I won't pretend.  I have no idea what that means, but my coworker probably does.  He explained to me one time that there's like this match of some sport between Sidney's team and some other team and it's like some sort of all-star game and Sidney always loses, but I have no idea what it's called or if this is it, but I think it probably isn't.  Anyways, that's about the extent of my knowledge of Australian sports.

1747: Ah yes, that's the State of Origin which is played between New South Wales (the state Sydney is in), and Queensland. And yea Queensland always wins, as they have for 8 years in a row. 

Today's match involved a different sport altogether, which is most popular in my home state of Victoria. Different regions of the country prefer different sports almost unanimously.

Top Gear is a great laugh. Some of the challenges and stunts they do are hilarious. At the moment, I'm actually reading a book called "The Stig: the untold story". Quite an interesting read if you're a fan of the show (most of it is made up). Who Stig is remains one of Top Gear's greatest mysteries. Although there's plenty of theories about the man behind the helmet.

I also watch MythBusters, which is still entertaining, though somewhat more educational. Talking of Breaking Bad, there was a special episode on it last week.

I was 16 when I got my first cellphone of any kind, and it was a flip phone. Smartphones did not exist yet.

 

It always weirds me out to see teenagers with smartphones, because I can't help but think "hey, you're not old enough for one of those, you're supposed to be an adult before you get one!" This of course was my own personal experience but it was admittedly skewed by the fact that I was already halfway through college before the first iPhone came out.
