@Linoa06I've seen all those maps previously and there are bound to be some exceptions for any rule/principle. I was just giving my opinion and feedback. :)

I'll actually stand to agree with you - and your suggestion about extending the Purple Line to the north is actually something I was considering already, given that it is a rapid transit line with only 10 stations - by far the shortest line in the network. I also like the idea of expanding the Brown Line to meet up with the Green Line at the Civic Center station, which is in, you guessed it, Downtown - and maybe east to meet up with the Blue Line and run north up to the stadium. I personally wouldn't replace the Orange Line outright, but I was thinking about having the Green Line turn south and share the last three Orange Line stations. And to reply to Linoa, yes, there are multiple "centers" of population that I am trying to cover with this network - especially with the Red/Purple Line concurrency.

Usually not good with city maps, pretty okay with how that turned out (from my Cathnoquey CJ, I'm not gonna bother finding the underused CSL map thread here is just as good)

That's not 'ok', is great! There is all the needed detail without looking overwhelming. Maybe the only change could be to use different colours for fail and metro services, akin to superimpose a metro map on this one.

By the way, which tool you used? PowerPoint is great and all, but big diagonal grids are a headache...

I use Inkscape :P at least for quick projects. Illustrator is more professional with more tools but isn't free.

For the metro, well I keep it simple here because well to be honest the system isn't actually finished. I am probably gonna realign lines a little so I don't want to call attention to it in the CJ proper, I've already had people spot tiny inconsistencies :D

I am planning a bus/metro map using this map as its base, which will feature the metro itself - but I also feel different colours for the two metro lines here would be a bit too distracting and a bit too much information for what's supposed to be a quick glance look at the city's roads and general layout, not to mention if I begin to colour the lines I might as well place station names, which would definitely distract from the map's purpose. There will be more maps in my CJ, so that's allright :D

@matias93 Is that the region view you have there or the city view? I ask because of the edges, which don't appear to be nice and uniform.

Is the region view, 24x24 kilometres, as obtained with the Region Census application; the edges are irregular for two causes: terrain elevations that were preserved even if the image was straigthened (on the bottom and right it is even possible to see the underground terrain), and small imprecissions when straigthening the image, shown as jagged borders against the white background.

That map looks nice. Is it based on your CSL city?

Just out of curiosity, how did you make that region census shot?

Hahahahahah, sim!!!!

Yes, i exported the map, made some changes on it (like contrast, color curve) and made the other map with the lines in another layer. Thanks!!!

I'm working on a transit map for Greater Kaijo Area. So far, this is what I have made. I am having difficulty using Illustrator nevertheless, I'm having fun learning how to use it. *

Since I've been toying a lot with SimCity 4 recently I've been able to make bigger transit networks than with CSL. The city that I've built is honestly not worth showcasing (it's really ugly to be fair and mostly there to toy with transit and NAM options xD), but this map I made from it probably is. There's a few too many flaws, but oh well :>

Could you believe me that just now I noted that the question was directed to me? That's serious issues with attention, guys!

The image from the region census is inclined just as in the game, so I took it and straightened with the GIMP. I'm not sure of how the specific tool is called in English, but in Spanish is called 'cizallar' or something like that. The icon is what looks like a rhomboid (this thing /__ / ), and basically lets you to select a cuadrilateral section of an image and distort it until getting the desired shape (in this case, a square).
