anything actually) the house is now abandoned. Then a low wealth person occupies the house. Then the house gets dark and the lights don't come on at night. I am fine for the lower wealth to occupy the house, but I am not okay with how the house gets dark (or apartment). < I know that you guys are thinking that someone already made a mod like this. There is and it is called the dilipidation mod, but it edits more than I like. All I want changed is the darkness of the building and nothing else. There is an example of this mod but is done when you press the windows button on your keyboard and then goes to the desktop. Then you press the tab at the bottom and it goes back into simcity4. I notice that the buildings That were dark were now light ( except abandoned buildings) like if a high wealth person was still in the building, but I query it and it still has a lower wealth person in the building. This works with commercial, residential. (Industry doesn't have a low wealth person in any other building than its own.) All I want to change with a mod if I could make my own is to make the building that looks dark light again even if the lower wealth person is in that building. I want the building dark ONLY if the building is abandoned. If any modders need any more information please pm me. ANY moderator is welcome to do this because this certain thing in the game is really bugging me.

Here's an idea for a mod: How about a 'Venice Mod'.

It could add CSK sesctions onto roads and streets making them look like canals. maybe industrial areas could have dock style canals, and avenues could use CSK2 sections. It seems doable. Does anyone want to have a go at it?
