  1. New DLC, official info

    I do need some toothpaste.
  2. Ground water drying up too fast!

Does anyone know if Maxis is preparing a fix for this? This is the single largest game-breaking issue for me at this moment. These things have NOT worked for me (my pumps still dry up anyway): Building a water pump near the ocean/lake etc Buying water from your neighbor city (it will dry out their lands) Sewage treatment plant (placed anywhere) Is it possible to buy water off the global market (haven't done a trade city yet, so I haven't looked)? Any help is greatly appreciated.
  3. Yeah, the water pumps are located right on the edge of a river / ocean. This seems like a very major bug here... I'm not sure what I can do to fix it. Is there really an alternative to using nuclear power for a large scale city? Does the solar panel project provide infinite electricity?
  4. Apparently bulldozing and popping this back down did resolve the issue. I was forced to do this as I started another town in the region and it also showed that it was not unlocked. It was either bulldoze and hope it fixed or restart the region.
  5. Anyone have the issue where you add a department of safety wing to your town hall but you are not approved for a police precinct, a large fire department or a hospital because it the box for department of safety is not checked? I've thought about bulldozing the town hall to see if that fixed it, but I'm afraid it'll mess up something. I have other wings (department of utilities etc)...
  6. At some point, wind power ceases to be realistic for a city... at which point, nuclear looks like it might be a good idea. However, if you use nuclear power, after a while, your water supply will dry up. I have 2 separate water pumps, sewage filtration and none of that helps. If you play long enough with a nuclear power plant, your entire map will run out of water (if you can afford placing water pumps all across the map and then letting them dry up). This can't possibly be a design decision right? Has ANYONE figured out a solution to this? I've been able to dry up huge sections of water that originally supplied 1500+

  10. Broken - New Users

I've e-mailed both the webmaster and written a suggestion on e-mail form (name, e-mail address, message) regarding how no confirmation e-mail is sent after making a new user on the citiesxl.com website. Has anyone else noticed this? No, my e-mail inbox isn't deleting the confirmation and it's not in my spam box. I've made 4 different e-mail accounts and tested them all and have not received a single e-mail (gmail, aol, yahoo, and live). Can someone make a post on their forums about how their "new user" system is broken? You can't log into the site as a new user (or the forums) until you receive a confirmation e-mail after creating a new user account.
  11. Making a lot Growable

Perhaps it's the instance on the DIR file? Both files have the same value under the instance... but I can't seem to change it!
  12. I'll start really quick by declaring my personal direction and intentions before asking my question - this should help with understanding where I'm coming from. I don't use custom ploppables in my cities and dislike custom landmarks in general because most of them lack the ability to blend in with the original simcity menu system, design, and layout. Some might call this finicky. I am however, a big advocate of custom content - particularly user-created buildings on custom lots. So, I'm a huge fan of growables... because they don't alter the game too much (and those that have skewed settings - pollution, garbage, electric, water etc... I 'fix' personally) I have found a building that I liked... but it was a landmark only version. Doh! So, I decided to try to make it into a growable. Should be pretty simple. I copied the main exemplar file from another growable that worked (we'll call this building, [bUILDING BLACK]) and pasted that main exemplar file into the landmark only building we'll call, [bUILDING RED]. I copied most of the relevant values from the [bUILDING RED]'s landmark exemplar and pasted them into the cooresponding sections in the recently pasted GROW exemplar file. These values are like: Exemplar Name, Query Exemplar GUID, power, water, fire etc. Booted up SC4-DeluxeEdition Walla! Or sort of. BUILDING BLACK has been replaced by BUILDING RED in all of my cities. So, I have successfully converted the landmark into a growable... but at the expense of my BUILDING BLACK. If I remove the BUILDING RED from the plugins folder (or just the GROW exemplar in BUILDING RED), then BUILDING BLACK will reappear correctly. If I remove BUILDING BLACK from the plugins folder, BUILDING RED still works correctly. So, I conclude that BUILDING RED and BUILDING BLACK are sharing a unique building indentification thingie, and when Simcity4 boots up, it just decides to choose BUILDING RED over BUILDING BLACK. What is the name of this indentification thingie and where is it in the GROW exemplar file? Picking a random number (I assume it's a hex 0x344GDF number) should fix this unless that number is a duplicate as well right? I've gone through and tried different values but I can't find the indentification thingie. What is it called and where it is? Thanks.
  13. Giant High School

Works well in the city :thumbs up: There are a couple angles where the polygons don't seem to line up though for some reason. At a close zoom, it kinda feels like the walls are plain... like they need textures. Good model.
  14. Bahrain WTC question

What are the requirements for a growth stage 8? <I mean for one to show up on your city... >

I don't want to have to grow a megatropolis just to see if I made the GROW properly.
